  1. Whilst in Manchester for the Speedway of Nations and talking to a number of supporters from fellow Clubs, a lot of the Supporters seem to share the consensus that the sport in its present guise - with tracks diminishing, an elderly fanbase, etc will face a struggle to survive. One thing also struck me was the range of ideas Supporters had and the vast amount of knowledge and business acumen the Sport is missing out on. Travelling home I wondered if anybody has thought have forming a National Speedway Supporters Trust - where members could join and pledge money each month - that would be used to sustain the sport. The money a member would have to pay could start at £2 a month or upwards. The body of the Trust Board would be democratically elected by the Trust members each season. Monies raised by the Trust would be used to provide the long-term future of the Sport and not to prop up the sports bad management. Any thoughts?
  2. If this was to be the case (hope not) what about refunds?
  3. Out of curiosity the weather forecast for next week in Manchester does not look very favourable. Does anyone know the contigency should at least one meeting being cancelled?
  4. Apologies, this should have gone in the Championship forum.
  5. Can anyone identify the Oxford rider for me. I have looked online but some of the sponsors on the forks do not tally. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. I apologise if this is a little unusual but can anyone help me out with a little information. We are planning a visit to NSS during the summer. We usually stay in Manchester but this time we are thinking of staying in Stockport. Can anyone tell us the best way from Stockport to Belle Vue via public transport. Many thanks.
  7. Hi, does anyone know if there is a coach running to the Championship pairs at Oxford the evening before the SGP? Thanks.
  8. At Cardiff this year, is the SGP2 also taking place on the Sunday? I am sure I read previously it was but now I see no mention.
  9. I don’t see what the big problem is with putting the text on sale. They can just give you a confirmation of order and send the tickets nearer the date.
  10. Can anyone tell me if there are any plans to run a coach from Cardiff to Oxford on the Friday night for this seasons Premiership Pairs? If there is do you have any idea how much or DM me with a contact. Thanks in advance.
  11. Apologies if this has been posted but here is a link to Torquay fans forum - some of whom have been doing a little research - https://www.torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=8858
  12. Interestingly enough Torquay United are planning a protest on March 23rd against Uncle Clarke and the way he is running the club. They are appealing for supporters of other teams to also attend. I though I would post as Speedway supporters - in particular Swindon fans have heard this rhetoric before - https://www.torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?p=279169&sid=20a07a7fbe98e9570c60e7994d2caa24#p279169
  13. Thank you Oliver Holt on the excellent article in the Daily Mail. Now as a thought, would't it be nice if he followed this up with an article about the going ons at Swindon? Perhaps the new proposed development at Torquay United and out-of-twon stadium by the same owners?
  14. In this week Speedway Star is a survey for readers to send in their thoughts about the magazine. No doubt this forum will have many lapsed readers who for one reason or another stopped buying on a weekly basis. You can fill out the survey online - link on the main page of the Speedway Star website - and return or even use this link if you don’t want to ruin this magazine by tearing the completed page out. ** My only gripe with the magazine are the regurgitated backtrack interviews that no doubt many Speedway Star readers would also being subscribers to BackTrack have already read many or if not all of these interviews!
  15. Once again it is a Thursday and no Speedway Star delivered. Over the last six weeks I have it delivered just once on Thursday, three times on a Friday, once on a Saturday and once on a Monday. I was prepared to give the Royal Mail the benefit of the doubt with it being Christmas but this is getting beyond a joke.
  16. On todays Devon Live: https://www.devonlive.com/news/news-opinion/torquay-united-give-guarantee-over-8998975?fbclid=IwAR1_JyZOnu-rWd1o-Z1CFaxMOIsjVxzSTzgavcWYdSq2toqRKtLqgqdm3_M Sounds familiar doesn’t it!
  17. From todays Devon Live: Clarke talks about the new stadium!
  18. With the SON being back in Manchester for 2024 can anyone tell me if Team GB get seeded direct to the final? Thanks in advance.
  19. Oh dear, this story has a familiar ring to it. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67380185.amp For anyone who doesn't know Plainmoor (Torquay's ground) is in a prime re-development spot - a new out of Town stadium has already been mentioned! From the outside it looks as though the Club is being run down as they were in the Football League a few years ago but now find themselves facing life in the seventh tier of English football.
  20. With Christmas looming large on the horizon are there any new Speedway books being published? If not Christmas any in the new year?
