  1. I had a good view too, it was the same move Jorgy did to Josh Bates earlier in the season at Owlerton with the Sheffield rider coming up the inside line and Jorgy switching lines massively from outside to inside and running into the Sheffield rider who is already coming up the inside (albeit a glancing blow) causing both riders to lose control. Nothing Nielsen or Bates could have done in either case and 9/10 times the ref excludes the rider on the inside. I was more annoyed that the race wasn't awarded as Taylor Poole was a mile clear up front, then 35 min sun break and the track is then a dust bowl, Tay misses the gate, Scunny get a 5-1 in the re-run. As for the Compton/Douglas incident, Douglas lost control mid corner (as he was doing most of the meeting particulary on turn 2) and Andre did well to avoid a serious accident.
  2. Bad refereeing on both accounts, although the heat 1 all 4 back decision at Rye House v Sheffield meeting when Kennett missed the gate and slid off with no one near him will take some beating for most shocking decision this season.
  3. Rescheduled for next Wednesday night (9th July) www.sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.1623
  4. If we ride like we have been recently, this will be a close one !!!
  5. Just out of interest, What was the attendance like compared to last week with the Groupon offer ? Thanks.
  6. To be fair, Dryml did hit the 4th bend fence pretty hard in his 3rd ride last night and was in the ambulance getting treatment after the meeting finished.
  7. I do too, no lack of effort from Ty but he does seem to be down on speed, hopefully this can be sorted soon. Arguably Ty is getting harder racing in the 5 slot in the Premier League than the 4 slot in the Elite League, certainly Josh Bates is given his scores for Leicester and scores for us. Think Lanham and Poole are more cause for concern. After last night the Lanham/Compton partnership clearly doesn't work as they kept getting in each other's way and allowed the Newcastle riders to get away.
  8. Agree with that. Re Proctors average: I believe Ty needs one more PL home meeting and one PL away meeting to get his new average. His current average after 6 meetings (from Sheffield and Plymouth) is 6.15 so it's going to drop by a chunk unless he scores big at Brough Park, EOES and Owlerton against Rye House.
  9. The only way you won't progress is if the Monarchs get lost on the way to Owlerton and don't turn up. LolTigers will have to improve massively on recent meetings to even win this meeting.
  10. normally I would agree, but it's too small a sample of meetings to judge Ty yet, after a few more meetings for Sheffield then maybe. He looked very much on it last week.
  11. For me, Tigers are much weaker without Proctor, he looked much faster last week against Glasgow and would have scored paid 11 from 4 but for a ridiculous decision from the referee to exclude him for jumping the start twice in heat 11, when he clearly didn't in the second running of that heat.
  12. No Proctor for us on Thursday as he's riding for Wolves in that other league at Swindon.
  13. That just about says it all, could only happen in speedway !!!
  14. Question is: Why weren't the covers put down when it started raining, instead of 4:30pm when it had been raining for well over an hour and half. After all the rain was forecast !!
  15. Press release from Tigers website yesterday confirming KOC match v Berwick on 26th June: http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.1581
  16. Sheffield are at Edinburgh in the League Cup Semi Final on 6th June !
  17. I think if there's a chance that this one can be run it will be run tonight as we have got to get the KOC out of the way, due to fixture congestion. Just got to hope we don't get some of the heavy stuff we got near race time the last time Berwick came down. It's always a tough call when travelling to meetings with a dodgy forecast, we went up to Armadale earlier in the season and it was dry when we arrived at 5:30pm, had some rain and was off at 7pm. 550 mile wasted fuel and hotel, just part of being a travelling supporter at speedway, unfortunately.
  18. Who knows what would happen after what happened with us with Proctor/Roynon R/R issue up at Berwick the other week. Hopefully the weather will behave itself this week and it won't be an issue. On paper this should be close one, hopefully the Tigers will fancy the meeting more than our first meeting against the Scorps at Owlerton.
  19. Isn't it the same thing with Rafal Konopka replacing Richard Hall at Redcar and Nico Covatti replacing Ed Kennett at Birmingham, with foreign riders taking the job of English riders ? Or is it ok for EU riders to take English riders jobs ?
  20. Agree that no PL team is universally disliked. Since the PL was formed Sheffield's main rivals were Hull until they closed down, plenty of banter on the terraces at those meetings especially in the Sean Wilson/Paul Thorp days. We then had a few disagreements with King's Lynn around 2006/7 and Jonny Chapman in particular. No rivalries like that anymore which is a shame.
  21. I thought the people who saved the club were the people who put the money in and bought the club, as far as I see it, they are all still there. Sure there will be teething troubles as there are with all new businesses, but considering the amount of time the new consortium have had, they are doing a pretty good job. One away win already, that's one more than was managed last season !!!
  22. Press did, practice didn't as it was rained off!
