Grand Prix Calendar and Venues 2019
Ghostwalker replied to james1234's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Te London Olympic stadium is a super fancy stadium and sold out gp would probably be very nice but the cost to rent the place for the needed time would be astronomical. If you want to have a GP in Manchester then you put it in the National Speedway stadium. However, a GP at the NSS would have to be in the summer. I also would like cease the opportunity to say welcome to the BSF. -

Elitserien 2018 round 11, 31 July
Ghostwalker replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
He was at first but then Vetlanda brought him in again (for rest of season) in the transfer window since Miskowiak became injured. See this post: -
I doubt that Hampel is even remotely considered for a wild card. With Kolodziej and Janowski (unless long term injured) already safe for 2019 the only way they hand out a wild card to a Polish rider is if Dudek misses out on top 8 and then it'll be Dudek who gets the wild card. Round 11 Preliminary line-ups: Eskilstuna Smederna (45)- Vetlanda (45) #televised focus meeting Eskilstuna Smederna Fredrik Lindgren Mikkel Michelsen Michael Jepsen Jensen Pontus Aspgren Niels Kristian Iversen Andzejs Lebedevs Alexander Woentin Vetlanda Artem Laguta Tomas H Jonasson Brady Kurtz //Leon Madsen will probably ride as nr 3 from what is expected. Szymon Wozniak Bartosz Zmarzlik Johan Jensen //it is also possible that Magnus Karlsson will replace on of the reserves but we'll see. Kasper Lykke Nielsen Dackarna (44) - Kumla Indianerna (46) Dackarna Greg Hancock Pawel Przedpelski Oliver Berntzon Patryk Dudek Maciej Janowski Hans Andersen Joel Kling Kumla Indianerna Tai Woffinden Kacper Gomolski Kenneth Bjerre Anders Thomsen Vaclav Milik Ludvig Lindgren Victor Palovaara Västervik (42) - Rospiggarna (48) Västervik Nicki Pedersen Bartosz Smektala Peter Ljung Martin Vaculik Peter Kildemand Mikkel Bech Anton Karlsson Rospiggarna Andreas Jonsson Jason Doyle R/R (everyone) Robert Lambert Samuel Masters Max Fricke Jacob Thorssell Tero Aarnio Lejonen (54) - Masarna (36) Lejonen Kacper Woryna Rohan Tungate Piotr Pawlicki Maksym Drabik Mathias Thörnblom Viktor Bergström Alexander Edberg Masarna Antonio Lindbäck John Lindman Kim Nilsson Joel Andersson Linus Sundström Jesper Persson Emil Millberg I think the first three meetings will be really close and cracking meetings. I wouldn't be surprised to see Indianerna with Woffinden, Bjerre, Thomsen and Milik winning against Dackarna even though they look really strong too. Västervik should win at home against a Rospiggarna without Doyle. Smederna - Vetlanda could go in any direction but I think Vetlanda is favourites with their current form. Weather forcasts: Weather is a bit unpredictable at the moment. Thunders and showers are expected for most tracks and these can pop up a bit whenever and wherever they like so it is hard to know before they show up. Gislaved (Lejonen) is expected to have hot and sunny weather. Yeah sorry , missed a 0 at the end. I Went to Stockholm twice and it was decent but Friends arena was way too big. I think they might have done better at Tele 2 arena which is slightly large then half of Friends arena. Also the infrastructure at Friends wasn't that good when the arena was new. 20000 at Tele2 would have made it look fuller and gotten a better atmosphere then at Friends. -
The continuing decline of Speedway

The rules for the Swedish leagues change every winter despite that Svemo is in charge. Allot of the rule changes are suggestions from the clubs in one way or another and then Svemo implements them. Before last season teams had agreed on to have three Swedish riders in the line-ups but Anders Fröjd decided that he only wanted two and threatened to pull out of ESS (similar to BSPA) if he didn't get his will through. The other clubs then chickened out and accepted his demand. -
One can't use two meetings as merit to pick this or that rider. One could also your argument to claim that Cookie have only been good at two meetings (Cardiff and tonight) but Lambert does well in both Poland (1st division) and Sweden (Elitserien) while Cookie doesn't ride in those leagues at all. IMO Lambert has a much higher capacity then Cookie and also much higher potential.

IMO Thornaby have a point when it comes to R/R, tactical subs, joker double points and guests and no mid-season transfer windows. These are rules that I think need to be removed. I want 6 or 7 riders doing four heats each + nomination heats. Like Thornaby says, keep it simple. I do however disagree about his aversion against modern things such as phone apps, social media and etc. Those are essential in the 21st century. -

Perhaps the problem isn't the stadiums but BSI's inability to promote their own event, charging too high tickets prices and etc. If you charge €50 for a ticket and 10'000 show up you get €500k in incomes + food/beverages purchases - poor atmosphere = people will not come back. If you charger €25 for a ticket and 30'000 show up you get €750K in incomes + + food/beverages purchases + a good atmosphere = people will come back. -

I think it's the same for the Swedish GPs, especially when being so close together.Personally I would scrap both Målilla and Hallstavik and have the GP at Västervik. I know Målilla is well established and G&B is a very good arena. Västervik is a nice little city on the coast though and I think it would be a nice place for a gp. Especially now when the track have become really good. It won't happen though. -

I would think Målilla and Hallstavik will return. Torun will probably be in as well and the same goes for Horsens. If there will be Målilla, Horsens and Hallstavik next year they need to spread them out more. -
