  1. Interesting to see 2 Russian boxers Berbatov and Bivol fighting each other in the Main Event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night . Seemingly like the tennis, boxing doesn't regard the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a justification for banning athletes from their sports. Both those sports have coverage that only Speedway could dream of in the UK and I've never heard of any criticism of their participation in both sports in our press. What then is the justification for Sayfutdinov and Lagutas continuing absence in World Championship events?

  5. I understood the judgment all but put paid to any concept of a housing development on the site being possible. However, developing a commercial site of industrial units and of offices may be seen in a different light by planners given the concept would be to provide places of work rather than places to live. Thus giving Brandon Estates a way forward. similarly any parties interested in bringing motor sports back to Brandon could consider an approach similar to that being proposed at Swindon. (Albeit doubts exist about the genuine intentions of the the folk involved there). Would it be worth exploring with Brandon Estates the possibility of a joint venture to bring both a commercial development and a stadium to the site?

  7. It would be nice if we could get a few more people to commit their support (and money) to the project. I really hope that all the fans that pledged to finanancially donate, actually do that. I pledged my support at the meeting and will donate as soon as I get the details. There has been a lot of effort being put in to getting this unique project off the ground, its never been done before and it will be great if it succeeds.

  10. I'd been planning on going to Cardiff again this year and was looking forward to it. To me, it had the right ingredients with lots of places to eat, shop and stay right there and an amazing atmosphere and you could make a weekend of it and all on the doorstep of the stadium. I've had a look at Google maps to see what is around the NSS.....and it is pretty barren for an event place (lots of houses though) and with a severe lack of hotels, shops and food places (and a piddly train station that I am not entirely sure is wheelchair accessible). Unfortunately, this means that to attend, it will be buses, taxis or walking miles just to have the same amenities and when you are a wheelchair user, I can tell you this is a major pain in the bum, exhausting and stressful. Travel time for me is pretty equal, however at least Cardiff station is right there and not a few miles away for the mainline as it is for the NSS or piddly like the closest one to the track. It may or may not have better racing (it all depends on what the weather does that weekend), however without the easy access amenities and the loss of the atmosphere before and after the GP because of this, it is a no from me.
