  1. My thoughts exactly. Friday's are are one hell of a gamble if not researched fully.
  2. Hope you're in this one for the long haul mate, he never admits he's wrong and will keep coming back until you lose the will to live.
  3. Well. If I wasn't hacked off enough with Glasgow's performance on Saturday. Reading some of the above from the wide-eyed Minions, I'm now even more hacked off tonight. I've obviously missed out on the quality ganja being served to a few of the BSF Scotwasted Monarchs on Saturday night. Penny's just dropped! The Armadale centre field is a ganja farm - hence the poor appearance. And the bruvvers are funding club survival! Genius man, pure genius. Irie!
  4. For those wanting to know about the meetings. 1st Leg - Paid £20. Got programme. Bought scarf, pens, car stickers, mugs, ladies lingerie - in fact anything with leopard skin on it. But not Craig Cook's posing pouch (still in police evidence bag). Cold night. Beer. Parade - Wolbert gets warm welcome - Gripped hands moving up/down at the wrist, booing, etc Stop/start. Stop/start. Stop/start. Bloomin' freezing now. Hot chocolate. Wait for ambulance. Only six heats done by 9:15. Went to toilet, butler handing out towels. Ambulance arrives. Stop/start. James Sarjeant - perfect start, Embra fans (200m away) claim he was moving. Like a bat out of hell leads Craig Cook before he ate dirt. Glasgow fans roar/laugh/boo/cheer/make visual signs/all of the above. Speedway meeting broke out during full on, excellent entertainment. Roary and Roxy got hitched. Brass monkey spotted crying. Embra fans/team/promotion/entourage/physios/therapists/freebie hangers on (loads of them)/cleaning ladies/psychologists - complain they can't see anything due to poor lighting - but claim Sarjeant was moving! You decide. Stevie Wonder seen giving a perfect commentary for the meeting DVD. End of season awards and speeches. Letter handed out. Brass monkey taken away in second ambulance. 2nd Leg - Paid zilch. Got a lifty over. Didn't get programme. Got blue rinse and bob hair cut in attempt to blend in with locals. Opened first can of carry out sneaked in. Edinburgh do a professional job. Ed the Monarch spotted in the distance on the centre field making an attempt to entertain (looking like a desperate man in a toilet queue) Glasgow didn't turn up. Saw 4 coloured helmets going past 3rd/4th hairpin bend 51 times. Should have been 60, but there were fallers - want my money back! James Sarjeant shows he cares - Embra fans saw it as spitting his dummy out. Craig Cook falls off whilst leading by 3 laps - history made. Went to toilet, wished I was wearing my wellies. Wolbert pumps his chest - must be the phlegm. Some Embra official from the safety of the track gesticulates to Tigers fans for 10 minutes to stop flashing - their cameras Craig - cameras! Put it away. Glasgow fans pray he forgets to leave track before racing starts. What a sh!tebag! Ed the Monarch seen running from the dog kennel (sorry, stadium) when rumours spread Walter Palmer (aka Cecil the lion hunter) was in the crowd. Edinburgh won. Put out of misery. Fireworks. Stevie Wonder complained it was too dark. Left Wiped dog poo off shoes (why is there always one at the Armadale entrance?) Went home. Cat now at the vets. Finished carry out. Made some abusive comments on Facebook. Cried myself to sleep.
  5. I agree with every point you make there. What I'd add is there's a lot of emotive talk around this, probably fuelled on one side by the nature of some comments in the letter - fair dues to those Edinburgh fans for feeling that way, don't blame them. Looking at it rationally thought: 1. Really how many fans would it take away from Edinburgh? 2. A key point for me is - there seems to be an underlying assumption that it would attract fans away from Edinburgh? Why? Surely Edinburgh has an attractive product in terms of racing? No? OK Glasgow now has a better off-track product, but why the assumption that it will hit Edinburgh? Especially from Edinburgh fans/promotion. 3. Would it really take any fans away at all? If so, how many neutrals are out there? Certainly don't see many posting on here - albeit that's not a true indicator. 4. How many neutrals currently visit both tracks on a weekend anyway? Cost and time probably means people chose one or the other at weekends. So what would be different if both run on a Friday? 5. The Northern tour argument - how many teams don't do northern tours in the league now? Have a look at the fixtures this year, did very team that went to Edinburgh on a Friday, do Glasgow on the Sunday ... No they didn't.
  6. Brilliant! BSPA no longer have jurisdiction over Scotland .... Friday's for Glasgow it is then!
  7. Serious point. If there is a 30 mile rule, then how and when was 30 miles decided. It's like speed limits based on braking distance ... if anyone saw it on Top Gear you'll know what I mean. If this is an "old" rule then transport has improved much since. Now the less serious point. How many of Embras fans actually come from Armadale? Surely most are "old school" and come from places further East. i.e. more than 30 miles away.
  8. I'm sure you're jesting here! Not many neutrals who think ... "Shall I put my blue or green scarf on today?"
  9. Didn't know I was bitter and twisted, but hey, if you say so it must be. Must have been someone else who made the post on the meeting thread after Edinburgh's deserved win. BTW if you get personal with posters expect something in return. Finally, thanks for the amusement you've given our household ... you're not to know this but ... "dwarf"! ... couldn't be further from the truth! LOL!
  10. As Embra are a "community" miles from their their natural home, does that make them the left footers then?
  11. If we signed Fisher, we'd definitely need two ambulances for home meetings.
  12. Agree - Victor is too nice ... "Excuse me fellow rider, do you mind if I go past you?"
  13. Have you seen Edinburgh FB today? You'd think they'd got beat. Talk about "Humble in victory, gracious in defeat" I always thought it was us Weegies that had a chip on the shoulder in the job description ... some of that lot take the biscuit!
  14. Because as you know, there are some diddies out there that are looking for any excuse.
  15. In fairness to MrB, Gaz I can't even remember him attacking a poster on here. So can't imagine he condones unacceptable behaviour. He's right, there were people on edge ... I was one of them. And he's also right .. the letter did add fuel - just need to see FB. When it comes to unacceptable behaviour, instead of people wearing their team colours , decent fans should join as one and simply point out those guilty to the appropriate authorities.
  16. With Edinburgh's future in doubt .... The Facenna's should: Buy the Armadale dog stadium. Reduce the Monarch's rent. Run dogs on a Friday night. BSPA have no jurisdiction over waste land, sorry dog kennels. Job done! Problems "go away" (thanks for prompting the idea Lord Cyclone with your Soprano comments) Cue .... Lord Cyclone ( AKA - he who must be obeyed, AKA - how high sir?, AKA I was moist last night at the grace, beauty and sheer wonderment of the most glorious set of 7 men this planet has been privileged to accommodate). Monarchladette! (AKA - Speak and spell)
  17. Pains me to say it, but has to be said .... Well done Monarchs. Better team over the two legs, won fair and square. In my opinion you'd won the league anyway by topping it over 24 meetings. So only right you took the spoils tonight. That was hard to type, but needed to be said. Beer anyone?
  18. How ironic when the Monarchs bring up Glasgow's substantial investment in a negative sense. Without it, we wouldn't have floodlights. Without floodlights, their choice for PL Final dates would have been either: 1. First leg at Edinburgh last night, second at Glasgow tomorrow. So they don't get favoured second leg at home. 2. First leg Glasgow tomorrow, second leg after Masters/Sedgmen gone home. Hmmm!
  19. I'd heard a rumour, not sure how reliable it was, that it's Ingliston for Embra in 2016. However, as that's more than 30 miles from Ashfield it wouldn't tie up with last night's letter.
