Is is not fact that the sport is in a real decline season after season, most Clubs are down to their hardcore fans. Most clubs main Sponsers are business men who had a connection with the sport.Time is running out for it to be a full time professional sport in UK IMO
In Glasgows case for next season they are obviously paying out what they can afford from their budget for next year ,if it doesn't work out no doubt they will cut their cloth accordingly. Its not their problem if other Teams can't match their pay offers to riders, plenty of other clubs have done the same thing.
Don't see what Glasgow has got to do with pay demands if they can afford to pay .Only 7 riders can ride for them, the rest will have to take what's on offer or find something else to make a living .Every season we here of Teams paying "silly money" so what's different now.The Promotions have done nothing to try and bring down the costs and some are saying it was the best AGM for years, any problems with rider demands they have only themselves to blame.Lets face it Glasgow will probably run at a loss this season if gate receipts were the only thing that mattered. If they have found people to bankroll them fair play to them.I wish them all the best.
Hope you have passed your words of wisdom on too the Promotion looks like they hadn't thought of your theory, they are still running around trying to get Sponsers to give them money.
Speculate to accumulate is a good way to improve your business,as some of our posters have intimated.Poor results on the track results in poor support on the terrace.
Were struggling to get 500 fans to pay £14 each week it's Big Eds fantasy world to think we will get 500 to pay £20 it's another wind up from him. pie in the sky is exactly what it is.
I think you will find Kus improved his average from 6.19 to 7.52 .Still not a rider who excites the fans though IMO .Cant knock him though done the the job he was brought in to do. Bellego and Doolan did not IMO .Its not all about averages when you watch riders perform its about effort they put in every race.Sadly we lacked that a lot last season .
I'd. Like to know how the Elite League survives year after year with the downgrading of the the product on offer ,Someone at the majority of the Clubs must have money to lose IMO .Fans I speak to say the EL can't go on the way it is,but we have said that for the last 3-4 seasons and here we are ok for 2015 with virtually no change. !!!!!!!!!!1 league would be the way to rebuild the sport IMO .
Looking at the Berwick programme ,I would say the small local business men already give Berwick good support, where are we going to find good number of others to join in.that would be my concern.
