  1. Very poor showing from the Bees tonight - KK not at the races, Bates, Sarjeant and Woryna one good race each and then Harris and King who both rode well to be fair! As for Havvy .... " riding like the proverbial cheap Polish Watch " not the best choice of words ! Also when asked what the right set up should be " not a clue as I haven't rode for a few seasons now " - thought that was why he was team manager to give the benefit of his techincal and mechanical knowledge ?? Can't be for just his team management on the night can do that .... Come on management - we all know and so should tou that this team is not strong enough to make the play-offs - no signing to cover for Garrity injury means no ambition - we need to sign someone else and quick !
  2. Agree with SCB on this one .... In any event can only replace James Sarjeant with another rider from EDR or Adam Roynon .... How many matches do we miss with Jason Garrity out injured ? Could replace him with a rider up to 7.48 !! if I am correct given latest gas's It's a no brainer isn't it? Cheers
  3. Brilliant performance from the Bees to chalk up a four point away win at Kings Lynn - great rides from both KK and Bomber to get the better of Niels K Iversen on his home track together with solid scores from all except James ... now need to do the biz at a very different Leicester track on Mon night .... hopeful Garrity will be back for this one as he tends to go well there ... Cheers
  4. Financial suicide putting this fixture on if it competes directly with England Football in a European KO Match !!!
  5. Bees website has just released teams - no mention of Woryna being unavailable ? Says Garrity may not be fit ? Not sure what to believe now .... Cheers
  6. Certainly sounds like it by the tone of his alleged 'tweet' .... makes you wonder why we bother to sign an up and coming young Pole only to find we are prohibited from using him any way a la Wozniak at Leicester !!! Mick / Neil - need to replace Woryna asap with a rider up to 6. whatever is - something we should have done a long time ago anyway !! As for this match presume we can use a guest ? PL up to 6.83 ? or EL up to about 4.ish ? or maybe just get Adam Roynon in ? Is Kasprzak ok to ride ?
  7. And there was me thinking it was a Coventry 2016 topic !!
  8. Newly published GSAs are now out as of 13 June 2016 showing Bees as being the lowest overall points average total 1-7 in the League at 38.18 Also shows both Josh Bates 4.11 and James Sarjeant 4.16 averaing more than the young Pole Woryna 4.10 Now we are being told that Woryna is doing well and he is being 'groomed' for next season and beyond - all very well but is there going to be a next season for the Coventry Bees ? What about this season as it is probably the last us Bees fans will have ? Bees must replace Woryna with a rider up to 6.42 if we are to stand any chance of a play-off place at all or do we just trundle along as now ? Must be someone out there to fit the bill ? Bjerre ? Michelsen ? Milik ? Lahti ? even Walasek?? H Jonasson ? Or is there ???
  9. Attended this meeting as a neutral last night and it seems to me there were a few points in answer ... 1. Referee was correct in that Summers locked up in front of Doyle causing Doyle to fall - no contact however - so 50/50 call - still probably the right exclusion. 2. Doyle got some pantomine booing at first but then showed himself up by gesturing to the crowd - especially so to one individual on the back straight who gave hime a few mouthfuls I think ! Doyle reacted and kept reacting throughout the match - good rider but needs to keep his personal demeanour in check as ther were a lot of kids present on the night. 3. Lions lost the match - not because of Tungate issue - but because both Aaron Summers and Davey Watt were effectively just passengers on the night for whatever reason. 4. For the Lions - Klindt, Hougaard and Lindgren were excellent ( Ludo's unfortunate ef in Heat 2 perhaps proving costly too ) whilst Doyle as predictably brilliant with solid back up from Sedgmen et al ... hope Morris not too badly injured - didn't look to bad a fall as he slid in to the fence but the those sort never do ? Cheers
  10. If we seriously want to win anything this season, we should make a change now that the averages alter as from Mon 16 May - go for Greg Zengota 7.79 in place of Jason Garrity 5.08 - should fit in ok ? Bees should have coerced Garrity into riding as reserve this year given that he would probably have had half the season in the team proper anyway as a result of the farcical EDR Rules ! With the lad in the team proper we are left short at both second string and reserve level this year and at least he has Sheffield to fall back on .... Zengi would give us a really strong top three with decent back up from King and Woryna - maybe keep Garrity as our squad D/U rider alongside King instead of Barker? Thoughts anyone ? Cheers
  11. Well that was a bit of a pasting tonight ! Great fightback last week to overhaul the Pirates but cannot help thinking that Poole took their foot of the gas when it was too easy for them at the start of the meeting - this time the Robins did the job right ! For the Bees - we cannot expect two PL second string riders in Josh Bates and James Sarjeant to carry us through until Heat 10 so that our Heat Leaders kick in - especially if they don't earlier in the match a la KK in his first two rides and as for Danny King ! He is just not a heat leader in this company of rider. King and Woryna have to go but only if there are better riders to come in ??? If not, be a long hard season in the race for the Wooden Spoon with Leicester Lions ..... PS : Woryna r/r rides scored paid 9 from 4 - probably better than he would have !! No doubt the riders were all trying but they are not good enough to compete with the better teams in this years league - you must recognise the facts now Mssrs Horton / Watson surely or are we all wrong ?
