  1. Well I shall be buying the book solely to relive my memories of the Halifax Hackney meeting in 1980..........What a fantastic weekend that was for us Hawks fans having defeated Wolves away on the Friday night and then beating Halifax on the Saturday night. Excellent stuff!!!
  2. Scorpio, Avenger Thanks very much for your replies, I'm still undecided about what to do. I'll probably make a decision tomorrow afternoon. Gary
  3. Hi all I'm after help again, I'm staying at the Premier Lodge in Caerphilly on Saturday night. I've checked on the National Rail website and there's a train back from Cardiff Central to Caerphilly at 23.10. Can somebody with local knowledge let me know whether it would be sensible for me to come from and go back to Caerphilly by train, bearing in mind I'll have the boss and my two sons with me (8 and 5). Or should I just drive to the park and ride like I did last year?? Thanks very much Gary
  4. Anybody remember Red Ott from the mid 70's, if memory serves me right Crayford and Hackney.
  5. Not entirely sure but I think my first meeting was Hackney vs Leicester towards the end of June 1975..............2 things stick in my mind the first was Len Silver's programme notes about Begnt Jansson having gone awol and secondly was the report in the following weeks Newham Recorder that Tony Lomas had a 'mare as his new leathers were too tight........... If anybody can remember that and confirm mind isn't complete mush I'd be very pleased
  6. Good evening from a newbie to the forum, I 've been delving through the YGB forum and reminiscing about the riders I used to watch but I certainly remember this match and what a fantastic comeback it was. If I remember rightly we rode, and won, at Wolverhampton the evening before. The good old days
