  1. TR, points count as what would have normally been scored. ie 3 - 2 - 1 - 0 TS, points scored are not used in calculating averages. Partners bonus points are scored as normal including TS ride.
  2. Norbold, could you email me off list please.
  3. I was at the Shay on Tuesday night (Halifax v Staines FA Trophy) and I couldn't believe how much the ground had changed. Part of the original grass banking is still visible in the corners, but that's about it!
  4. OK some fair points there but your idea for the Conference League would not be suitable for the Stand Alone clubs like Wimbledon, Mildenhall, Weymouth, Plymouth etc. Maybe next year we may see a new Fourth division which will be strictly amateur.....hmmm heard that one before!!
  5. The one I always remember at Wimbledon would be the KO Cup 2nd Round match against Mildenhall in 1988. Trailling 37-59 from the first leg at West Row it was left to a last heat 5-1 by Todd Wiltshire and Kevin Jolly to tie the aggregate score at 96-96, of course we went on to win the replay and reach the Final........but we didn't win it!
  6. For crying out loud, what is it with those dithering fools. I give up.......a complete waste of space the lot of them. Why the hell don't they listen to the paying public for once, they all know how much it was hated during the KOC trial, and yet they still make idiots of themselves by bringing it in full-time. Once again the BSPA are an embarasment to the Sport.
  7. Errmm, I thought it started on Friday and ended today!!
  8. Can I have two adult please FD. (Mental age don't count so I've been told!)
  9. Finally someone has come up with the ultimate proposal. This IMO is the only way forward for the sport of Speedway in Britain. The current BSPA have no idea at all, as we all know. It has worked elsewhere, so why wouldn't it work for Speedway. The thing is though which teams would be the first to make the sacrifice, once a couple threaten this I'm sure others would follow. I'm on board.....anyone else?
  10. Please Please let it be Pedersen, I'm with Bunny on this one, if the 'Ginger Whinger' wins I'll be tempted to throw something at the TV! GO NICKI!!!!!!!
  11. Well firstly, an Independent Ruling Body is a must if our beloved sport is to steer itself away from its current troubles. The IRB would IMO have to be run by persons that have been or are still involved with the Sport. Idealy that would be recently retired riders, for example John Davis would be an ideal candidate, how about former Ipswich, Wimbledon and England Manager John Berry. There are hundreds of these sort of people who could run the sport that already have vast amounts of respect from riders officials and supporters alike. How to appoint them?.....well that would, I suppose, have to be done via the current SCB/BSPA, so there is the stumbling block! Then again, the current 'Powers That Be' could always ask us supporters for nominations via some sort of questionnaire, and then all the team representatives could vote at the AGM, that way everyone associated with Speedway would feel that they have had an input. Easy really.........well sitting here it's easy!!
  12. Why you..........dirty rotten scoundrel.....I'll slap your legs
  13. Steve, stop winding her up! You are winding her up..........aren't you?? :? Come on now.......you're getting me worried now!!
  14. I remember your original posting JoD and I think I mentioned that I did a similar Q&A session involving Rugby League supporters and those in charge. An e-mail is on it's way to CVS as I'm typing this asking if he would be willing to take part in a Q&A session. Now we just sit back and wait for a response. I shall keep you posted!
  15. Quite true dtc, it does need to be done. I mentioned this idea to our own management a while back, but to try and squeeze a mini meeting in after the main event is a big problem at Plough Lane, because of our 10pm curfew. The curfew is evident at many tracks these days, so really only weekend Clubs would stand a good chance of this getting off the ground. Just imagine the London Development League, with the likes of West Ham, Hackney, Crayford etc riding again!
  16. So he would like teams like us to move into the Premier? Where exactly does he think we are going to find the spare cash to finance a move up? We have to pay the largest stadium rent in the country and we are only just cutting even now, so how he expects us to shell out hundreds of pounds per week extra in paying wages, I just don't know. Before we closed down in 1991 the club were losing £2,500 per meeting, I'd dread to think what it would be now if we moved up. To move up could mean financial suicide to Wimbledon, I would rather stay in the Conference League if it meant watching my beloved Dons. Unless of course he would like to share out the SkyTV money to ALL 31 clubs. What is it, £1,000,000 per year deal over 5 years, works out at just over £32,000 per team per year. Blimey that wouldn't even come near to covering our rent for a season!!
  17. Track seemed to be a lot better than last year as it seemed to take longer to break up. Great atmosphere as usual, but unfortunately ruined by a row of so called fans just in front of me, which ended up with 5 missing a large chunk of the meeting as the local consatables were called in!! :x
