Thats exactly how I saw it. Too many people with an axe to grind with Scott, who are being blinded by the sparks.

Alcohol At Cardiff
srbramble replied to loyal royal's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree about the alcohol problems to a point, and I feel sorry for those who had to endure problems caused by it. However, the stewards have a job to do, and should refuse entry to those who are obviously drunk. We saw one guy, stripped to the waist with graffitti written all over his torso, doing acrobatics on the railings in the food concourse, and the stewards did nothing. It is intimidating, although personally, I couldn't give a toss, but for the very young and the senior fans, it isn't on at all. You can't blame all the Poles for the problems. We met loads, and they were all very friendly. -
Best Cardiff for us by some way. Two days this year, definitely the way to go. Accomodation was superb. The rooms had recently been refurbished, and were immaculate, so big thanks to The Park Inn, Cardiff north. Also met some great people, including Rune Holta, who was also staying there. He has at least half a dozen new fans, after he spent time with us before and after the meeting. Fascinating insight into the sport, and a nicer guy you couldn't wish to meet. Track was excellent, racing too, atmosphere amazing, and who could fault the weather? All in all, a lot of money, but well spent.

No he didn't. When Harris got excluded, Andersen had got himself in a bit of trouble, and locked up on Bombers line. Bomber couldn't do anything about it, and hit Hans. Why is that Bombers fault?

Nothing much to moan or cheer about. It was one on in the background, and occasionally, I looked up from the laptop. That sums it up for me. Glad Jason won, a fine choice of gate, when all the experts were surprised by it, and a good professional job done. A pity we had the tape touching and mechanical problems. Might have been the only race worth watching, but it wasn't to be.

Another Ridiculous Exclusion
srbramble replied to Brummie Boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree about the cut back, but nicki clearly turned into him. Pedersen made that straight at least 10 yards longer, which put Emil in no mans land. But he is good at that, isn't he? I actually believe Nicki is streets ahead of most other riders. But he needs to channel his efforts more positively. At the moment, he concentrates on spoiling, rather than winning, especially in shoulder to shoulder racing. He nearly always has to be the one to turn hard, go into a corner too hard under someone or go hard across someone line. He knows exactly how to play the perpetrator and the victim in any scenario, to try to con the ref. But they are wise to him now, and he is getting very tiresome with his antics. -

Another Ridiculous Exclusion
srbramble replied to Brummie Boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its funny how you resort to calling the many fans who criticise Pedersen, as his "hate club". Could it be, that the vast majority see him for what he is, as opposed to his so called fans, who just refuse to see the obvious? -
Swedish Gp 2009
srbramble replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry mate, but I disagree. My view is that Nicki went into the corner to turn late on Emil, leaving him nowhere to go. If he hadn't looked round and slowed, Nicki would have cleaned him out completely. Was Emil supposed to not turn, and just drive straight into the fence? We have had plenty of referees dancing to Nickis' tune for a while now, and now they are wise to him. The only person who "spoiled" the meeting, was Nicki. Emil was a worthy winner, with some tremendous bravery and passing around the boards, whereas Nicki used some of his usual tactics throughout the night. If he concentrated on riding differently, he might be able to focus on the job in hand, instead of touting controversy all the time, and actually start winning again. -

Everyone accepts Nicki is a hard rider, but he is hardly always fair with it. It happens too many times, and if he doesn't like being excluded, he needs to rethink his tactics. He didn't moan and groan at Cardiff 2008, after getting the decision twice in rediculous refereeing decisions, plus an obvious tapes offence, more than likely because utimately, it didn't prevent him becoming the champion. This time, he is quite a way behind the leaders, and his attitude is of a petulant child. It is no coincidence these things nearly always involve him. When he is on the recieving end, he kicks up a fuss, so where is his logic? Shut up Nicki, we are getting bored. If you believe you're the best, go about it like the others do. -
This track preparation for the GPs is getting a joke. If its true, that the GP officials are interferring in the track set ups, then something is quite wrong when we have such relatively poor GPs to begin the series. The word from the experts last night was that this track would produce plenty of racing lines, and we would see loads of passing. That just didn't happen, and a competition that is argueably the jewel in the crown of the sport, is in danger of turning people off from attending, and even watching on TV. Leave the track men to do their jobs, keep Olsen away, and lets see how that goes. FFS, its obvious he doesn't know FA about setting up the tracks, and I think we all have got the message by now, except the man himself.

Entertainment At Cardiff 09
srbramble replied to paul84's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And the person responsible for that lot has still got a job? Some local pub venues do better than that. Maybe its the local pubs who arrange it. Keeps everyone outside until the last minute. At least that would explain such shocking lineups. -
There just has to be a good explaination for it, but I can't think what it might be. Strangest decision of the night.
-
Pedesen wasn't in full control of his bike just before the contact. IMO, because of that, he lost the corner, and turned left on Walasek. Watch it again. Good decision by the ref. Get over it.

Andersen has just said on TV that not riding in britain this season has backfired for him. He suggested the same for a few others. Surely he can't mean Nicholls, can he?
-
Of course its in the wrong section! Well done to those who recognised this.

This morning, at approximately 05.40, I came across the worst case of fly tipping I have ever seen. Whilst driving on an unlit B road, out in the Essex/Hertfordshire area, I came across a pile of rubbish, comprising of building material and garden waste, dumped and blocking the carriageway! The police had been to the location at some point during the night, and had erected signs warning of the danger, and put cones and a few lights around it. I am at a complete loss as to what type of people commit these acts of antisocial behaviour, and what goes on in their tiny brains as they do it. Anyone seen anything similar?

Martin Tyler has called Alex Ferguson, Alec, since I can remember. -
What a breath of fresh air Emil brings to the series. It was excitement all the way every time he took to the track. The only surprise was that the commentators were surprised that he was capable of such a feat. Anyone who follows the sport knows it was a matter of time before he did as he did last night, albeit slightly earlier than most would have predicted. The old guard have to surely rethink their strategy for the rest of the season. Poor night for the brits, but not many thought it would be any different. Gating was paramount last night, and Scotty still hasn't learned. The only rider from gate 4 who didn't win from the first 5 heats sums him up. Rob Lyon as a guest on Sky. No more please. Shifty eye movement when on camera, and didn't have anything to say that wasn't obvious to anyone who was watching.

Usa National Speedway 2008 - 2009 Televised Series
srbramble replied to tapesuptv's topic in International World of Speedway
Its great that we get to see some more speedway on TV, but why is everyone going overboard about this? It seems to be a little "mickey mouse" to me. When they get Polish or Swedish league racing on, let me know. -
Brits In The Gp 2009
srbramble replied to shoy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nicholls has to do better this year, if his self imposed exile from the EL is to be justified. Going to look a bit of a tool if he fairs no better than previous years. Who knows with Harris. Last year he changed his bikes, and that seemed have an adverse affect on him. He must have learned a lot from that mistake, but I fear the same old performances from the pair. -
2009 Sgp- Who Will Win?

Who really cares who the winner will be? The series has a tired format. Not much change from the 2008 line up, and the riders who have replaced the outgoing ones hardly get the juices flowing. I don't expect too much excitement from the series as a whole, just as long as we get a majority of decent meetings along the way, and a good weekend in Cardiff. Probably will be NP again, seeing as he has the same competition to worry about as 2008, and he pissed that. Yawn.
