Rye House V Ipswich Sat 31st May
Glenn replied to DragonsDen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Are you saying the track wasn't prepared how Boxall likes it as him apart I thought the rest of the team rode it as I would have expected? Kennet HAS to win heat 13 he didn't so we lost and apart from Garrity's ef and Hawkins amazing form it was business as usual!! -
I'm sure All leagues -including Poland Sweded and Denmark could introduce a standard engine formula. It's not just the UK that needs to reduce costs but the sport seems to be run for a few riders prepared to pay zillions for Machines and tuning leaving the rest to try and compete. I think the quicker the UK sets a 'different' agenda to the Euro teams then League racing might survive. It's nice having the World Champion coming from the UK but what has it done for sport here.?

Rye House V Ipswich 20 April League Cup
Glenn replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Stefan Nielsen or James Sarjeant please Uncle Len! -
Walking into the stadia the fence certainly brightens the place up and track 'appears' Wider in parts although the first bend camber is still there!! The track was very slick but very smooth - so suited Rye more I guess - a rider like Dryml might struggle in those Conditions. Rye should have a good season if Kennett and Boxall are anything to go by - I see a resemblance to the rider Experience we had in 2005 but all depends on how the reserves score.

Unbelievable comments on here the PL would be too weak to be competitive without Australian riders.
-
This team has a 'strengthen up at first opportunity' about it. There will be a few riders available once new averages or injuries arise.
-
When injuries hit teams he will become available I'm sure Best way to name your own price! Always a good honest rider

This sounds familier to Rye supporters and could be because uncle Len is away on the ski slopes till then! -

Why not? I pay £16 at Rye House - it's probably why the Elite has reduced to 5 riders + 2 national so the Loss Of Sky money doesn't impact the admission charges. Otherwise they would increase considerably and rightly so. -

Much more likely to end up in the pockets of the 'Superstars' who ride in the the UK on the 'cheap' Compared to Poland and Sweden - a comment made by a few Elite riders of note! -

My guess is that they should be reduced as taking out 2 riders of Elite standard Means there will be more riders available. However the points limit will determine the middle order riders and I can see a few not coming into the UK next year -
It will only work when we have the 2 leagues at parity and then there won't be an Elite league anyway!!

Cost cutting exercise so the 'Elite' can stumble into another season and probably done with the expectation Of no more Sky money. So 20 NL riders needed to fill these teams - I doubt there are 5 any good and does that include Steve Boxall ? If so he must be rubbing his hands in expectation!!! -
Rye House V Ipswich 1/4/13 2pm
Glenn replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It would have been good PR if Uncle Len had made a gesture to fans for reduced admission for the next meeting - not much good for Ippo fans though. Nedemark for me - tough rider and fast. -
Really need to sign a strong reserve as r/r could work if Kasper comes good. If allowed that is as not sure what the rules are when replacing injured riders eg would Bunyan need to be replaced before Lambert?
-
Saw him a head to head with Robert Lambert at Rye and thought he looked very stylish - a small version of Leigh Adams no less!!

Lewis Bridger?

Is Speedway Too Expensive Now ?
Glenn replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In 2005 I paid £11+£1 programme at Rye House. In 2012 I pay £16 +£2 programme. 2005 was cheap but 2012 is too much now. It's no coincidence that crowds have dropped off especially as speedway likes to be a weekly sport as opposed to say Football which tends to be fortnightly with a much longer season. -

Glenn replied to Rob S.'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think next year will see major cost cutting in the Premier league - teams claim poverty yet Edinburgh had 2 Germans at reserve !! If a ruling comes in to have 2 National league boys at reserve then Morley and Sarjeant would be fine and ready. That puts a problem for riders from EU on low average but UK has to come first and its tough on some teams but so what. -
Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Glenn replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
NL racing wouldnt benefit him - PL would as I'm sure he would be 7 pointer at least. Getting experience under 'proper racing condtions in Germany will bring him on much quicker. I remember another lad who appeared to have it all but has not fulfilled potential - Lewis Bridger
