Then he sounds an excellent choice. How does getting stitched up make him lower his average though. Him Nelson and Luke at the bottom end leaves plenty of points elsewhere.
-
I agree although im not sure Morley is far away from being ready based upon his end of season form. Bunyan is on a bananas average. How come it is so low. Mind you whilst he will be great away his form at Rye is never good. Lee Smart might be a good shout too. Such an exciting style and apart from his last visit he normally rides Rye well. I think we need a powerful top three. Neath , Auty, Howell, lanham, Doyle - any combination of those with Nelson and boxall and luke and another.
-
Neath Luke and Nelson are nailed on.Despite what anyone says Luke will be a very good reserve at home and is on a average that he should be able to improve on significantly.Nelson could easily achieve a 7 point average. Anyone know what his average has been over the last ten meetings. Neath has been exceptional. Cant see Brundle Hawkins or Frampton returning. Boxall is an enigma. He has such talent and such awful machinery. i'd keep him for the number 4 slot. I hope Bridger does nt come on that sort of average. He does nt ride Rye well at all. I know he is rumoured to go elsewhere but i would love Auty and Howe to join. I see the negotiations have broken down for Auty. The question is whether he has outpriced himself or is Len being tight. One things for sure Len will be aware from the way the crowds have dipped that he needs a team that does nt drop points at home and rides to entertain.

five miles from the track and we have just had about 45 minutes of the heaviest rain and thunder. If that has hit the stadium I cant see any chamce of this being on.

Bit harsh hooversquash. Not that bad a crowd for NL. Newport very very poor herne and to a lesser degree Bates aside. Good night for the Hawks. Masons contributions still seem to go unnoticed. Freemantle really mixing it. Morley maybe on new machinery looking much quicker. To be honest only a poor night for Shane stopping this being even worse. I think he was in front of two of his rides when he fell. Well done boys. I cant help thinking the crowd for these fixtures is being affected at least in part by the negative comments on this forum.

Did nt Tai Woffinden ride in all three leagues in one season?
-
And also the robbed Spurs against Chelsea on Sky. Clearly the linesman at that game had been to the bspa refs school. Entertaining match. No doubt Belle Vue would have won if Garrity had turned up and was half the rider we have heard about. They rode really well although again the Hawks , like the Rockets seem so slow from the gate. Shane and Barry were fantastic. A couple of great moves from Ben Morley and steady riding from David Mason. Hopwood was poor save for heat 14. Freemantle tried hard against an experinced team. I keep hearing calls for Owen to ride for the Rockets. Forget it. If he does nt make the start he gets nowhere. This kid needs to have a think about where he wants to go in this sport. He has a lot of natural talent but for some reason he looks like he is going backwards at Rye. Crowd was poor but i'd have thought nearer 300. Im not sure this forum helps though with its negative comments. These kids are the Rockets of tomorrow. They really do deserve some support.

Even though they are probably not yet familiar with the track I can only see a comfortable Hawks win. This is one very good team this year. I just hope the track holds up.

King's Lynn vs Hackney Hawks
Rockets replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
I think the Hawks have a good chance. Very impressed with young Freemantle so far. -
Good to see Sreve. no doubt everyone was trying. It would just be a shame if the tour fizzled due to a lack of interest if the scores are nt closer.

A strange night. Fantastic to see Thommo. All the boys looked sharp. Freemantle looks a good prospect. Shane looked like he could hit the ground running. Hopwwood continues to impress. Owen fast and smooth when in front but seems to struggle for ideas when at the back.Ben clearly benefitting from his run with the Rockets. Great to see the colours back. Also good to see a healthy crowd despite the predictions of doom. I think the Hawks could be in for a great season if they can stay injury free. Now the bad news - old boys aside the US were completely out of their depth and I think Thommo might have beaten half of them. They will clearly need to strengthen for the rest of the tour. As a consequence not much racing. I had been hoping to see some Hawks merchandise too. Maybe it will appear as the season progresses. And no fish !

I have to say Paul that my gym is near to the stadium and I have heard someone practising.
-
I'll be going. I think its great to see the kids progressing and cant wait to see the body colours again.
-
Anyone know who was practising at the stadium yesterday?
-
Thommo my favourite rider ever. Was it a team riding scott autrey and ivan mauger he took at the wick one night? Great memories of the man.
-
Looks like Rocket Ronnie will be in the line up for the American touring team at Rye. That should create some interest.
-
Morley as usual looked nice and tidy. Nice to see him supported in such numbers. Owen and Hopwood both looked impressive. Did nt see Evans Mason or Freemantle ride. I think this could be a big season for some of these boys if they stay injury free. First cheeseburger of the season. Yippeeeeee.

There is one real shame about this discussion on prices however valid it may be, and that is it overshadows what looks like being a great season for the Hawks. This is a really exciting line up with some great and exciting young talent. The progress these kids make from raw novice to hopefully PL or EL rider has always been one of the greatest pleasures I get from speedway. So for me I will be there whenever I can. The only shame is losing Joe Jacobs who I think might be in for a great season. And despite what ever is said when two NL teams are evenly matched the racing can be second to none. So come on lets try to get behind these kids. The Hawks of today are hopefully the Rockets of tomorrow.
-
To be honest Roger I think it could be a big year for all of the kids. Marc does need an injury free run. He took too many knocks last year but when he was injury free he flew. Ben is another. His progress is remarkable. I think i'm right in saying that hes only been riding aspeedway for two and a bit years. I think Shane is a dark horse. I think he had equipment issues last season but has tons of potential. Brandon I dont know anything about but the comments about him seem very positive. I dont know very much about Hopwood either but neither Len or Cook are mugs and they must have seen something they like.
-
I like Danny but I still think David Mason is a very useful guy to have around. I think he had an injury or illness for much of last year but when he was fit he scored plenty of handy points and has a lot of experience at this level to pass onto what is a pretty inexperienced team.
-
To be fair to David Mason he had some pretty horible knocks last year. I think he'll be a good old head amongst the kids. A very entertaining line up. It is a shame for Lee. Would nt be surprised to seem him at the IOW either. A track he clearly excels at.

So we have Ben Hopwood and possibly Barrie Evans subject to sponsorship. The Lakeside website have confirmed Marc Owen, shane and Young Freemantle. Waco hopefully you can confirm Ben. That leaves just one more. Any offers. Dont know much about Hopwood to be honest but a cracking line up with the others.
-
A very good rider at this level. Any other surprises? George Barclay at number 7? I really do welcome these changes but hope we still have shane ben marc and Joe - although I suspect the latter will now be heading Mildenhall way.
-
Blimey thats a slight turn up.

Spot on Rob. Great couple of posts.