  12. Looking at Kandysoft current Rolling Averages after last nights match we total 36.59 - when do these averages come into being ? If correct does that give us 7.91 to play with as far as a new rider is concerned ? If so, Zengi @ 7.79 looks good to me ! Cheers
  13. Just out of interest - not saying it would have had much bearing on the match but - how come we had to track Martin Knuckey as reserve replacement for missing James Sarjeant when we have a named rider in Adam Roynon as our 'third' reserve and he was not used and watched the match as a spectator ?? Anyone know ? Cheers
  14. So what changes can teams make when it comes to the end of May ? Assume any change of FTR / EDR Riders cann only be for other FTR / EDR Riders ? Is the rule the same that teams can only have 3 'designated' heat leaders still or could a struggling team sign a fourth heat leader as long as they are under the points limit ? Anybody know ...
  15. Sheesh ... there sure is a lot of negativity on this forum !! 1. Be thankful we have another year of speedway at Brandon ! 2. Hardly the Promotions fault if Garrity was adamant he did not want to be an EDR Rider this year - at least we signed him as opposed to letting some other team having him instead ! 3. KK might not be everyones favourite rider but he was certainly wanted by almost every team in the country - given that Doyle, Zagar and Jonsson are already spoken for and the other GP boys do not want to ride in the UK - who mwould people want instead? Larsen ? Sundstrom Sh Pawlicki ? Don't think so even if they wanted to ride ... 4. People go on about Hans Andersen being a second string ? Do we know that for sure? No way - if Danny King is on Heat Leader List then so willbe Hans and maybe even Bucko too or maybe not ! but who cares anyway - I will be supporting the Bees ! 5. Think we need to wait and see the other teams before we write the Bees off. 6. Like most on here the signing of Kacper Woryna seems to be a risky one ( and hopefully not a Jamrog situation ) but hey you never know he may be another Pawlicki in the making! Not all Bees fans are as pessimistic and as fickle as some appear to be on this forum ... some of them actually support the Bees come what may !! Cheers
  16. Moving awayfrom the subject of Admission Prices etc - a rider I would like to see ply his trade at Brandon is Jacob Thorsell - he impressed when riding against us last year and did pretty well guesting for us also I seem to recall ... also seems t get on well with the other team members. Sign him up guys leaving us with needing to fill one more position .... go for Zengota! Harris 7.34 Garrity 5.08 King 6.48 Thorsell 6.18 Zengota 7.79 Bates 3.26 Sarjeant 3.00 39.13 OK Have another 1.37 points to play with but who can we sign for up to 9 points ish? Will be an exciting team to watch for sure ! Cheers
  17. Well that was a comprehensive defeat for the Bees on the night - however, still proud of the Bees performances this year in the League! Never going to beat the Pirates after a first leg home draw and with Garrity and Kylmakorpi out of action plus a strangley ineffective Kyle Howarth this year ( compared to last year that is ) Must say I too believe the whole Dakota North / Eddie Kennett issue stinks to me - compassionate leave for the rider who didn't looked that bothered about things when on television in the first leg and isn't that worried that he played golf the following day! Having said that, Matt Ford could've brought in Gordon Kennett on the night and Bees would still have been beaten by the better side. Congrats Poole - Good Luck Aces !!
