Only problem with the ryanair flights is that they have a blackout period from 30th April to 3rd May where the tickets are not so cheap due to major sporting events! So that rules the GP out! Does anybody know whether that means you cant fly to Stockholm between those dates or whether you can fly but just pay for a more expensive flight?? -

I am also looking into going to either of the Swedish GP's. Could anybody please advise me on the best airlines for cheapest flights and for which GP is best to go to -either Stockholm or Gothenburg? I know its late for Stockholm but just wondered roughly how much the flights are? Thanks again everyone -
Hotels in Cophenhagen

Hi Joanne, Thanks for your advice! I noticed that most of the hotels I looked at were near red light districts which is a bit worrying! I may be naive but didnt realise Copenhagen was as bad as Amsterdam !!! It sounds good though, I aim to have this booked in the next day or so! I can't wait! It will be the first time I'm going abroad to a GP. I've been to Cardiff and the WTC held in Britain but never to Europe for speedway! Shame you can't make it Joanne, are you going to any others this year? -

I would have found this a lot quicker if I hadn't spent 20 minutes scanning a map of bloody Stockholm !!!! For someone with light brown hair I do have some really blonde moments!! Anyway, found where you are on the map (in Copenhagen), you are just around the corner from The Tivoli, however to get to Parken from your hotel you will need to catch the number 1 or 6 bus from just along the road, this will take you straight to Trianglen where you walk round the corner to the stadium. Hope this helps again! I could take this up as a living!!! Thanks loads Tabby 3, I know what you mean about having blonde moments, thats like me every day, he he I like the sound of this hotel, a bus ride away should do me nicely - me thinks! Thanks for checking on the map for me, yes you should defo take this up as a job - you go girl -

Thanks Tabby3. I have just been searching for hotels now and it says the Comfort Hotel has no rooms available for the GP date so I have found one called Ibis Copenhagen Triton Hotel which appears to be one of the cheapest. It says its located on Helgolandsgade 7-11 and is 5.0 km/3.1 mi.w away from Parken? Does anybody roughly know how near it is then??! I wasn't sure really how close it meant it was -anyone know? I dont' want to book unless I'm sure its nearby. Thanks -
Just wondered if anyone has any advice on best accommodation in Copenhagen for GP weekend?? As cheap as poss and near to stadium would be best, any suggestions would be appreciated! Many Thanks

Thanks for your help jeffster Hopefully I'll have something booked in the next week! Cheers

Not sure if I'm the only one but I can't find any cheap flights for Prague. Everything seems tobe around the £130 return mark. I have looked on Easyjet and BMIbaby - where are all the £80 returns gone? Please can somebody help as I need to get booked up pronto!

World Champion 2004, Who?
gooner_girl4eva replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sully for sure -
Bring on the hot weather again this year for Cardiff, it was great! Nothing better than laying in the sun with a drink or too and great company

I'm not a Crumpy fan but I am impressed he made the effort to appear for his Aussie fans especially after the distastrous end of the season he had and all the trouble with the death threats. Maybe hes not sooo bad after all...
-
Good for the Aussie public to have some of their top riders in the world racing, sounds like a great meeting. How many meetings does Toddy have left until he officially retires?

gooner_girl4eva replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes I noticed the tickets are also being sold on ticketmaster. Tickets I bought cost £60. I actually received mine the other day in the post which I was very surprised about -early for once! Anyone else received theirs? -
how many seat at Cardiff
gooner_girl4eva replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm going to be sitting middle tier and I've managed to get a row one seat- YAY!!! Can't wait till June -
Well my inital thoughts as I first read this thread were of course I want the WTC to be staged in England so that I can definitely watch all the meetings, but then again there aren't that many tracks here than cater for such a large meeting, although I think Poole, Coventry and Peterborough are capable of providing a great meeting. If the WTC is run abroad, I think it would be good to be staged in Poland as the fans are so enthusiastic over there, or maybe Sweden as they are the new winners of the cup so maybe that would be fair? But I still think personally I'd like it staged here so that I can guarantee to go!

Well done Zagar I think hes a fantastic rider, saw him when he came over to England for the 1st time, was very impressed then ;-) think he has a very promising future and it won't be long till he's showing his stuff in the GP's! And what a first season he's had with Trelawny !

Nicki P - World Champion 2003
gooner_girl4eva replied to Shortcrust's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hey TTF, I believed you about Nicki too you weren't the only one cheering for him. I just didnt happen to post as many messages about him as you did! ;-) Completely agree Em, I don't know how people can see Nicki is so horrible, just watching him in Norway when he was all happy and joking - even after his awful crash, he was in good spirits. I think hes a great guy, very approachable and a good laugh and now the BEST rider in the world too -
2003 GP a fix
gooner_girl4eva replied to SexKitten's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly Robbo There is no way it can be a fix because whether or not Nicki had been excluded in the final - it didnt make any difference to who would win the Championship. I am not saying Nicki didnt do anything wrong and yes he was lucky to get away with it in the final but that was just the referee's decision - there was no conspiracy planned or anything  There has been many ocassions that Nicki has been unfairly excluded when he has not been in the wrong but due to his "reputation" -some referees have wrongly excluded him. All refs are different and all riders have done things wrong and got away with them and all riders have got blamed for things they didnt do. As they say all is fair in love and war ;-) -
Congratulations to Greg
gooner_girl4eva replied to The_Stranger's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Big well done to Greg Knew his time would come this year. Really great guy and he really deserved his victory. Think its a bit overshadowed now by Nicki being World Champ but he has proved he is still one of the best in SGP. And I'm also very happy as I had a bet on Greg, so good on ya boy!! ;-) -
Nicki P - World Champion 2003
gooner_girl4eva replied to Shortcrust's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
YAY NICKI!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really happy for Nicki, what a fantastic World Champion. Such an exciting rider who has that never give up attitude, I am delighted to see him win the Championship! I just think people who slate him should look at him tonight, after his bad accident he was in the pits smiling and laughing and he is such a good guy. People can say what they like about his riding, he is a genuine rider and a genuine guy and I know he would have been gracious in defeat. But luckily we never had to see him deal with defeat - he is now the best in the world! GO NICKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
SGP 2004 Calendar Announced
gooner_girl4eva replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Have to say I was surprised to read of the possibilty of 2 German GP's on the calender next year, I thought Poland would definitely have 2. I am aiming (wishing more like!) to go to Cardiff, Copenhagen, Prague, and Bydgoszcz next year -especially as I won't be going to Norway :-( -
Anyone ever thought.............
gooner_girl4eva replied to shazzybird's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes I know what you mean Shazzybird, I bet there are more riders who read this forum and other websites than we would imagine. I am sure they want to hear what people have to say about them or particular incidents. On Yahoo groups there are lots of riders and management on there under hidden names, I don't think they should be anonymous though, it would be more fun then -
Jason or Nicki?
gooner_girl4eva replied to London Witch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Actually that is a good point diamonds are forever, I would disagree that Jerzy Szczakiel was the best rider...that was just a fix. StarLady: In my post I said of all the riders currently racing I believe TRick is the best. I agree that Ivan Mauger is probably the best rider whose ever riden but of the current lot it has to be TRick. And believe me just because I feel he is the best rider out there over the last few years especially, does not mean that I think he's a great team man! I travel to meetings all over and I certainly wouldn't want him in a team I was supporting (not as a team man anyway!) He is an incredible rider but as an allrounder he does have a few faults...like many other GP riders! ;-)
