  1. updated the first post with rules for R/R. Örebro speedway will arrange practice sessions for those are either veterans or those who own a bike but don't want to do league racing. For those who wants to have a go but doesn't own a bike, Örebro will let riders rent bikes for each session.
  2. averages can be found here; http://www.svemo.se/.../Aktuellasnitt/ but in Sweden any rider can be used for R/R no matter their average. the entire ruke can be found here: http://svemo.mediapaper.nu/rundbana/ enter page 32 and press enter. see rule 5.10.4 Replacement for missing rider in his/hers scheduled heats are allowed according to the conditions below, also see rule 5.21.13 as well as the amendment rules. R/R can be used for one rider/meeting. The replaced rider have to belong to the best riders in the team (= the two riders with highest rolling averages) and each series amendment rules decides before each season the amount of riders that can be replaced. regarding rule 5.21.13 its quite interesting that they refer to a rule which does not exist in the rule book. the last of the 5.21.* rules are 5.21.12 and the next rule after that is 6.1 good work Svemo! R/R may be used for one the two best riders in the team. The two best riders means the two riders in the lineup that on the day of registration of the lineup have reached the highest rolling average according to the official list of averages. ............ Weather wise we've had a little rain but not more then just barely enough to make the tracks more then a bit moisty, Unfortunately for Alan, he won't see his beloved sunset.
  3. since you refuse to accept that you are wrong i have news articles for you: http://www.svd.se/ny...den_1440389.svd especially pay attention to this quote: July is the rainiest month of the year. It has to do with the type of weather we have at that time of the year, with lots of showers and thunderstorms, says Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI (SMHI= Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute to learn ore about hem see: http://www.smhi.se/en/about-smhi) here is another article taken direct from SMHI's website: http://www.smhi.se/k...nth=5&year=2011 Junue is the brighest of the three summer months and normally is also a bit dryer and less cloudy. July is usually the warmest month but also the rainiest month, August on the other hand is the driest and now the watertemperature is normnally as its warmest, alough the days are getting shorter. some statistics for Gothenburg (see the link for statistics for other cities): 1= month, 2= average day temp, 3= average of nights lowest temp, 4= average rain 5= sunhours. June 20 11,3 59 mm 266 July 21,1 13,1 68 mm 243 August 20,6 12,3 75 mm 220 So consider yourself proven wrong.
  4. a few Interesting meetings this week. I think Dackarnas problem is that they try to squeeze to many heat leaders as they can into the team but its not a good way to build your team. It wil make the team to top heavy and also it can cause bad spirits in the team. So i hope (and think) that Västervik might win another meeting at home. However Tomasz Chrzanowski is an ex Västervik rider and i think he might do quite well. I the end i say 56-44 i favor of Västervik. Also its a bit surprising that Dackarna won't even try Daniel K, especially at home since the track should suite his style and he did a very good first meeting on that track even if its 3 years ago. Valsarna vs. Piraterna Another good meeting but also another meeting with R/R for an long time injured rider. Anyway Valsarna have surprised many with their start of the season and i think that they wll be able to take their third straight win. And i hope they do to. SO go Valsarna and go Jerker (an ex-smederna team manager). Vargarna vs. Hammarby, I think Vargarna will show that they are difficult to beat on home soil. Hammarby without Gollob should not cause problems for Vargarna. But you'll never know. Indianerna vs. Lejonen. Its time for Lejonen to show that they want to make it to the playoffs since they cant use their old tactic with taking it easy in the series and then step up for the playoffs. However i don't think that Lejonen will be able to defeat Indianerna since they are showing a very good form this year. For Lejonen Madsen in is not a that big surprise since he is an ex Indianerna rider. Anyway despite that Bjerre makes his first ride of the season Indianerna is a bit too strong for Lejonen. Again i think its cheating (even if its not against the rules atm) that Dackarna still can use R/R for Pavlic and that Piraterna can use R/R for Dobrucki which they have done in every meeting since RD got injured. So for next season Svemo needs to change the rules so that R/R only can be used for a maximum of two meetings and that the injured rider needs to have ridden at least 4 meetings and 16 heats and R/R should be decided by season starting average and not rolling average, Finally good work Anders! It was nice to be "Off the hook" this week.
  5. i disagree, gardell did a good job and harris only have himself too blame for falling. riders should be able to stay upright even if they get a little push.
  6. oh very bad team riding but also very good riding by Pontus.
