  1. Technically not as the meeting was postponed was it not? Had they gone through the charade of putting the 2 mins on for Heat 13,14,15 and 16 each of the riders would have ruled themselves out.
  2. Basically Nicki says he doesn't want Greg stripped of the title, but rules are rules and should be followed.
  3. The only folk who are on the brew are those who cannot read. Nicki Pedersen clearly can. We get hundreds of pages of folks whinging when rules aren't broken... then when you get a rule, as in this case, not enforced, people just wish to invent their own scenarios. Greg Hancock should not be World Champion, as per the rules of the sport. If the sport isn't going to follow it's own rules, what is the point? Indeed he has..
  4. What it says. It's quite simple. What Championship has Hancock won? Then remind yourself what Championship Hancock is ineligible for.
  5. Once again, you're inventing things that aren't there. There is no mention of meetings. Simply, he is ineligible for the championship. It is crystal clear. It doesn't matter if someone walked out of the first, fourth, eighth or last meeting. The moment they do so they render themselves ineligible for the championship.
  6. I haven't said anything about whether I think it's a good or bad thing.. I agree it's somewhat crazy. All I have said is that, as you confirm, it IS the rule.
  7. Another deciding to invent things. There is no 'stretching'. There is no need for you to invent anything either, the rule has been quoted and is quite clear.
  8. Yep congratulations to a cheat who has no regard for the paying public and MOST importantly by the rules of the sport should not now be World Champion. The actual incident itself is fairly irrelevant now. Hancock walked out of the meeting, no investigation is required to discover that and as such he ruled himself ineligible for the World Championship.
  9. I really can't see why anybody is trying to interpret anything. It's crystal clear what it says. Any GP rider who withdraws from a meeting is ruled ineligible for rest of the Championship. It doesn't matter if its the first GP or the last GP. The punishment is the same, you are ineligible. Hancock, by the rules, cannot be champion of something he is ineligible for. Of course we all know the rule won't be applied, but that doesn't change what the rule actually is.
  10. I don't need to try again, you've invented something that isn't there. The rule is 100% clear, very unusual for speedway.
  11. Of course there was. He pulled out after one race of the final GP. He then became ineligible. The winner is then the highest ELIGIBLE points scoring rider. There isn't even any grey areas on this one. It is explicitly stated. Said rider is ineligible for the World Championship, whether it after 1 race in the 1st GP or 3 races in the final GP. That's it, done and dusted. You cannot win something you are not eligible for.
  12. No straws being grasped at. It's black and white. Hancock is ineligible for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship. Not a GP, not an individual event. For the Championship itself.
  13. As another poster discovered.. Regulation 077.3.3 of FIM Grand Prix World Championship states - "A rider who has entered the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship and refuses or is unable to take part, is deemed to be suspended competing internationally for a period of 1 day before and up to 3 days after the Grand Prix meetings concerned. Furthermore, he shall be considered as ineligible for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship for the remainder of the season. A rider who has started in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship must participate therein unless prevented from doing so by injury or other force majeure. A suitably qualified medical practitioner must certify injury or illness in writing to that effect." It is crystal clear. Once Hancock withdrew from the GP he was rendered INELIGIBLE for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship. It does not state any single event. Simply he is ineligible for that event. As such he cannot win it. Holder should get a bronze after all!
  14. It doesn't say anything about riding. It clearly states, if you withdraw from a meeting you are ineligible for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship. definition of 'ineligible'. "legally or officially unable to be considered for a position or benefit." As per the rules Hancock should not be World Champion.. something which is clearly a 'benefit'. As the previous poster says, Hancock withdrawing rendered him ineligible for the Championship, his previous points should be irrelevant. Quote
  15. Hancock taking the p*** there coming into Holder's interview with his big cheesy grin and hugging him. As for Pearson and his constant "Based on opinion" crap....
  16. Again, this would land you in trouble in any professional sport.
  17. Hancock.. taking his ball home. Disgrace. No respect for the paying public.
  18. Hancock is lucky this is speedway. In other sports you would face a long ban.
  19. Hancock throwing races... in other sports you'd be banned.
  20. Let's be honest and fair. Tai's average was 7.03, achieved over a FULL Season in pretty much the same format. Absolutely 100% the correct average to come in on. If anyone has an issue with it, they've pretty much got an issue with every season of league speedway since pts limits were introduced.
