  1. I agree they certainly did not want to run League without Crowds.

George definitely was a Top Man in 1965 ,and should have went further in the sport IMo.He walked out of a Wet meeting at Meadowbank in 65 and then seemed to take a dislike to wet meetings.Think the Craven situation was always at the back of his mind, and nerves seemed to affect him on the big occasion. He was a class act and a fantastic style and team rider. He had a good career in the sport if somewhat underachieving.A good guy.
  4. Very much doubt a vaccine will be generally available in a few weeks.
  5. They don’t seem to, but they won’t ride if it is raining or if the track is wet so there is no point .IMO. Both today’s meeting had a shower of rain 1 was delayed an hour till they sorted the track, the other got abandoned because they thought the track had ruts after the rain even though they regraded the track. The riders want everything perfect it seems. In common with GB these days. IMO.
  6. Some tracks will have lost less money this year. Its the riders that are the biggest losers.IMO
  7. You would have had to put your boiler suit on in your day.
  8. That’s the one thing in common with GB speedway ,the riders dictate.it’s not worth turning up if there is a cloud in the sky these days.Throttle control is a thing of the past.!!
  9. That’s your opinion ,the ref had to exclude someone so he obviously thought Thomson was at fault.
  10. Sorry but Your talking sh*t the meeting I was watching was the meeting That they came back too after a long interval ,then they went to the other meeting. It looks like they are starting that meeting again at 3.30 ps.Im watch a “stream“ Not premier sports.
  11. It doesn’t look like it’s raining, they are standing on centre green discussing in shirt sleeves!!!
  12. Sad news ,have just read his book last week ,great read.Certainly typical no nonsense type of rider and person.Who knows how far he would have went in sport but was certainly a great Team Person.Saw his first ever match at Newtongrange when he got a maximum riding at No 1!!!!! Nobody knew he was!!!.Condolences to his wife Jean she was his rock ,a special woman IMO. R.I.P . Alan.
