Been the same way for a quite a few year now and I can't see it changing unless someone with money comes in buys the woofs out. To be honest the Newcastle fans have seen decades of exciting speedway to match anywhere in the country. If riders like Mauger, Olsen, Michanek, the Owens, Nikki/Bjarne, Kenneth give it the thumbs up then that's good enough for me.

Still enough to completely out point you though and that's the point - it's an aggregate win. We have also quite comfortably beaten Somerset over the 2 meetings on aggregate scores already least you forget. Still think you're biased based on Newcastle due to the meetings at Scunthorpe. The 2 teams I'm more nervous about are Glasgow and Edinburgh to be honest as they have riders who ride Newcastle very well consistently and I'd rather face Somerset over 2 legs than those 2. Time will tell though.

Newcastle's away form is good and they have not failed to get below 40 points in any match apart from your team's track which for some reason we just can't ride and also we did have our two top riders missing - so imho your opinion maybe a bit biased on what you have seen. Also if we are stuffing everyone at home then surely that makes us favourites as the whole point is to get an aggregate win over 2 legs.

Surely a typo there

Might do better as Mr Worrall would no doubt get more than the 4 from his R/R rides although to be fair I wouldn't expect Paul Starke to only get 2+2 next time round either. Got no doubt the 2 teams will meet again (once or twice) and we will see then. Think both sets of supporters have every right to feel confident about their teams chances. MK could be the big key as he seems to be hitting form at the right time which has seen his scores improve both home and away - if this form continues I think any team will be hard pushed to match Newastle over 2 legs.

Remember the best weekend tour I had (not in results) was September 1993 with Peterbrough away on the Friday, Swindon v NUFC on the Saturday afternoon (with George English, Big Sean (RIP) and we tried to get Paul Thorpe to go with us as we had a spare ticket but he bottled it at the last minute ) and then Swindon in the evening when Jason Crump tore us one up. Great events the away weekends used to love them and more often than not the riders stopped in the same hotel as the supporters.

Seems Robert's form has dipped a little over the last month or so but he is only 18 and has huge potential. His bug bear seems to be his gating as he has the speed to beat anyone in the world as he has already proven. Can you coach gating or does he need to work more on his reflexes - I'm sure he doesn't need me to tell him and will no doubt be seeking advice and working on his gating technique consistency - he can gate though so there is something to work on. IMHO if he get's his gating sorted on a consistent basis he will be a big contender as a future world champion.

I'd go for the strongest everytime but that's me and seems pretty split on views as to what is best and I cansee both points of view but the proof will be in the pudding at the end of the season and as I said hopefully it's proved my views are not upheld.

I will comment on this any rider(s) can be injured at any time that's part of speedway and I will put it to you what happens if Ashley Morris gets injured then you are in exactly the same boat. I'm a big believer that you should put out your best riders in the position that they will have the maximum advantage to the team. VP at reserve would give that and again imho gives us the best chance of covering LR. Too late now but George will be judged at the end of the season if he was right or wrong and I sincerely hope he was right.

I'm not biting to the end of the season Dave I promise

Even if we won everything doesn't change the lad should have been replaced so yes it was imho - not going to keep ranting about it though - for the last time until maybe the season is over, I think 3 big mistakes have been made one at the start of the season, one 2 - 5 months after and one on Sunday evening. We will see how much it effects things come the end of the season but like everyone you are entitled to your opinion :-)
-
Thing is Dave anyone I would argue would do better he is 95% of the time way off the pace and a lot of is points have been gifted to him. Someone should have been giving an opportunity months ago as he has averaged about 1.4 points since he started. Disagree strongly on this subject and have all season and have stated that to HalifaxTiger also - if that's the state of British speedway when riders like DP are getting places for an entire season when they are clearly not up to standard then god help us - rant over Might be true but it's totally the wrong decision.
-
It's not freaking out, I just think we would have been stronger with VP at reserve. I'm more concerned about DP still being in the team to be honest and I know I keep bleating on about it but I just can't understand how and why he has not been replaced.
-
Would not have been my way to go but decision has been made and I can see why - still think it's the wrong one though. The more important thing which has not been done and expecially with AM being introduced and our reserve pairing weakened quite a bit; was to replace DP at the same time. Got to say I find it absolutely amazing that he has not been replaced months ago and for the few on here who have said who would replace him, I would say anyone as they surely could not do any worse.
