  1. @Britpete, as far as R/R goes it is allowed for one R/R /meeting for either of the two riders that have the highest floating average. also the rules are available at: http://svemo.mediapaper.nu/rundbana/ some facts about tonights track: name: Gubbängens IP age: built in 1969 length: 387m
  2. its same in the way that it is 15 heats but those 15 heats looks a bit different and there sligthly sifferent rules (no jokers in Sweden, and some other rules for U21 riders and reserves).
  3. that is a good question. I don't know actually but i'll try to find out.
  4. as the situation looks now all meetings should be able to go ahead, it has rained some during the day but most of the rain seems to have moved on. Possibly the meeting in Kumla between Indianerna and Piraterna is still under threat due to some thunderstorms further west. Also Vargarna have signed 28 year old Michal Szczepaniak and he will ride tonight in the meeting between Vargarna and Valsarna. also its possible that Ryan Sullivan won't be able to ride tonight. He is feeling sick. He have taken some medication and are lying down to have a rest to see if the problems will go away.
  5. Lineups: Elit Vetlanda - Västervik Elit Vetlanda 1. Janusz Kolodziej 2. Patrick Hougaard 3. Thomas H Jonasson 4. Martin Vaculik 5. Jaroslaw Hampel 6. Peter Karlsson 7. Jacob Thorssell a few changed for Elit Vetlanda, Crump will not ride due to his shoulder injury and Janusz Koldziej had originally planned to rest this week but steps in, in the absence of Crump. Also this week PK and Vaculik in and Balinski out. Västervik 1. Adam Shields 2. Sebastian Ulamek 3. Chris Harris 4. Nicolai Klindt 5. Tomasz Jedrzejak 6. Pontus Aspgren 7. Peter Ljung Hammarby - Dackarna televised meeting live on Canal+ Sport 1(19.00) and Tv4 Sport (18.55), Hammarby 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2. Rory Schlein 3. Magnus Zetterström 4. Renat Gafurov 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Robert Kosciecha 7. Alexander Edberg Dackarna 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Artur Mroczka 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Jurica Pavlic 5. Rune Holta 6. Anders Mellgren 7. Ricky Kling Vargarna - Valsarna Vargarna 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Adam Skornicki 3. Nicki Pedersen 4. Michael J. Jensen MJJ is injured and will probably not ride tonight. Michal Szczepaniak replaces him. 5. Krzysztof Kasprzak 6. Kim Nilsson 7. Andre Hertzberg Vargarna suffers heavily from injury problems. Jepsen Jensen, Tai, Bogdanovs and Eric Andersson are injured meaning that Vargarna, SO its not looking good for Vargarna who are in a desperate need of a win after starting the season with two losses. Valsarna 1. Grigorij Laguta 2. Artem Laguta 3. Daniel Nermark 4. Tomasz Gapinski 5. Dave Watt 6. Ludvig Lindgren 7. Scott Nicholls Valsarna won their meeting last week home against Elit Vetlanda and i think they have a very good chance of defeating Vargarna. Have in mind that G. Laguta usually rides well at Vargarnas track and that Scott Nicholls have ridden for Vargarna for several seasons until switching to Valsarna for this season. Indianerna - Piraterna Indianerna 1. Niels Kristian Iversen 2. Joonas Kylmäkorpi 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Antonio Lindbäck 5. Bjarne Pedersen 6. Ryan Sullivan Henrik Gustafsson 7. Simon Gustafsson Piraterna 1. Greg Hancock 2. Maciej Janowski 3. Przemyslaw Pawlicki 4. Rafal Dobrucki R/R 5. Jonas Davidsson 6. Jesper B Monberg 7. Linus Sundström also the weather might be an issue tomorrow a front with rain will move up over the country during the night and it is likely that showers will remain when the front have passed so its still quite uncertain about tomorrows meetings. Lineups from: Aktuellspeedway.se
  6. its that Ullevi sometimes have a bunch of concerts/events during the summer but not every year. This year only the first weekend in July have concerts (Iron Maiden+Metallica/the big four). During mid July every year, Gothia Cup occupies the arena for two weekends and the week inbetween.
