with Hammarby's sudden entrance into Elitserien, Svemo have made a slight modification to the relegations. in 2011 two teams will be relegated to Allsvenskan to make it 8 teams in Elitserien 2012, The team that finishes 9th in Elitserien will be directly demoted to Allsvenskan while teams 5-8 will meet in a run-off to decide which team that will follow the 9th to Allsvenskan. http://mvt.se/sport/speedway/1.1012828-tva-lag-aker-ur-elitserien

Lejonen still have one slot to fill. Each squad can have 8 riders (Swedish 0,500 riders doesn't count) and three guestriders.

Hammarby appealed Svemo's speedway section's decision about not giving them a place in Elitserien and now the Federation board have decided that Hammarby if they want will be allowed to participate in Elitserien. http://www.svemo.se/...Elitserien2011/ IMO this is not good, Allsvenskan will have one team less and Elitserien will have 9 teams which means that each week one team will have to rest just like in 2010. Then most of the teams have already made their budgets and signings for next season and now they have to redo their budgets? Then it also means that teams like Valsarna and Västervik now have another competitor for the riders that still are available which means that those riders can ask for more pay which means worse economy for those three teams.

Lejonen have signed, Darcy Ward, Kenneth Bjerre & Leon Madsen. Mikael Max, Sebastian Aldén and Mathias Thörnblom have been contracted as guest riders. This means that Lejonen have one place left to fill. http://www.lejonen.se/

Davey Watt have signed with Valsarna. http://www.vf.se/sport/watt-till-valsarna Lejonen have announced their squad just a couple of minutes ago but their website is not working so i'll update that later.

yeah. Stekkers didn't want to have Madsen in the team due to Madsen's "incident" with the silencer.
-
too bad, but not totally unexpected, i can recall that he made a statement a few years ago that he only would do 2-3 more seasons. And do you have a written source? *edit* i found a link: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2010/11/15/wieslaw-jagus-zakonczyl-kariere/

Nässjö Speedway (NSK) will be able to purchase the mandatory airfence that is needed for arranging competitive meetings on their track. Nässjö speedway have been granted to back NSK with a financial guarantee so that they can take a loan at the bank to purchase the airfence without jeopardizing the clubs activity. http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=91&artikel=4172652

However today Svemo have made another 180 degree turn and finally decided that Hammarby will not be allowed to join Elitserien for 2011. Hammarby though have decided to take the matter to the Swedish CAS. http://www.svemo.se/...elitserien2011/ http://www.eurosport.se/speedway/bajen-fick-nej-fran-svemo_sto2536564/flashnews.shtml

http://www.nt.se/spo...ticleid=6399866 there is not yet any info why Svemo suddenly have made a 180 degree turn, however it is believed that the Swedish RIN, which is like a Swedish CAS, might be behind the decision since Hammarby have said all the time that they would fight for their right to a place in Elitserien.

latest news is that svemo will meet on Monday to clear out all rumours regarding Hammarby.

yes, he will stay with Piraterna (see first page)

Sure there are still riders that have not signed with a team but imo not enough rides to fill the remaining positions. here is the situation the following team need the following amount of riders; (main squad+ guest riders) Dackarna 1+3 EVS 1+0 Ind 2+3 Lej 3+3 Pir 1+1 Vals 7+3 Varg 0+1 Väst 7+3 Hammarby 8+3 which is 30 main squad riders and 20 guestriders

i think its right that Hammarby as winners of the Allsvenskan play off are offered a place in Elitserien. However SVEMO should have done it from the beginning and not when there is just 3 weeks until teams are to be registered. How is Hammarby supposed to be able to find riders now? Currently even without Hammarby there are three teams that are far from finished, Lejonen, Valsarna and Västervik ad a 4th team to that and well there really aren't that many rider good riders left to sign. and The pricetag on them just went up. I think its very unfair for Hammarby to be told that they now must find riders for Elitserien when many teams already have filled their squad.

Chris Harris have signed with Västervik which means that 2011 will be his 6th consecutive season with them.
