And yet again you post the same utter nonsense. Opinions aren't being questioned. REASONING is and more significantly facts are being provided to show the reasoning is incorrect. Now, when shown that your reasoning is false/flawed, a normal sane person would be inclined to reconsider said opinion. I am not trying to bring you around to any way of thinking. I have simply, as have others, stated what is the truth. If you wish to continue to be ignorant and pig headed, go ahead. You've in an increasingly desperate attempt to justify your position have now moved onto claiming the following riders are better than Tai.... Brian Brett, Peter Craven, Nigel Boocock, Eric Boocock, Ray Wilson, Terry Betts, Kenny Carter, Simon Wigg, Malcolm Simmons, John Louis, Dave Jessup, Les Collins, Kelvin Tatum The reason you claim is because they didn't have access to the backup that Tai has mechanically. It has been pointed out to you that this is utterly irrelevant. They would have had access to the same resources as other riders of their era, just as Tai has the same access to other riders of his era. It has also been pointed out that MORE riders have access to the very best equipment now than in the past which basically renders your 'claim' redundant. In an attempt to give you a chance to validate your opinion I have asked you, What does Tai have access too that other riders he is against do not? You have chosen to ignore that question.. it speaks volumes.

You've already stated numerous times you don't even watch on TV. I don't need to even watch on Youtube to dismiss much of the nonsense you come out with... the multiple 10pt riders being the perfect case. I'm still waiting to here about all the times genuine World Title contenders were eliminated in the British Final stage? Come on, you keep talking about it.. let's hear the list.
-
Good to see you don't deny it. Here you are again, yet another day spent on a forum discussing something you don't watch and have no interest in watching lol. As for not seeing riders, I've seen plenty of them, quite easy these days.
-
Correct and I have given mine. Sommelier will feel Gollob is the most talented rider he has seen on a bike and he has a good argument.. however, that's just one part of the package. Consistency, ability to perform under pressure, ability to adapt to different conditions/tracks/surfaces all come into play when discussing the 'best ever' and Gollob falls down in those areas compared to others. When someone trots out the opinion line it basically means they haven't got any semblance of an argument in the first place. You see, in the adult world, intelligent people who have 'opinions' can back them up with solid sound reasoning. In cases where their reasoning is shown to be flawed, or quite simply wrong, they learn and change their opinion. Then there are idiots.. who simply repeat ad nauseam that it's their opinion regardless of having nothing at all to back it up and most importantly when their reasoning is shown to be wrong.
-
You do, and you are wrong and have been shown to be wrong. Besides, you don't watch so you wouldn't have the slightest knowledge of 'how strong' the competition is.
-
Yes, the someone being you. NOBODY has questioned your right to an 'opinion' that there are many British riders better than Woffinden. What has been questioned is the nonsense you have come out with to try and justify it. A 5 year old could form a more cohesive argument. Seriously, when you still cannot grasp why there were so many 10pt riders in the 70'....it has been explained to you multiple times yet you still keep coming out with it. It's also notable how questions are conveniently avoided.. it was spouted earlier about how hard the British Final was to get through.. I've asked how many times did the BIG names such as Collins, Lee, Jessup as three examples fail to get through.. I know about the infamous PC sugar in the tank incident so that's an exception. Aside from that, please let me know, must be plenty as you make such a big song and dance about it?
-
Sam Ermolenko also says the same thing. When have I ever criticised Tatum and his knowledge of mechanical issues?
-
We know, you keep saying, without realising that's only strengthening Tai's case.
-
Gollob simply cannot come into the equation, nowhere close to being best ever. If he truly was 'the best ever' or 'the most talented' then he was a complete bottle job.. which rules him out of any best ever conversation.
-
I got there after a few seconds mulling over what my re-reading my last sentence a couple of times I agree people have been saying it for years in relation to British speedway but I do think it is rapidly approaching a critical point. It's very very sad. From a Wolves point of view, in another time we'd be sitting there with the World No 1 and 3 in our ranks. Now.. well.. there are some who think it makes no difference to the crowds, the ever increasing gaps at Monmore say otherwise.
-
This is the point, nobody is criticising it. The point is though, if the league was split up more back in those days, lets say with an 8 team top league and the other teams in lower leagues it wouldn't be remembered as being anywhere near as strong.
-
Woah Woah Woah, steady on here! All modern riders are dull compared to Sudden Sam.. and as for Hancock being compared to Rocket Ronnie, Greg isn't fit to clean his boots
-
But you keep coming onto a forum to post about him. I guess you don't realise how stupid that makes you look!
-
Here we go again. I have not stated any opinion. It is not a matter to have an opinion on. A range of averages is determined by the size of league and the heat format used. No opinion is involved. If you really don't understand that after it's been explained multiple times then the mind boggles....
-
Yet riders such as Tatum say how much harder the modern machine is to ride. So again, your argument fails you and strengthens that which you are arguing against.
-
What you mean to say is 'in the real world' people are told what to like and what not to like. Folk are told Formula One is 'cool'.. Speedway is 'not'. Matters not with many what they actually genuinely prefer, they'll just follow the crowd.
-
Oh dear god. Once again you put forward an argument that actually only serves to counter what you are saying but is of course completely irrelevant. What has Tai got 'at his disposal' that other riders do not? Absolutely nothing. It isn't common cry anymore for riders to maintain their bikes themselves, meaning it's a darn sight harder to get an advantage in that area as there are far more professional organised riders around.. compared to the past when the elite such as Mauger had a distinct advantage in their preparation. Well done on highlighting how much easier it was back in the day As for your list of riders, you should try stand up comedy. We're now expected to believe Les Collins, Kelvin Tatum and others are better than Woffinden? There is one rider who makes the conversation, thats Peter Craven. The rest don't come into it.
-
Here we go again. We're back to all the 10pt superstars of the day argument which is THE MOST IRRELEVANT argument there can possibly be as it is COMPLETELY based upon the size of the league and the heat format used. Based on your argument the 1995 and 1996 merged league was by far the strongest in the last 30 years. Packed full of 9-10pt men. How hard really was the British Final to get through for actual genuine contenders? How many times did Peter Collins, Mike Lee, Dave Jessup for example fail to get through out of interest?
-
They haven't got a single argument Steve. Every single one they have tried to put forward is actually in favor of Woffinden's achievements. Every single one.
-
No need, it's been done already a long time ago when Wolfcry were the first to start providing such updates.
-
And he's not riding average journeymen for the most part in World Team Finals etc either.
-
Name them.
-
Why would I, I assume you listened to both. Then again.
-
Right to reply? Given you have readily stated you don't watch the sport it gives you zero right to reply.
-
Indeed he did.
