  1. Sky commentators were pathetic. If that had been a british rider pushing Jonsson wide, no way would they have agreed with the decision.
  2. Disgraceful exclusion. Povazhny was in front, did NOT go to the fence. Jonsson had plenty of room.
  3. Then you have probably missed some of the best speedway in the history of the sport as the race-off, more often than not has produced the best racing.
  4. So he had 4 good rides, 1 unlucky exclusion, and 1 where he was excluded for trying to pass someone. And you think its reason to have a pop.
  5. Not a fan of Tai then? Very poor report when all you can focus on is 2 bad races.. incidentally, 2 out of 6 isn't half, Tai won his 3rd ride.. was that appalling too? Some folk on here just want to have a pop for anything. Good on him I say for showing some passion and some balls to have a go. So what if he got excluded in his 2nd ride, at least he was having a go to make the pass.
  6. Perhaps.. also makes it easier for the other 2 teams. Might work to our advantage, when Tai or another of our riders has one of their inevitable falls, perhaps a Russian will win the race to limit the damage. Russians will be stronger, but not strong enough to go through.

  8. Nah, let the Russians in, get them in amongst the Aussies too. More chance of them bottling it then!
  9. Dryml was, as per norm, riding dangerously all race. The guy cannot ride a bike in a safe fashion. He is an accident waiting to happen every time he gets on the bike. And your comments were made redundant by Hampel, who showed how to overtake in a safe fashion without having to ride someone right to the fence.
  10. Correct SCB, I was saying that myself. Dryml was, as usual, widely out of control.
  11. Some very good points 21CH. I have said for some time, even before this venture, that the Heathens should share with Wolves AND ride in the EL. As others have confirmed, there are a number (and a large one at that I believe) of fans who are staying away due to not wishing to see NL action. A move to the EL could see massive crowds when the Heathens race Wolves, Birmingham and Coventry. A Wolves/Cradley (I too hate the Dudley name) would absolutely pack the stadium and would be a plus for both teams. I also think now would be the time to do it and go all out to get Mr Hancock to return to the UK to lead the team. As you say, where there's a will, there is a way.. unfortunately I also believe that the 'easy money' option of the NL will prevent it from ever happening. How long will this continue for though? Will crowds slowly start to fall at that level, its happened with many other teams in the past...
  12. 2 down.. 14 to go... or could it be 15 to go if he includes Woffinden. Not counting Barker as he did not ride in the GP.
  13. Clearly you had too much to drink on the day and haven't recovered yet. Glancing through the races, passed I can remember.. Heat 2, pretty sure Gollob passed Hancock. Certainly remember them being close for a couple of laps. Heat 3, Kolodzej passed Hampel, who battled all the way to the line Heat 4, more passing as Jonsson, Lindgren and Holder fought, Lindgren eventually getting the better of Holder. Heat 7, good scrap between Lindgren and Gollob Heat 10, cracking race with Harris and Lindgren Heat 12 Emil passes Crump in a (to coin a Pearson phrase) sensational race Heat 13 Another cracker with Holder, Nicholls and Gollob involved Heat 17, Wheel to wheel battle with Lindgren and Sayfutidnov, culminating in Lindgrens exclusion Heat 18 Brilliant ride from Jonsson to beat Gollob Heat 20 Holder passes Woffinden. These are just a few, there were other good races too that I can't remember of the top of my head. There's already very good races there. Not including the exciting final, or the semis. Pretty good ratio compared to most meetings!
  14. Where were you looking? Think it depends what side of the stadium you were sat on and where. The top tier along the back straight looked pretty full, along the home straight, much much less so.
  15. Not to mention you would struggle to get 1/4 of the Cardiff crowd in to the stadium.. and it rains?
  16. Too much emphasis is being put on the gates with regards to the overall racing in my opinion. Sure, from a point of 'fairness' to the riders, in an ideal world the starting gates would be equal, or as close to as possible (in almost every speedway meeting certain gates are better than others). In terms of exciting racing, equal starting gates could well have the opposite effect, allowing the better riders on the night to hit the front regardless of their gate. As it was, some riders had to work extra hard from the less favoured starts.
  17. So you base it on whether Gollob or Crump can pass? Failing to remember that BOTH of those were indeed overtaken by others, so by definition they simply weren't quick enough. As for most of the passes up the inside.. hmmm I remember quite a few around the outside. Those up the inside generally because the rider in front was on the outside line! There were some absolutely fantastic races, just off the top of my head you had Sayfutdinov/Crump, Sayfutdinov/Nicholls, Gollob/Jonsson. There was a heat where Bjerre went from 1st to last and back to 1st again, with riders swapping positions behind him. Lindgren V Harris in the 2 man race was a superb battle. Lindgren/Holder was a great battle till the exclusion too. There were a number of other good races that off the top of my head I can't remember. I would say the first 5 or 6 races were fairly processional, as tends to be the norm till the track settles down. After that, 1st class entertainment.
  18. Absolutely spot on, I just don't understand how anyone can complain at the event. Growing up, I had missed the Wembley days and dreamed of being able to watch speedway in a good stadium in front of a massive passionate crowd. I thoroughly enjoyed it on tv and I will certainly be there again (if its still there) next year.
  19. Sure, its a good race track, but the stadium is nowhere near big enough. If the British GP goes there, its a major step backwards for the sport.
