Hard to publicise a charity bike ride without putting the details in the press. Celebrities put there name to charity as it raises more funds. I agree some gain kudos by doing so but the end result is raising loads of cash. Bottom line is that Tai's ride raised nearly £100,000 for a childrens charity. Pretty damn good..

Has anyone started their annual moan about the pre meeting entertainment yet ?

Some people seem to enjoy failure more than success. Horrible to be like that.

Very poor advert fo the sport. Laughable that one side go out to race becuase they are winning when the other team manager or riders refuse to race because there team are losing. If all 15 or even 14 heats had to be run before a result could be announced we wouldn't have managers playing russian roulette with safety. The decision would be based only on safety and not because one team are leading after 8 or 9 heats.

Injured his left hand and broken a finger say Sky. Looking at the pictures he was lucky as he could have done a shoulder or got knocked out. It was a really hard hit. Hans is in the Euro qualifier on Saturday so its not good news for the skipper. -
A very sensible post. When you see a good mate get hurt or worse like Rico when doing the same job as yourself it must be very hard to cope with those emotions.

Greg Hancock How Good.?
Mark replied to stratton's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hancock is a brilliant trapper but doesn't risk trying to pass anyone when he rarely misses the gate. He rides within a safety zone taking as few risks as possible. I cant remember him going past anyone in a GP for a few years. The other riders bar Pedersen pay him far too much respect on the track. It seems to be an unwritten rule to not push him wide with a nudge entering a corner or give him an elbow from the gate. Very matey.. -
Coventry Bees V King's Lynn 25th May 2015

Poor spectacle tonight with most heats from the gate and stretched out. I left before Ht15 and missed the best race by all accounts. Toft did OK Shame Lynn had injuries but really nice to hear Rory Schlien is moving his legs. -

Holder is struggling badly when challenged up the inside. A once fearless rider is now looking a bit windy. Hope he can regain confidence as he is lovely to watch when on form. -

A Question Of Attitude
Mark replied to customhouseregular's topic in International World of Speedway
I dont see what is unreasonable to expect 16 of the best riders in the world to be able to race on a decent track. At Tampare riders would be doing about 65mph entering a bend which was too narrow, rutted or slippery. Hancock is a rider who rides very safely. he does not come off his bike unless something unexpected happens yet he fell off on hos own because he could not control the bike. I wouldn't blame the riders for saying 'we are not riding'. The blame lies with the management team who expect the riders to race to 100% on very poorly prepared tracks. -
Hancock didnt fancy that at all. Soiled his pants first bend.
