  1. Funnily enough that recollection came into my head yesterday after posting the retirement news About time Wackie you entered the GP comp - lets see how much you know about GP Speedway
  2. So what is the thinking behind the BSPA granting the FIM Europe U21 championship official status ??
  3. All very confusing- this is a translation of a sportowefakty article, published after the announcement. " The supporters of Steel Rzeszów do not have to worry about the end of Davey Watt's career. The 39-year-old declared that if needed, the cranes would be able to count on him, but only in emergency. Right now, Chris Harris, Nicklas Porsing and Josh Grajczonek are in the squad, but Watt will be at the disposal of Janusz Stachyra in the event of a collision or injury "
  4. 2 threads on the BSF within hours of the accident. I also reported that Grudziadz were flying Lindback by private jet to take Gollob`s place in the meeting that night. So I suggest it`s the BSF you turn to for all the breaking news- such as Watt`s retirement posted within minutes of the announcement.
  5. Some new dates for postponed matches Sunday July 9th Czestochowa v leszno Sunday July 16th Rybnik v Wroclaw and Grudziadz v Gorzow
  6. No Bjerre for Belle Vue that day- in a SEC qualifier in Italy. No facility allowed.
  7. Not exactly the correct thread - on Monday May 1st Belle Vue are home to Somerset and I think Bjerre is away in Terenanzo in a SEC qualifier- with no facility available.
  8. Sorry but I have to come back on this FIM Europe is a subsidiary of the FIM(worldwide) and the meetings they run are 1 official 2 FIM meetings. It is a long standing point of view held by the BSPA that these meetings are just one step to far in regards to the British fixture list.- this stance could have been challenged by the SCB/ACU over recent years. I have noticed this change in the rule book for this season Fixtures shall take priority as follows: FIM SGP, SWC, SGP Qualifying Meetings, FIM U21 World Speedway Championship Meetings, FIM Europe U21 Championship, British Championships (Senior, Junior), BSPA Shared and Fee Events, Official Competitions: 1. SGB Premiership; 2. SGB Championship; 3. National Development League. NB. Non-Official Competitions have no priority over any of the above. As far as my opinion is I don`t disagree with the BSPA`s stance. I have just posted the line-up for the meeting Thorssell was scheduled to take part in and his name is missing and his place taken by the Swedish reserve nomination. so he could have pulled out and is riding in the UK instead.

  11. It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that Alan passed away yesterday after a long fight against cancer. I have posted this on the " international " section as Alan loved being able to watch all the streams at his home in the USA . Alan was a long time supporter of the Coventry Bees from an early age although he moved to the states some years ago. my wife and I met him and his American wife Karen for a meal when they visited London a few years ago. Alan I will miss your humour and company and the Polish threads won`t quite be the same from now on. RIP
  12. TV matches announced for round 4 Friday 5th May Rybnik v Grudziadz start time 5pm UK time Friday 5th May(round 1) Leszno v Wroclaw start time 7.15pm UK time Sunday 7th May Wroclaw v Gorzow start time 3.30pm UK time Sunday 7th May Torun v Leszno start time 6pm UK time
  13. With the Swedish league starting 2 weeks today it`s not looking likely that we will be able to watch it on TV in the UK. This will be the 1st year for quite a long time that no one has taken on the coverage. SKY are presumably not interested. BT will probably want to concentrate on the GP`s and the premiership. So that probably just leaves Premier Sports- which used to show it a few years back- I`m sure Dave Goddard would be up for more flights to Dublin
