  1. See this for what Swedish meetings they are showing. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=85145 It will be quarter finals leg 2 this week with Dackarna - Smederna being the main meeting.Semi finals are next week (Tue-Wed) but it isn't known yet what matchups there will be.
  2. I listened to the latest episode of Metanolpodd. One of the hosts had shared a car with Krister Gardell from Kumla to Eskilstuna on Tuesday last week. Krister Gardell is supposed to have said Gorzow like all Ekstraliga teams have to put new dirt on the track after the halfway point of the season. This is supposed to have caused that the new and old dirt/track material hadn't bonded properly.
  3. First post have beem updated with the line ups for the second leg of the quarter finals.
  4. Valsarna have announced their team managers for their Allsvenskan comeback. It'll be Robert Henderson and Lars ”Jesus” Andersson. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/sverige/allsvenskan/valsarna-presenterade-nya-lagledare-infor-allsvenska-aterkomsten/
  5. Personally I wouldn't mind a complete re-shuffling of race nights for UK, Swe and DK. I have no absolutely no idea if this would work for the UK tracks but anyway what I would like to see (but very likely will never happen) is Mondays UK Tuedays UK Wednesdays Sweden Elitserien Thursdays Denmark and Swedish Allsvenskan Fridays Denmark and Poland do have some of the meetings on Fridays Saturdays SGP/SEC/U21 WCH and etc (could also use a reserve days when no championships are held) Sundays Poland This might not be possible but I feel it would be more efficient with less travel or riders who ride in several of the leagues which also would means less travel expenses for teams/clubs, Riders who ride in both UK and Sweden would also have a little more time for rest since they wouldn't have to do UK-Sweden-UK/Denmark-Sweden/Poland/Denmark. Instead it would be: UK->Sweden->Denmark/Poland/UK/stay in Sweden. I don't know if it makes a big difference in the end though.
  6. Well, you are not wrong but no team relies on attendances to 100 percent and sponsors play, if not equal, then at least a very important role as well. Most teams would suffer if attendances were to drop dramatically or of sponsorship were to decrease dramatically. Some teams, like Piraterna, are struggling yes but that is more because of a too optimistic budgeting combined with a "win now attitude" meaning signing riders that are a bit too expensive compared to what a reasonable budget would allow. Obviously if you budget for 3000 on average, you are going to have problems if only 2500 on average show up. I'd say that the 4 top teams in the attendance league this season have a better average then needed while the rest of the teams are too low except Indianerna who ended up with positive results thanks to having a cheap team.
  7. Holstebro qualified themselves for the semi after a drama tonight where they just beat Region Varde with 43-42. https://www.facebook.com/metalspeedwayleague/photos/a.1380115475348330.1073741826.113869148639642/1935297689830103/?type=3&theater
  8. Nordic longtrack championship from Mantorp horse racing track will be shown live at Svemo play http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Nyheter/SeNordisktMasterskapilongtrackpaSvemoplay/ It is Pay per view and will costs 89 SEK (about 7-8 pounds something). Some "silly season" stuff at masarna's site. http://www.masarna.nu/sillyseason/
  9. Well that is pretty much the same as Prague and Vojens were for many years, super slick tracks with very little passing. They key question, as always, is whether or not BSI can make a nice profit from it.
  10. Teero Arnio will replace Lunna in Rospiggarna's squad but he will not tide on Tuesday. Rospiggarna will use Freddie Eriksson and Jacob Thorssell at reserve. Morris will also ride. http://www.unt.se/sport/dubbla-gladjebesked-for-rospiggarna-4742526.aspx
  11. Smederna have been pretty good this season at progressing the meetings rapidly. Meetings have usually been done in little over 1½ hour.
  12. Philip won his semifinal yesterday, why do they have sf again? Seems very illogical.
  13. Full Swedish version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udW_Uy7_Rb0
  14. Good win for Philip Hellström-Bängs, one of many talented riders from little Avesta.
  15. Nike Lunna is out for the rest of the season with two broken bones in his back as well as a broken shoulder. http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/sverige/elitserien/lunnas-sasong-over-efter-gardagens-krasch/ https://www.facebook.com/NikeLunna/photos/a.554016024617384.128069.531910436827943/1674381212580854/?type=3&theater
  16. 2 min cancelled due to a riders in the pit needing medical attention.
  17. Smederna is out of luck it seems. Lebedevs is up but I we will se if he will ride anymore tonight.
  18. As far as I know he is riding, he rode last week as well. Smederna's riders and team managers have sponsored Smederna's supporter group with money for Bengal fires and fire works. https://www.ekuriren.se/sport/superviktig-match-da-blir-fansen-sponsrade-av-smedlaget/
  19. The series are over and it's time for the Swedish Elitserien championship cup where the Swedish team champion will be crowned. Elit Vetlanda and Masarna are seeded to the semi finals while teams placed 3-6 will face each other in the quarter finals. Schedule: Tuesday August 29th quarter finals leg 1: Eskilstuna Smederna - Dackarna live Cmore sport and Premiersports. Eskilstuna Smederna 1. Matej Zagar 2. Pontus Aspgren 3. Grzegorz Walasek 4. Mikkel Michelsen 5. Andzejs Lebedevs 6. Michael Jepsen Jensen 7. Linus Eklöf Dackarna 1. Fredrik Lindgren 2. Peter Ljung 3. Patryk Dudek 4. Rune Holta 5. Maciej Janowski 6. Joel Kling 7. Mads Korneliussen I still don't get it why MJJ have a place in the lineup when we can use Madsen? MJJ have been very poor in this year's Elitserien and he have scored 0:s in about 30% of his heats but still have a place. There have been some lame excuses to why Madsen isn't riding which I don't buy. Lejonen - Rospiggarna live on C more live Lejonen 1. Piotr Pawlicki 2. Maksym Drabik 3. Chris Holder (K) 4. It was very surprising to see Karpov as #2 but it is speculated that Smederna will use R/R for him since all riders can do one of his heat. ——— Rospiggarna - Elit Vetlanda #tv meeting Rospiggarna Jason Doyle Max Fricke Andreas Jonsson Jacob Thorssell Timo Lahti Nicklas Porsing Freddie Eriksson Elit Vetlanda Martin Vaculik Szymon Wozniak Jaroslaw Hampel Tobiasz Musielak Bartosz Zmarzlik Oliver Berntzon Tomas H Jonasson Wednesday September 13th Semi finals leg 2 Eskilstuna Smederna - Masarna #tv meeting Eskilstuna Smederna Michael Jepsen Jensen (K) Pontus Aspgren Andzejs Lebedevs Mikkel Michelsen Matej Zagar Grzegorz Walasek Linus Eklöf Masarna Przemyslaw Pawlicki Artur Czaja Tai Woffinden Linus Sundström Antonio Lindbäck Joel Andersson Kim Nilsson ------- Elit Vetlanda - Rospiggarna a 4th attempt will be held on Sep 21st.
