  1. Does anyone out there have the address for Solkatterna Speedway please, I've looked on their web site & I can't find it. I've never been to Karlstad before so I would like to have some sort of idea where the track is before leaving on Tuesday. Thanks.
  2. We always change our money at the Auchan supermarket complex on the outskirts of town. we have always had the best rates on the £ to zl & they are commision free.
  3. OK, Thanks. Will have to see where Wifey prefers to go!
  4. Anyone know what time the Torun Meeting starts on Sunday Please? We were thinking of going to Czestochowa but its a 6.30 start & we have to get back to Calais by 1pm on Monday & its a longer drive than Torun.
  5. I think See Tickets only distribute the tickets & have to wait for them to come in from the stadium
  6. The fixtures are out on SportoweFakty.pl The link is http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.php?dysc_id=4&k1_id=46 Click in the league you want & then click on Terminarz in the left hand corner for the fixtures.
  7. There are usually loads of empty seats at Prague since they built the new stand & put the prices up to about 4 times what they were when they first had a GP. We bought our seats about 20 mins before the start last year.
  8. The Ruskies are so dominent at the moment the team championship is never going to produce much in the way of decent racing. I also don't think the riders put as much in to the team champianship as the individual. I've been to Assen about 12 times & Berlin 4 times & have prefered my visits to Berlin, but I have seen some cracker's at Assen too.
  9. The attendance in Latvia would have been much higher if the prices had been in line with what the locals earn. most of the crowd around us were from away, they should have had a different price structure to enable the locals to go along too, rather than try & climb the outside walls. We probebly wont go again due to the cost & distance (I don't like flying & it's a long trip in the car & Direct line would not insure us for Latvia or Lithuania so we only had third party insurance). I'm sure a lot of other people will not bother either. People this year will choose the German GP for thier 1 off because its new & Prague's popularity has wained because it's now quite expensive. The first year I went to Prague in 96 I had a seat in the main grandstand for £10, that seat now would cost around £50 & accomadation has gone through the roof compaired to what it was.
  10. Me & Wifey thinking of going, we usually go in the Haupttribüne due to the fact I think it has rained every time we have been (except the time when it snowed). I prefer Berlin to Assen because it's much better accomadation wise & I think the racing is better. There is more skill involved rather than shere horse power.
  11. Just booked the Mercure in Torun for Fri & Sat on WWW.ORBIS.PL
  12. Racing wise I quite like Torun, the stadium is not up to much but the few times I've been there i've seen some cracking racing. Stadium wise the new stadium at Gorican in Croatia is a supurb facility & the locals are very friendly & the best GP venue was in my view is Daugavpils it was a shame the track was rubbish cos the stadium & the food were fantastic.
  13. I was at Czestochowa a few weeks ago for a couple of meetings, the track would (with the right preperation) produce as good racing as Bydgoscz, but the stadium itself is much better, with numbered seats for everyone & a good view wherever you sit. The city is also undergoing a massive facelift as well & there are plenty of hotels. The down side is that the track is a fair way from the centre & the transport links are rubbish. There are only 2 buses an hour run near the track & with 20000 punters there they are overwhelmed & not a Taxi insight either. Out of all the Polish tracks I've been to though I would rather go to Tarnow, I rekon the big banked track would produce the best racing the GP has seen.
  14. Wifey & I have just got back from the play off's & after 2 days of driving i'm knackerd (will they ever finish the Hamburg A1 roadworks). Two good meetings the Vastervik leg being fantastic on the little circuit there & what wonderful weather they have there compared with Wetlanda. I have been to Vetlanda 5 times in the last 2 years now and 3 meetings have been rained off completely & the other 2 have been run while it has rained. I don't think I will complain about our weather at home. I have never seen rain like what came down during the anthem singing moment, I could not have been wetter if I'd been chucked in 1 of Sweden's many lakes. Still some great racing over the 2 legs, but must say Pedersen let Vastervik down bad. If he'd rode as he can & they'd not lost Neils I think Vastervik could have stole it. I'm not sure what was going on with Hlib at Vetlanda but it looked as if he rode Todd's bike in his first heat & Neils's for the rest of his races.
  15. Wifey & I were at the meeting, not a bad meeting either they should have had the proper U21 final here instead of giving it to the wops. Rybnik is a fine racing circuit with plenty of passing options and racing lines & not a bad stadium either. But a distinct lack of Taxi's which meant a 2 mile walk back to the hotel.
  16. Wifey & I are in Poland and would like to go to meetings over the next 3 days. Could our Polish friends please tell me the start times for the meetings at Częstochowa V Tarnow , The meeting at Opole Saturday and the meeting at Rybnik on Sunday please.
  17. We drove back to Riga, took about 3 hours & no BO. Mind you there were 6 speedtraps within 30 miles out of Daugavpils, makes the speed cameras at home seem not so bad.
  18. Just found a dodgy internet terminal on an Austrian services. lindback was very unlucky in the final, Lindgren lifted and fell off in second place while anton was miles out in front with zabik miles down the back. Lindgren only top scored the meeting because he had 2 red gates when there were good riders in the heat. the red gate was like having a 20 yard advantage on the worst track ive ever seen in 25 years of watching speedway. Iam sure it was just cement dust on the surface.
  19. Thanks for the replys, we are going to the Golden Helmet meeting at Zarnovica on the Sunday after the GP & heading down to Terme Catez in Slovenia for the week before the U21. I hope Armando will be in Prague on the weekend , if I get a chance I will ask him where the track is.
  20. We are just about to leave on a big trip tacking in Prague, Terenzano, Daugavpils, Bydgoscz & maybe the Swedish play off final, and we are looking for some info as to where the track for the U21 final is. I have been told it's in Udine somewhere but thats all I know. I have also been told that there is a meeting at Lendava in Slovenia the day after, I dont know if this is true & would be gratefull if someone could help
  21. whowasthatberntpersson Posted Today, 04:16 AM Looks like I'm off to Tarnow now, in conjuntion with some tourist type stuff in and around Krakow. I hear its around 4-5 hours drive from Bydgoszcz???? In a Helecopter, it took me about 9 hours & that was overnight. Well worth it though.
  22. The Ref at the U21 last year was Tony Steele, the FIM jury president was Polish & it was Marek Wojaczek (the one with the dodgy beard that looks a bit like Carlos from desperate housewifes),that referee'd Cardiff. Grodski is the fat one with the basen hair cut
  23. Last time I went to vetlanda everyone took their folding chairs & made a large temporary grandstand on the grassy bends.
  24. If you think swearing & commiting acts of violence in front of women & children good television then that says a lot about you
