Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv
StevePark replied to Nobblytriers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Copied and Pasted from the Daily Mail web page under the story "Sky Sports vs BT Sport: As the broadcast rights battle intensifies we bring you the full guide to who will be showing which sports" MOTORSPORT Sky Sports hold the rights to show live coverage from every Formula One race of the calendar until 2018 as well as GP2, GP3 and Elite League Speedway. The only slightly worrying thing is, the story is from August 2015! -
The Ben Fund Bonanza is held every year all around the country and is being 'shared about' every year. Every track has a collection every season for those who wish to donate and cannot attend the meeting at the start of the season, also, you can donate directly, as already pointed out, so ample opportunity for everyone to make a donation.

Around 40,000 fans would disagree with you.

This week's Star has George saying that we will "NOT be at home to Workington on the 23rd, with the week before (16th) being the likely date." It also says, "expect more changes to the fixture list, once clubs have liaised with each other."

Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv
StevePark replied to Nobblytriers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The agreement with Sky, is that there must be at least 8 teams in the top flight. Whilst there was uncertainty over Belle Vue, Leicester and Coventry (that would leave 6 if none came to the tapes in 2017), then there was uncertainty over Sky showing speedway in 2017. Thankfully, all uncertainty about Coventry and Leicester is now over (and hopefully Belle Vue too), so Sky will continue to show speedway in 2017. -
Used a few times in the NL last season by teams.

Coventry run in 2017. Sharing with Leicester while Brandon is sorted out... http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31780 -
They are appearing (rather slowly!) on there now. Although why it has "Border Trophy" next to the Scunthorpe away fixture on Bank Holiday Monday 29th May, is a bit of a mystery!!

So why have they scheduled Glasgow vs Berwick (and no one else)? Unless Glasgow and Berwick aren't going to be in the Fours (8 teams left), but I doubt, if only 8 teams are going to be in the 4's, Glasgow would be one of the teams missing!!

Especially when we don't have a fixture planned for 16th July (only meeting that day is Glasgow vs Berwick). Added to that, the 23rd is also the World U21 Final Round 1 at Swindon.

If they are "100% sure of the facts," what exactly are they afraid of? Genuine question (I realise it's a question which only Mr Rising can answer). -
Ipswich have Tweeted that the fixtures will be released at 9am on Tuesday (24th). https://twitter.com/ipswichspeedway/status/822782018568224768

Aye, Forgot about Windsor!

That's mainly because some racecourses are left-handed and some are right-handed (with one figure of 8 track). You only go one way round a speedway track

2pts.

Robert was "Ruthless" before he ever joined Newcastle.

Any thoughts from Workington fans as Mason Campton is 14th with 7 points (only above Cooper Riordan and Jordan Stewart by one point) and Ty Proctor is 11th on 12 points after two rounds of the Aussie Championship?

It depends on what you call "good enough" though, doesn't it? New Aussie coming in on a 5, achieves a 4. Good enough? New Aussie comes in on a 5, been around for years, still hasn't achieved a 4 and is now classed as British. Good enough? New Aussie comes in on a 5, a few years later becomes World Champion. Good enough.
