Typical speedway rules nobody has a clear idea on this matter,or if the Promoters have ,they are not telling the fans as this has been under discussion on here for a couple of weeks.
I'm a bit confused with your theory, does the rolling averages not stop this from happening. If the assessed riders drop their average and you want to keep them who do you drop from the Team? Did Newcastle not try this with Danny King last year and it failed because they had to drop 2 riders to get 1 so called decent signing into the Team.
Think he won his first 2 races one night and was taken out in Heat 8 by a monarch .Anyway he will probably come back to haunt us when Sheffield visit Berwick. He seemed to lose interest at Berwick last season ,he is a talent IMO and is still young.
The problem is the Promotion have stated that Speedway is unsustainable in Berwick with the level of weekly support whether it be people picking and choosing meetings or not.speedway is not going to get any cheaper at PL level IMO so they have to attract more fans every week not just when it is a big meeting in the fans eyes.I agree times are hard and financial restraints stop people attending regularly unfortunately.Ps
Did the £10 entry attract more fans ,I think the jury is out on that one,so it is not just the cost of admission .IMO
Where has the crowd disappeared too if the racing is good at Shielfield or more important why.I would settle for new faces rather than the usual journeymen who end up at Berwick these days. You have to be able to keep them though.Alden.Aspregren,Jensen,Bellego all entertained but then seemed to lose interest.
The averages kill of any chance of having aTeam of assets nowadays if they improve you can't fit them In a and lot of the time they want to move on anyway to further their career if they are ambitious. If they don't ride in UK they are worthless.
I know the situation with Bellego and I am not fussy about Barrett but We need to stop being so polite when it comes to negotiating with riders .Lets face it Kus could not have been that keen to return either.Allen on a 7 cuts our options down quite a bit. Barrett is just a decent reserve ,but finding a partner that is already better than him could be difficult .Edberg is no better than him and he seems to be the favourite for the position
Unlike the Waite era Foreigners don't come cheap nowadays and we are skint by the sound of things. We do need another Heat leader to back up Barker (who can win Heats at Home).Vissing would be the man but it seems all quiet on that front.Interesting !!
What a lot of rubbish, he gates and then goes faster than most riders for 4 laps,he's not hanging around on all shapes of tracks, doesn't do "Fisher" and fall on his ar#e once a meeting (everybody calls him a racer ).Most Teams would take him if they had the chance.
