  1. Providing the weather plays ball, the Diamonds should be decent opposition as a few of them go well round Owlerton (famous last words!). Providing he comes through tonight's meeting for King's Lynn (home to Peterborough) Thomas Jorgensen should be back for the Diamonds on Sunday.
  2. No. We only have 0.37 to play with, as we used 1.66 on Ulrich replacing Jacob, so we can only go with a 2.37 average rider IF we decided (which is unlikely) to replace Danny.
  3. Glasgow were unbeaten in the league home and away (until last Sunday), which, I think, kind of proves my point. They still got a "bonus point" despite the defeat, so your point (in my opinion) isn't totally valid.
  4. Kyle isn't under any pressure to score big points though. The Glasgow top 5 should be good enough to score the points required and therefore he and Connor Bailey pick up points they can as a bonus to the top 5 scores. Also most number 7's in the Championship are 2.00 pointers (originally) and are under-21. The Polish U-21 riders are miles ahead of most of our U-21's and, probably, will be for quite some time yet.
  5. Even though it's got nothing to do with the thread of "Newcastle 2019" I will answer. Yes. Same as the League title, Championship Riders etc etc.
  6. The statement says they are awaiting news of a private scan, so they don't know whether it's long term, short term, mid term, half term () or what. I think most people predicted that the original 1-7 wouldn't last too long, the fact that they also say "this may not be the end of changes" suggests only one or two of the original septet will last in a Brummies bib until the end of the season.
  7. A couple of things to add. Under 16's will be admitted FREE throughout the Summer Holidays (when accompanied by a paying adult) starting with this meeting. You (adults as well!) can get your face painted at tonight's match, which is being sponsored by SPARCS, which you can learn more about here: https://www.sparcsne.com/
  8. Ben Barker guests for Thomas Jorgensen & Sam Masters guests for Craig Cook. Diamonds: Steve Worrall, Ulrich Ostergaard, Lasse Bjerre, Matty Wethers, Ben Barker, Mac Clegg, Danny Phillips. Tigers: Sam Masters, James Sarjeant, Claus Vissing, Paul Starke, Rasmus Jensen, Connor Bailey, Kyle Bickley. Website preview here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=101007
  9. No. Sam Masters guests and we have Ben Barker at 5 with Ulrich switching back to 2
  10. Probably quite correct, but I was just pointing out that Glasgow had more choice than MANSE is saying.
  11. Actually, you had the choice of just about anyone in the top league too. Cookie has an average of 11.01 (so 11.56 with the 5% added). You had Hans Andersen lined up, but he got injured and one or two other riders are rumoured to have turned the offer down. Anyway hope the weather forecast is wrong as it doesn't look good (Met Office site) as I will be making my way up for this one.

  13. Something like his old rolling Championship average kicks in once he's done a few more championship meetings, is the best way I can describe it!
  14. Terrific meeting. That is the most nervous I've been at a speedway meeting for a very long time! Glad it's over and glad we are KOC Finalists.
  15. Sadly, the Lifeboat crew will not be there tonight. They have been called away to an incident on Humberside. Hopefully they can visit later in the season.
  16. I didn't say Max didn't move. What I said was it was no different to Ricky Wells in heat 1, which wasn't pulled back.
  17. Diamonds trail by 14 going in to the 2nd leg. Paul Starke guests, replacing Thomas Jorgensen. Lasse Bjerre returns. Ulrich Ostergaard makes his home debut as Max Clegg drops back down to reserve. There will be visitors from Tynemouth Lifeboat station, who will be raising vital funds to keep them going and also visitors from the 61st Newcastle Scouts and Dene Explorers.
  18. Danny Phillips excluded for being nowhere near Connor Coles bend 3/4 heat 4 (3-3 became 4-2). Max Clegg, identical start to Ricky Wells (heat 1 which wasn't pulled back) in heat 12 when Willie Lawson fell bend 1/2 totally untouched, but Max "moved" (according to Darren H), so re-run (3-3 became 5-1). Just my opinion, of course, but even some Edinburgh fans near us (on the grassy knoll as I like to call it on bend 3) questioned the heat 4 decision.
  19. Perhaps you should be saying "should have been less with a few dodgy refereeing decisions"?
  20. ... has signed for Leicester to replace Jack Thomas.
