In 1969 we had Young England V Young Czechoslovakia - I remember the meeting at Rayleigh Ian Turner injured first race. Next year 1970 it was V's Young CZ and Young Sweden - John Louis made his International debut afeter 50 days of riding or something like that. Then 1971 was Young Sweden and Young Australasia. - enter Phil Crump These meetings gave the likes of Louis Jessup Kennett Collins and many others their first experience of International competition.

Yes - Team GB is a shambles - a team full of Coventry riders and the result was pathetic. If ever there was an example of training riders for the future then Denmark and Sweden proved it totally. We might as well throw in the towel now as I cannot see the GB getting anywhere near them - look at the riders queuing up to fill the Danish team of the future! and the Swedes and Aussies for that matter... And who have GB got ... Tai Woffinden . And the BSPA's answer to this will be to reintroduce the bonus point next season !!! Rant over