  7. Macca, if you've lived 3 years in Sweden you should know that there are no such things as sun-safe weeks. Especially not in Gbg where July & August on an average gets more rain compared to May. As i said before Gothenburg is situated in one of the rainiest regions in Sweden. Just take a look for yourself: http://sv.wikipedia....#Nederb.C3.B6rd http://en.wikipedia....theborg#Climate and you will see that your experience is not as accurate as you seems to believe.
  8. you should read all posts before posting a comment like that. so read the two posts that are linked below and you will realize that it wouldn't matter to stage it in July/August because the weather is not necessarily better at that time then it is in May, especially not on the west coast which is well known for its rainy weather. http://www.speedway-...dpost&p=1934360 http://www.speedway-...dpost&p=1934375
  9. the weather forecasts for tomorrow isn't really that good. decent on the morning but more rain expected towards and during the afternoon/evening.
  10. the raining started already around 15.00 local time so it had already rained for several hours when the meeting started.
  11. philip all weather forecasts + the radar images (which actually shows what the weather is like) showed that it was going to continue to rain all evening despite that they started as it would been a dry meeting. So i have to agree with ladyluck this time the meeting should not have been started at all.
  12. nope neither, all that was needed was a quick look at Wikpedia followed by another quick visit to metric conversions.
  13. actually there are three months for Gothenburg that is gets lets rain/snow and that is February, March and September. The average rainfall for Gothenburg in April-August is: 77,91, 80, 101 & 86mm = 3, 3.58, 3.15, 3.97 & 3.38 inches. The equivalent for Stockholm is 30, 30, 45, 72 & 66mm
  14. Sweden is a bit like Britain weather wise there are no safe months. Weather is very very unpredictable. They can hardly tell what the weather is gonna be like next week. There is no way to tell from year to year what weeks are going be sunny/rainy. And i'd say that it does not matter if its in may-September not so big difference when it comes to the certainty of the weather. The only safe regarding the weather is that the west coast is much more likely to get rain then the eastern part of the country This is because most low pressures/rain weathers origins from the north Atlantic and moves in from the west via GB, North Seas, Denmark and the Skagerak.
  15. nope because the track have been rubbish every year and will continue to be rubbish if they choose to stay at ullevi. since if its dry conditions the track will quickly be full of ruts and holes and when it rain well you can see the for yourself what its like. also there other options. two new stadiums are being in Stockholm and they are very similar to millenium stadium cardiff / parken copenhagen. both when it comes to size and retractable roof which means the track will not be exposed to rain.
  16. i really hope this is the last time ever that a gp is held at ullevi.
  17. the commentators said so too. not especially fair conditions.
  18. perhaps but doesnt the rule say that you will get excl if you cross the inside line with both weels?
  19. Well i didnt expect anything else, crowd size have decreased for every year since they returned to Ullevi. Hi Alan.
  20. nope such cameras are illegal. but i did find a cameras placed on the roof of the stadium: http://goteborg.traf...lkungabroarna-/ http://goteborg.traf...-mot-Rantorget/ & a photo from the shot-put ring on the innerfield: http://gpbloggen.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/bild-324.jpg?w=1920&h=1080
  21. some webcams from Göteborg: http://www.webbkamer...r_gbg_centr.php Ullevi: http://www.webbkamer...gbg_910_911.php
  22. radar images from smhi: http://www.smhi.se/vadret/nederbord-molnighet/norden http://www.smhi.se/vadret/nederbord-molnighet/blixtar
  23. rain is predicted from around 15.00 local time and for the rest of the evening. A quick look at the radar image shows that showers have started to move their way up along the west coast, so it doesn't look good at the moment. And Ullevi usually is first to gate = first across the finish line.
