  1. So no rider has ever had any luck in winning a World Final? Brilliant lol
  2. Are you still here? You've announced you're done on at least three occasions on this thread, only to come back with more nonsense. Looking forward to your next claim, claiming there were no riders lucky to win a World Title takes some topping.
  3. What a shame, a superb fightback from Kings Lynn scuppered by one man, the referee.
  4. Read it again Steve, think about the drivel some posters have been making and note the smiley
  5. Many times, but I rarely argue about something I am wrong on... that would be foolish in the extreme. When I am wrong, I say so, LEARN from it and move on.
  6. I can't believe you're saying he is better than Rickardsson, oh my god, you fool!
  7. He's better than Mauger was at age 28. Once again, stop making things up and read what is posted.
  8. Nothing to do with being arrogant, it's to do with being right. When I'm wrong, I learn. I have zero tolerance for people who continue to spout nonsense when they are utterly wrong. It's ignorant. I have zero tolerance for people who make things up to try and twist a debate in their favour. And they always follow the same trait, when they can come up with absolutely nothing to back up their flawed argument they storm off in a huff and throw some insults.
  9. This is getting worse, Harris touched the tapes first then! Absolute biased drivel.
  10. Well.. as Tai is still riding.. and he has 3 World Titles to 1 against Mauger at the same age.. he's ahead of him already
  11. You give up because you've been wrong from the start and every single argument you've put forward has shown that. There's interview after interview available in sources such as Backtrack where riders will tell you, on World Final night you need the rub of the green. There's races resulting in exclusions that could have gone either way that are still debated 30+ years later, one rider was lucky, the other not... but nope.. you decide there was no luck involved. Staggering!
  12. Often with a contentious refereeing decision there are a few who side with the ref.. nobody has yet. Not even Jeremy Corbyn Fan trolling!
  13. Possibly, but there's an argument to say they had the wrong setup in the first 4-5 heats so the gate toss has actually helped them in the 2nd half of the meeting. Had they been on 1-3 and missing starts it would have been big trouble when Poole got them. We'll never know
  14. Completely incorrect. Tai was only able to have that mindset as he had done the work in earlier rounds, ALL of which count. There are many riders who were lucky to win World Titles over the years, not because they weren't the best rider in the world, or close too, but quite simply because in a one off final luck can play a major part. Exclusions for and against, machine failures, other riders falling causing re-runs, meeting riders at the right time of the meeting compared to others and many more factors could play a big part. Of course, that was all part of the 'excitement' and 'tension' on the night and why we ALL remember the World Finals so fondly. You had to be good enough to get yourself in the position, but often then just needed that bit of luck to get you over the line. Edited: To clarify, being 'lucky' to win the World Final doesn't mean you weren't the best rider or that it wasn't deserved.. it's just a reality, you very often needed that slice of luck.
  15. I must admit I didn't expect this fightback and totally under estimated Kings Lynn.
