Going by Updates looks like quite a fightback. If Berwick lose, the "rotten to the core band" on BSF thread will erupt!! -

Redcar running up a big score (Heat 8, 29 - 19) at present, quite a surprise! -
On the day I was convinced it was Aspergen, but when I saw the footage today I wasn't so sure. Like you, I'm still undecided. On thing is for sure, before the track changes James would never had been able to come out bend 4 at the angle he did. Much better track shape!

Which paper nagy1? -
Reducing the price of speedway will in the main only reduce the rate the current fan base leaving the sport due to cost/value for money. It will attract few new customers, but might help those who do attend, return.

Really looking forward to what could be a cracking meeting. Will Joey and Joe J show improvement on last weekend? How will Harley fair in his first home meeting? Will Grievesy continue his early season form and entertain us? Is James Wright up for the fight? Has Screeny recovered from his injury? Has Claus got his spokes sorted? Joe Tabaka looks like he could be an ace in the pack, 7 rides on the cards. Will Nookie monster continue his great start to the season? Will any Monarchs fans turn up? Let's hope the weather's kind, there's a bumper crowd and some great racing! -

I was cynical about the move when I read about it at first, however I have to admit it improved the viewing and racing experience greatly.
-
I understand that, but rider safety has to be priority and at Armadale they had crossed the line half a lap prior to lights coming on.

Similar to Friday night the local promotion have to be commended for the positive changes made to satisfy the needs of the paying public. Many positive changes on display today from stadium appearance to catering. An enjoyable experience today and good to see so many Bandits making the trip and supporting their team so vociferously - in a well spirited way. Let's hope other visitors do the same and make the experience, for the new comers the promotions are trying to bring in, an enjoyable one. You wouldn't have grudged Berwick a win today based on their fans great support, nor the team's effort! The main visual difference today was the track shape. It looked so much better with a wider 4th bend exit and 1st bend entry. Also the dip going into bend 3 has all but gone and there was clearly less rider trepidation going in. To the team. James Grieves has been our MVP of the weekend. Showing all the enthusiasm and energy of someone half his age. He's also provided the most exciting racing from a Glasgow rider in the two matches I've been to, today and Friday. Screeny looked below par, but full credit for him riding last night and today - top Bloke! Looked like his injury was having an effect on his riding. Hope he makes a speedy recovery and the same goes to Ricky Ashworth who looked to take a bad one. Joey RIngwood definitely has something! The type of 100% trier that'll bring me back next week. His 2 points don't reflect his effort nor luck - in heat 8 he had no where to go before hitting the boards. Like Joey, Joe Jacobs is confident and his first bends typify this - he's quite happy to mix it, as is Joey. He has a great riding style too. Good days ahead for both. Henning - I'll put today down to early season form. James Wright looked handy and the promotion have emphasised we need to be patient. Based on today he'd do well in home matches, let's hope that whatever's needed for him happens and he runs up a good tally of away scores too. Thanks go to Jason Garrity who after a last in heat 11 came out in 12 and thanks to Wright's first/second bend team riding took the win that changed the match for Glasgow. There was no looking back after that and the Joe/James combination in heat 13 sealed it. I don't comment usually on referees. But Graham Reeves, you need to have a serious word with yourself. Friday night it was consistent rolling at the tapes (mainly Glasgow riders!), and today how did you ever see Grieves beating Aspegren in heat 4. Rider and fans can justifiably feel hard done to. And one other thing. I saw this on Friday and you repeated it today. Fallen rider clealry not able or going to leave the track and red lights come on VERY late!!! I've read some comments on the board about the track. Well, at a time when we're trying to improve attendances do we really need it when it's not accurate nor justified? For goodness sake it's the first meeting of the season. So thanks to the promotion and everyone involved for the hard work done over the winter months, your efforts were there to be see today. Yes it's work in progress and a few things need ironing out, but you've showed your capable of making the big decisions and taking the right action which bodes well.

Joey displayed more confidence than I've seen from most Tigers' first timers at Armadale. Can't wait to see him at Ashfield. -
Anyone know if there's any news on Joe's injury? Hope he's OK!

Great to blow away the cobwebs, even if it was an Arctic wind doing it! Enjoyed tonight, although the edge taken off slightly with Screeny's injury, hope he's OK. Most of the enjoyment coming from an overall sense of "newness" surrounding Armadale and the Tigers septet. Good to see Monarch's promotion making an effort (PA system especially!) and also a Glasgow presence at the turnstiles. I was pleasantly surprised by the Glasgow performance which isn't reflected in the scoreline. That said Edinburgh deserved every point and looked good, especially Craig Cook who looked immense - I'd be surprised if he doesn't finish top of the PL averages this year. By our recent Armadale standards this was a good performance taking into account it was our first meeting of the season with 3 up and comers in the team. I felt each of them grew in confidence as the meeting progressed, Joe J and Joey more than Harley. Judging by their riding styles alone I don't think we'll see the mid season team changes we have recently. Certainly Joey looked like he has a bit of pace, confidence and ability. Only one meeting, but he could be a good 'un! Joe J looks good for a 19 year old - hope he doesn't get fed up with travelling up the M6! I've always said I can forgive a rider his results, as long as he's trying and I have no worries on that front based on tonight. James Wright looked to have bike issues early on, and I'm sure we'll see a different rider on Sunday. Henning was Henning, as was Grievesy. Joe Screen's injury is a concern, everything crossed for him! Wonder if Scott Wilson has worked out what happened yet? His comments had to be a major faux pax - Joe Screen getting medical assistance on the centre green, and Scott talks about Claus being a "lucky boy" as he had no spokes in his back wheel, without mention of Joe! Finally, the new first and second bend looks to have benefited from its modification - no spills! So overall, it's good to have the speedway smell back in the nostrils, to see both promotions being customer focused and to have a new look Glasgow team that I'm confident will prove the Speedway Star soothsayers wrong!

I believe a new handicapping system was proposed at the winter AGM, and only failed by one vote. During a meeting, each race winner was to receive a 10 pound weight for his next race. Cumulating during the meeting. Four race wins and it's 40 pounds extra going into the 5th ride. Apparently the deciding vote came from Glasgow. Something about Joe Screen, and 4 men needed to lift him onto his bike.
