Glasgow V Rye House Sunday 13th Sept @ 3pm
george.m replied to Gazc's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
From my POV it's not really a complaint directed at Rye House, just a general frustration with our sport and the speedway/weather gods. -

Ah! When you said last few years, I thought you meant last few years! But anyway: 2010 - Joe Screen, Travis McGowan, Josh Grajczonek, Nick Morris, James Grieves, etc 2009 - Shane Parker (we're not worthy!), Josh Grajczonek, James Grieves Yeah, horsesh!t. Aye, right! -

Heard from an official club source that we can't be arsed riding on Friday and there's a big p155 up at the Tigers Den instead. Makes perfect sense to me. -

tyretrax, didn't you know the Glory Hunters, at all times, prioritise the best interests of the sport over themselves. Tut, tut. -

Clearly Doyle has a few things to learn about riding in the GPs, and he isn't learning too quick. -
Speedway Star Interview With Alex Harkess
george.m replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The two things speedway needs to give it a chance of a brighter future is leadership and a business plan. The current system doesn't allow this. Whether it's Mr Harkess or anyone else in charge the ability to make decisions in favour of the greater good just isn't there. There's simply too much self-interest. Needs an impartial leader, not connected with any clubs. All the ideas posters come up with are well intended, but under the current system it's just moving the deck chairs in reality. Strong leadership, with decisions made within the framework of a plan is the way forward. -

What I'd say to you both is what I posted on Glasgow FB page when asked my opinion of the Summers/Worrall incident ... "Picture sequences can sometimes be misleading. First picture isn't necessarily the start of the incident. Angles can also mislead" Show one picture to 10 people and you can get 10 different opinions. DSC 0446 - It could be said Wright is pointing to go across Lawson. Please note I said "could" as I don't post pictures to make a point. With Summers / Worrall my recollection is that Worrall looked like he was loosing balance. But, and it's a big but, if you've ever taking pics you'll know you don't really see the action. You're concentrating on getting the picture right. BTW - Flickr is a pain in the arse when uploading, pics don't always go in the order you want. Hence go by photo number to see sequences. -

Appreciate you're just having a bit of fun here Cyclone, no issues with that at all. As you weren't there yesterday, to help you understand it was an event filled day, it could even be said a speedway meeting took place somewhere within the 3 hours. Genuinely, there was hardly a heat that ran without incident. Mr Worrall, through his own actions, got himself onto the front and back pages of the paper. Bearing in mind he's a Glasgow supporters favourite based on recent performances in guesting for us, the crowd reaction to him in heat 3 tells it's own tale. The Lawson/Wright incident is inside news compared to many other things yesterday, so that might just be one of the reasons now one's mentioned it. Anyway, if you're interested here's some pics of it ... https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasgowtigersspeedway/? -

Yes, Gaz, we had our pants take down and our arses spanked by the better and more hungry team. No doubt. Worrall's post incident actions crossed the line, and I'll give Cyclone the benefit of the doubt as he's a reasonable poster ... on track racing incidents are part of the sport (whether right or wrong) ... violent conduct towards others can't really be compared with it.
