Greg Hancock Hurt?
Ghostwalker replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well his record is doing very good at all rounds even if he doesn't win every GP. Looking at his results in the 2017 SGP in those SGP rounds he rode in, he only have one final appearance (Czech GP) and only one other top 8 finish. His points are 11 4 5 18 7, not really that good. Struggling may be an exaggeration but his results so far are definitely a decline compared to last season. In the Swedish Elitserien his average have dropped from 2.095 to 1.800 which is a drop with about 14% . He is steady in Poland though. It was same discussion with Gollob and Adams. Wild cards for long and faithful service were some fans' opinion. I have never understood the point of giving a wild card to a rider that is at the end of his career. I stick with my opinion that it is better to look forward instead of looking backwards. -

Greg will test today (Tuesday) whether or not he can ride on Saturday. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.speedweek.com%2Fspeedwaygp%2Fnews%2F114002%2FMalilla-GP-Groc39fe-Frage-e28093-Hancock-oder-Smolinski.html&edit-text= -

IMO, he have done his part in the SGP series. He struggled so far this season, what says next year will be any better? You have to look ahead, not look at the past. -
Målilla Gp 2017

They actually borrowed covers from Vetlanda last year. I think we will see a similar situation in Målilla as in Hallstavik. Most of the rain will fall from around 8pm so if that is correct, then we'll see a dry start and a wet finish to the GP. -

No it wouldn't. There is no need to waste a wild card on Greg. Let him go. -
Well it is hardly surprising that fans stay away when the weather was like it was. It was for the same reason expected that the racing and track quality would be pretty bad. Rospiggarna have a fairly good attendance of almost 4000 on average per meeting. Had the weather been steadily nice I think the crowd would have been pretty good. There isn't anything one can do about the weather. Sure they could have covered the track and held the meeting tomorrow but you know what it's like with TV and the polish clubs. We can be glad/relieved that there weren't any injuries because of the track and etc.

Pontus Aspgren will replace him https://www.facebook.com/eskilstunasmederna/posts/1453647684728715 A large rain system is working it's way down over eastern Svealand and Hallstavik is in it's path. Hallstavik is between Östhammar and Norrtälje https://www.smhi.se/vadret/nederbord-molnighet/radar-blixt#colorblind=false,layerselected=5min

Wozniak, Woryna, Drabik or Pzem Pawlicki would have been better choices for the wild card.

There was one a few years ago but it had rained then. -
Smederna are now allowed to replace Grigorij Laguta since Svemo have changed their mind. According to an article in the local newspaper, Smederna are interested in Nicki P and Madsen. Obviously signing Nicki would be a huge risk and something that easily could backfire. I don't know about Madsen either. I know he have being doing very good in Poland but I don't see him as a reliable heat leader and team player. However there aren't that many more riders to choose from. Possible Kolodzej but I have my doubts about him as well. http://eskilstunasmederna.se/fritt-fram-att-ersatta-laguta/ https://www.ekuriren.se/eskilstuna/smedernas-drag-jagar-nicki-pedersen/ (might be behind paywall) Valsarna have decided to return to Allsvenskan next season. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/sverige/dennis-jonsson-tar-farval-och-valsarna-lamnar-klartecken-till-allsvenskan/