  7. Alan i'll do my best to answer your question: Teams own themselves and now days most teams usually have the actual elit team incorporated and those inc's stocks are by law or by a rule decided by RF forced to be owned to atleast 51% of the "parent clu"b. read this to understand more about how sports in Sweden are organized. A few team owns their arenas (like Dackarna) but most teams rent it. Stadiums are as far as i know community/city owned. yes they do. or well I guess that in some cases the programs are either free or the price is just for covering the cost of making them. hmm lets see... yes many cases and at least 2 or 3 team bankruptcies in the past 3-5 years, Lejonen are or was owing Leigh Adams about 50'000 GB. yes it has been suggested by Svemo. i think around 130-150 SEK which is about £12-15 GBP i don't know exactly why, but i think most teams have a certain amount of die-hard fans which wouldn't want to miss a meeting no matter what. oh easy because of the beautiful pine trees (and occasional birches) as well as the lovely sunsets and the picnic tables. BTW you forgot Thursdays, *edit @ racers, quite amusing that we answered almost exactly on nr 8.
  8. Well what to say? Vetlanda lost again and are firmly anchored at the bottom of the table after a narrow defeat by Indianerna, Obvioulsy Indianerna rode well but what the heck is wrong with Crump? Only 4p tonoght, anyone know if he have injury probnlems or etc? PK only managed 2p from three rides so perhaps replace him with Vaculik in the next meeting? Valsarna won another away meeting after a crushing victory away against Lejonen and one could also speculate about the reason for the sudden dip in performance from Lejonen. They hardly lost a meeting at home since they returned to Elitserien. Then suddenly they loose to Valsarna? Is it reality that is starting to catch up on them? Atleast Indianerna is performing according to their signings, they took ther 5th win out of 6 possible so its looking good for them.
  9. wikipedia actually have results from GPs but i don't know for how many years back. just replace 2009 with 2008 or 2007 in the url field to view those years. http://en.wikipedia....dway_Grand_Prix
  10. i understand what you mean but i dont agree with it, especially since PK isnt the rider here as he is in EL and imo Swe are stronger without him then with him.
  11. tv meeting between Piraterna and Vargarna is officially off.
  12. you can even the see the thunder flashes.
  13. look at this stream http://magictv.co/ and its absolutely pouring down. NO WAY that there is going be some racing at that track tonight.
  14. The tv meeting between Piraterna-Vargarna delayed because of rain and at 19.30 Swedish time a decision will be taken whether that meeting will go ahead or not. Live scores for tonights meetings: Elit Vetlanda- Indianerna http://www.aktuellsp....15.7.php?id=99 Piraterna - Vargarna http://www.aktuellsp...15.7.php?id=100 Hammarby - Västervik http://www.aktuellsp...15.7.php?id=101 Lejonen - Valsarna http://www.aktuellsp...15.7.php?id=102
  15. this stream is working good for me: http://www.veetle.co...w#4de650bc69917
  16. i don't agree about PK in. besides he is not interested since said a few years ago that he had done his part and that it was time to let the younger ones in. my 5 riders would be AJ,Freddie, Anto9, JD and THJ,
  17. the Swedish team has been nominated: Andreas Jonsson, Dackarna Fredrik Lindgren, Dackarna Antonio Lindbäck, Indianerna Simon Gustafsson, Indianerna Jonas Davidsson, Piraterna Tomas H Jonasson, Vetlanda Daniel Nermark, Valsarna Peter Ljung, Västervik Dennis Andersson, Lejonen David Ruud, Lejonen Zorro have declined participation.,
  18. Smederna's Linus Eklöf is injured after a crash two days ago. A dislocated elbow means three weeks with his arm in a cast. Linus will miss about a month of racing. This means that LInus probably will miss the back to back meetings with Avantia in the end (23rd &30th) of June. http://ekuriren.se/sport/speedway/1.1073816-linus-gipsad-efter-vurpa
  19. some general comments/opinions is that the rules needs to be changed for both R/R, for the calculation of floating averages and eligibility for riding at reserve needs to be changed. I think its way wrong that a team can use R/R for the same rider, week after week after week. it should be maximum two rounds per injury period. I also dislike the way that the alternating average is calculated as it gives to large variations from one round to the next. This also means that reserves can get a very high floating average which means that R/R can be used for them. This is resulting in that riders like, NIcholls, Sullivan, Ruud, Skornicki and similar riders can ride at the reserve in Elitserien which feels quite wrong.
