  1. I would add that some people are happy to muddy the water by confusing track/meeting reserves and the accepted next in line call-up in case of withdrawl-we are not talking about a mickey mouse meeting here-this is a final with all 16 competitors 5 rides away from the GP series. yes with FIM meetings local federation riders are often called in at the last moment for missing riders-however I for one are still sceptical that the FIM did everything they could have done to fill Zagar`s place with a "qualified " next in line rider.
  2. Thanks DGT for the digging-however like the German federation I`m still not entirely happy with the chain of events. If we remember back Pavlic and everyone else thought he had qualified for Poole from Lonigo-because the FIM failed to make it clear what would happen if Kennett failed to qualify from the delayed Holsted semi. I can understand why Pavlic with no equipment overhere couldn`t accept the offer to replace Zagar however Buczkowski who only failed to qualify for Poole in a Lonigo 4 rider race-off for 2 places up for grabs surely would have accepted if asked-5 rides away from the GP series. After all he had competed in Hungary and Italy. There was enough time for him or someone else to bring a "Polish engine " over for the Poole meeting.
  3. As I have previously posted(more than once) Pavlic was 1st in line when Zagar pulled out-then Buczkowski, then Dilger(all in the Lonigo semi where Zagar qualified) I have also previously stated that Buczkowski was in the country racing for Peterborough the previous night so IF asked why did he not accept the booking ? It`s water under the bridge but it still doesn`t sit right with me.
  4. The latest from Onesports Janek Konikiewicz "It seems there will be no ban for SGP riders in SEC 2014.Another strong signal that we have won-but still nothing official " http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/402422/uczestnicy-grand-prix-prawdopodobnie-beda-mogli-startowac-w-sec
  5. Gollob joins Jonsson and Safutdinov as the 3 seeded riders in the 2014 series-joining Vaculik,Pedersen and G Laguta the top 3 from 2013.
  6. Synikalle-i have worked out who he is. It`s been like watching "through the keyhole" when David Frost(or was it Loyd Grossman) said "the clues are there ". I`m pretty sure it`s someone with a Speedway past-maybe the goal-posts were moved, the ball was taken away and he`s pitched up somewhere else I don`t take all this masquerading as a poole fan either.
  7. To be fair to Philip he was only responding to a stupid post from Polskizuzel(post 96 )
  8. I am trying to list the riders signed-which as for the seniors could be up to 8/9 riders-so I don`t expect the top 5 to end up as posted so far. This Sportofawekty page gives the total picture including all the juniors attached to the clubs http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/394633/sklady-druzyn-enea-ekstraliga-2014
  9. Greg Hancock looks to be on his way to Tarnow with Nicki Pedersen possibly ending up at Leszno.
  10. Tai always used to wear his Polish sponsors hat "Betard " who also sponsor his Polish team Wroclaw.
  11. Just a tad early-last seasons fixtures were announced on December 8th.
  12. Appeal held this is a translation of main points Toruń must pay a total of 1 043 000 zł penalty . In addition, the next season will start with eight negative points . At one meeting the fans come on MotoArena for a token sum (previously it concerned three games ) . Also one game in Torun fans of the Green Mountains ( in the number of 770 persons) come for a penny .
  13. Sweden can`t be too far behind Poland in the wages stakes, with the amount of top riders who ride in the country-having said that Tuesday`s are ideal for any riders schedule.
  14. Offical statement from one sport copied from the SEC website November 17 officially comes into force provision introduced by the FIM - Europe prohibits competing in the European Championships competitors who are regular participants at Grand Prix. Therefore, the company One Sport has released an official statement which clearly underlines the inconsistency of this record with European law. "As a result of the decisions that can be made this weekend, about banning the riders of FIM Speedway Grand Prix from start in Speedway European Championships, we want to once again openly protest and point out the illegality of this idea. The adoption of the challenged decision could be particularly incompatible with EU competition law. Lawyers of One Sport are ready to take immediate action, both in terms of investigation regarding the repair damages made to our company, including lost profits, as well as to inhibit the monopolistic practices, the violation of which FIM-Europe and the FIM members are dangerously approaching. Explicit and obvious violation of applicable competition law in Europe will meet with very onerous consequences for the authors. At the present stage of development of the European Union, the competition law is a fundamental tool to work against abuses in the sports associations in Europe. With no controversy, it is common today to say that sports associations are considered as the undertakings or associations of undertakings, which are provided for in article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (ban on abuse of a dominant position). The interference of EU competition law in the activities of sports associations is no novelty - there have been many high-profile cases in recent years, and the subjects which have committed violations, suffered severe consequences. Major interest was especially so called 'Bosman case', which led to a total redesign of the operation of football clubs in Europe. The European Commission also intervened on the anti-competitive practices by the FIA - the International Automobile Federation. FIA was forced to remove the requirement for the owners of racetracks, which required from them to skip organizing different than Formula 1 competitions on the same tracks. Planned FIM-Europe decision regarding the European Championship series, will mean a serious breach of EU competition law. There is already a well-established case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union, according to which the attempt to push out of the market a new, highly efficient product (Speedway European Championships) by the dominant subject (FIM-Europe and FIM) in a manner different than the so-called competition on the merits, is contrary to competition law. As an example, one can identify at least for a line of reasoning that went to settlement in cases of Microsoft. EU competition law has an efficient and effective system of enforcement. Ultimately, the Commission should not have any problems with ordering his FIM Europe to remove illegal provisions and regulations. It may also impose giant and sever financial fines. What is more important, is the fact that if the FIM-Europe would not be able to pay the fines, those liabilities will lay on the commited members of the organization, which means – the national federations associated in FIM-Europe. We will not hesitate to use all available means, to oppose the illegal and harmful practices against the interests of the riders and our company. We deeply believe, that such decisions are contrary to the law and it is only an attempt to suppress the development of a competitor of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series. We believe that the right is on our side. All kinds of artificial and unreconciled decisions not agreed with the promoters and limiting the product we are building, are open and obvious violation of competition law. Once again, we would like to underline that competition law has an efficient system of law enforcement and confirmed judgement standards in similar cases. It is obvious, that due to such practices, FIM-Europe can only lose in a longterm perspective. Nevertheless, we declare the willingness and openness to talk about the FIM & FIM-Europe vision of Speedway European Championships in the coming years, starting from season 2015. We hope that together we can come to an agreement and find a compromise satisfying all, however, opennes and sincerity in the talks, are required for such dialogue. We categorically do not agree with the public and open violation of our rights, as the holders of a valid contract to organise the competition for the title of Individual European Champion. We also do not agree to limit the riders' rights to their performed profession on the are of EU. We disagree with such unfair 'game', which will effect mostly with the loss of speedway as a sport and the fans who follow it. We call for a common sense, good will and decision-making in accordance with the compulsory law, to avoid any unnecessary disputes and conflicts." Jan Konikiewicz Karol Lejman ONE SPORT
  15. Fancy doing Riga in 2014-several choices of airlines including Wizzair,Ryanair and airBaltic.
  16. They didn`t throw in any riders other than the 6 seeds-all the others qualified by right. If allowed to maybe more of the top riders outside the seeded riders(last season`s top 3 +3 picks)will try to qualify for the finals.
  17. Glad it`s all sorted for you-make sure you have plenty of Danish krone with you as you will certainly need them-everything very expensive in Copenhagen !
  18. Never had a problem with the e ticket-always works ok on the stadium scanner-my suggestion use the print option.
  19. That's the problem when there are two threads-already talked about on "2014 European championships" thread
  20. Once you have had confirmation that the purchase has gone through, I think you can go back onto the website and there is a print ticket option.