  18. Great meeting last night - Bees pulled out an ulikely draw at the end with two staggering 5-1s from King and Andersen - brilliant stiuff although Pirates now go into the second leg with the advantage I feel. Sensational stuff from Hans Andersen ! I think that's why some fans ( including myself at times ) have been critical because we know he is a class act and can do that !! Battling performances from all the Bees including guest Freddie Lindgren although he looked slow all night - had to fight tooth and nail; against Dakota North for a point for 2 and a half laps - not the Freddie of old I am afraid ! Let's hope he does better in the return leg. As for Jason Garrity - true grit and determination - been learning off Bomber I reckon ! Pirates - Magic looked fantastic apart from Ht 15, Dakota North weak link although tried hard, very impressed with Newman at reserve and Davey Watt did his job and more imo. Holder did well alsoas did a surprising Kcper Gomolski! Onwards and upwards as they say ! Well done Bees !
  19. Peter Karlsson - yes, I remember Peter Karlsson riding as a guest for Coventry Bees when he first came over to the UK and team-riding Andy Meredirth around for a 5-1 win in the reserves race - no mean feat I can tell you !! Brilliant team rider !
  20. Just read Hans Andersen comments on facebook - glad to see he is a professional sportsman - not! Just slag off your fellow team mates and the public .... and there was I thinking the man was an example rider for many a young rider !
  21. Good win from the Bees tonight - although Doyle apart not much opposition to be fair! Great stuff from Bomber and Garrity, r/r scored 10 from 4 so not too shabby either ! Hans 4 good wins, 1 poor race when muscled out the first corner in his second race and then given an almighty shove from Doyle in Ht 15 - shades of Hansi of old only boot on the other foot as it were! Hans stuffed Sarjeant up good and proper in one but then wasn't at fault for Danny king's fall despite remonstrations from Danny - Danny should have tucked in behind Hans for a 5-1 and not tried to round him on the outside where there was no room. Still all good stuff for the crowd - Bomber Ht 15 was sublime !! Good to see Kyle Howarth sort it out later in the meeting and the normal 110% effort from Danny Boy. Come on you Bees !
  22. Well stroll on Bees ! We were still in the match up until Ht 10 despite Bomber picking up some unwanted grip in Ht 6 when it looked like we may take a 4-2 win only to lose the re-run 1-5 ! Then Matej Kus has bike problems when placed to give the Stars another point or two. However - what the hell happened after that Havvy ! First we get Hans Andersen trying to put Kylmakorpi into the terraces instead of team riding the guy - duhh! Then we get James Sarjeant AGAIN jumping the start - how many times !! He is a young lad yes - but he needs to learn and learn fast ! Garrity rightfully excluded but hey the gap was there and Morris was so slow around the corner - Garrity had to go for it But then Sarjeant excluded AGAIN FFS !! Match gone right there ... As for Andersen in Ht 15 as well - just pleased Bomber wasn't injured by this guy! Whose side is he on ? Come on Bees - teamwork has got us this far - don't lose it now ! Also - need to replace Robson with a 6 point plus rider if we are to get anything out of the play-offs ... come on Management / Promoters - you must see it now !! Fear for the result on Fri with a less than fit Danny King / Jason Garrity and a Swindon team on the up !!
  23. As a Bees fan but mostly a speedway fan - personally I think anyone who has the guts to get on a bike and actually ride one deserves plaudits not criticism especially after such a horrific incident as with Lewis Kerr and others before him... The sport is easy when you are behind a keyboard and we should all remember that!! Best Wishes to Lewis and his family for his speedy recovery. PS : Good result for Wolves tonight and pleasing to see Fast Freddie back to some form. Cheers