  20. Elitserien Round 6, Tuesday June 7th All meetings start at 19.00 Swedish time. Elit Vetlanda - Indianerna , Vetlanda Motorstadion. Elit Vetlanda Janusz Kolodziej (PL) Thomas h Jonasson (SE) Jaroslaw Hampel (PL) Peter Karlsson (SE) Jason Crump (AU) Pawel Hlib Henric Lindqvist (SE) Indianerna Piotr Protasiewicz (PL) Joonas Kylmäkorpi (FI) Bjarne Pedersen (DK) Niels-kristian Iversen (DK) Antonio Lindbäck (SE) Simon Gustafsson (SE) Ryan Sullivan (AU) Before the season started everyone would have expected this to be a top meeting, however Elit Vetlanda have had huge problems this year and they are currently parked at last place with only 1 victory in the first five rounds and even though they are only 2 points away from 4th place . Again the reserves are Vetlanda's week point with Hlib and Lindqvist. Unfortunately for Vetlanda they don't have any o ther riders to go with if they wants to stay under the cap. I also understand that Vetlanda intends replace Balinski but there are most likely not much choice on riders to sign. Just read Vetlandas team managers comment on Vetlandas website and for some (covering up?) reason the team he mentions and the one registered are different. Indianerna on the other hand is so far keeping the steam up, they were expected to do well and so far they have done well. Especially Antonio have been riding very well and i hope that both he and Indianerna will continue to do well. I think if Indianerna wants to win this meeting they both needs to have their best gating boots and and especially Simon and Ryan needs to raise their level quite a bit but i do think that Indianerna have a very good chance of winning this. Hammarby - Västervik, Gubbängens IP Hammarby Grzegorz Walasek (PL) Robert Kosiecha (PL) Tomasz Gollob (PL) Rory Schlein (AU) Magnus Zetterström (SE) Andrej Karpov Alexander Edberg (SE) Västervik Sebastian Ulamek (PL) Tomasz Jedrzejak (PL) Chris Harris (GB) Nikolai Klindt (DK) Peter Ljung (SE) Pontus Aspgren (SE) Rafal Okoniewski (PL) Hammarby have their 3rd home meeting in 4 weeks and they shouldn't not have any problems at home with defeating Västervik. Hammarby have won their two previous home meetings but have lost their away meetings. Like Vetlanda's track Gubbängen have this season most been about who gates first is also the first to finish. Västervik will have to manage without Adam Shields who are injured. Rafal Okoniewski will step in at reserve as a replacement for Shields. Also its notable that Hammarby have "demoted" Golloob from nr 5 to nr 3. Possible because Gollobs scoring have been mediocre with an average score of 7,5/meeting. Lejonen - Valsarna, NTEX Arena. Lejonen Piotr Swiderski (PL) Dennis Andersson (SE) Chris Holder (AU) Darcy Ward (AU) Mikael Max (SE) Sebastian Aldén (SE) David Ruud (SE) Valsarna Grigorij Laguta (RU) Artem Laguta (LV) Krzysztof Buczkowski David Watt (AU) Daniel Nermark (SE) Ludvig Lindgren (SE) Scott Nicholls (GB) Lejonen are still undefeated at home and even if Valsarna made a very good performance last week when they won away against Dackarna i think Valsarna will struggle against Lejonen. Buczek switches position with Nicholls. Other changes for Valsarna is that Nermark is moved up to nr 1 and Grigorij Laguta is moved to nr 5. Piraterna-Vargarna, Biltema Arena Televised meeting. Piraterna Maciej Janowski (PL) Rafal Dobrucki (PL) R/R Jonas Davidsson (SE) Przemyslaw Pawlicki (PL) Greg Hancock (US) Daniel Davidsson (SE) Linus Sundström (SE) Vargarna: Lee Richardson (GB) Michael Jepsen jensen (DK) Nicki Pedersen (DK) Kim Nilsson (SE) Krzystof Kasprazak (PL) Adam Skornicki (PL) André Hertzberg (SE) Piraterna is 4th with 2 victories and two losses and the same goes for Vargarna who currently are 6th. This is the televised meeting and i think C+ made the correct decision when they chose this meeting as the TV meeting, since this could be a tight meeting with very good racing since the track usually can provide pretty good racing. Piraterna continues to use R/R for Dobrucki as its more favourable then to use another rider. Vargarna have by tradition had hard times at Piraterna's track and I don't think Vargarna will manage a win this time either since I think Piraterna really can benefit from the R/R and get extra heats for their 4 best riders. I also think that Piraterna's reserves are bit stronger combined then Vargarna's ditto which could be the decisive factor. Also interesting to see that Miedzinski & tai are out in favour of Jepsen Jensen & Skora. Also interesting to see that Michal Szczepaniak who have done good so far for Vargarna and also previously have ridden for Piraterna are left outside the team.
  21. poor riding by Gollob, second time he almost fenced Nicki tonight.
  22. sounds good that Daniel Gunnestad did well, hopefully we will see him ride for Smederna in their next meeting, home against Avantia on June 23rd.
  23. Bjerre was not happy with the track. "The track was lethal and there are more riders then me who thinks so, says Bjerre". apparently the were allot of wholes/ruts in the track. http://www.racemcspo...-danska-finalen
