Play offs on Thursday
garf replied to Lanzilla's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wouldn't be that bad as long KB is in the leading position. -
Pretty sure that Johston took Kenneth wide into the fence in heat 10 then.

Look at the Live Speedway Update : http://livespeedwayupdates.co.uk/index/mod...php?name=Forums They have been doing a terrific job in the 2 first events, as usual. Thanks for that.

Electrician to the pits please!
garf replied to pirate paul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think it was all the steam the Danish riders did let out, that put the light out. CONGRATS to DENMARK. -
No problems WW. For a moment I feared I had lost all my German understanding as I could not see at all what the meaning was. Carry on doing foreign languages. In a while you might even come to the Danish.

Good luck Middlo and the Boys

And the "Live Spedway Update forum here is doing a great job too. _ http://livespeedwayupdates.co.uk/index/mod...32ea1e3750#4324 The Danish TV-station DK4 is showing the SWC on their homepage as well. You just have to be a member, which costs about 12 £ -
I think you are absolutely right about that. But I will hold my best shirt on the fact that the rest will do the same.

The Team Denmark Song
garf replied to ha en bra födelsedag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We have got out own tune though "Things......... can only get better"! Good point! Forgotten that they had already recorded that one for Team GB ages ago!! Well, hopefully things will get better this year! Crazysue, I thought that the Team Denmark song was done by the band that played at the Copenhagen GP...they all looked pretty nice too! It is done by that band, but to say that they look good, hmmmm. I really can't say. I have to say that they all have at least "one little physical disorder" for me to say they are looking good. But you are all right. It is a good song. -
Who will win the World Cup??
garf replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As you put it here, I might have problem. But to straighten one thing out : I'm not in for the dirty riding or the hard riding at all. What I was "moaning about", or the meaning on the bottom line is : I'm sick and tired of the fact that many membeers here on the forum are "painting all the Danish riders with the same brush". Noone can come and say that KB, PUK, Charlie, Jesper and Bjarne are riding the "hard speedway" neither "dirty". I'm not in for the hard riding, and I'm not a pro NP or HA speedway supporter, but many times I do think the the ref is judging a rider just because of his reputation instead of "watching the incident one more time in slow motion". Regarding the Poles, then I might be a little biased as I have the impression that the opponents to the Pole riders better has to stay on the inside. -
Why on earth should Denmark be grateful for this ? We have some riders going or, should we even say, are getting headhunted by the English clubs. In fact I believe they are getting to UK because they do have something to give to the clubs. Of course the young riders will gain of this agreement too, but in many situations I belive it is a matter of mutual gaining, and not only the young rider. In some situations the young rider is travelling to another country to try his fortune and the rider does not have the same success here as in his home country. This rider will then, maybe after a few chances, be returned as garbage. It takes a great deal of confidence to move to another country, talk the language, get settled and at the same time fullfill every ones expectations. Of course this process is contributing to some kind of acceleration, bur it surdenly has some dark sides as well. BTW I can't see how Denmark comes into a thread about the U/21 match between Sweden and England.

Shouldn't this LIVE UPDATE be on the "Live Speedway Update" site ?

Actually I don't think you can use the word "deserve" in this sentence, as all the other riders deserves it just as much. In the end it is the performance on the track, at the right time and the finnish result/standings that counts. Injuries is a part of the game, and sometimes they might get in inconvenient. What do you mean about "heads up . . . . . . . "

Who will win the World Cup??
garf replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well all the "danes" do is knock riders off their bikes! So no wonder their in the top 10. Nicki and Hans worst two people. What a silly allegation. To allegate that the Danish riders are all riding dirty just because a few is riding on the edge, also called "hard riding" which is allowed by the book. Otherwise the ref. has to take action. Speedway is a tough game and a hard race. The spectators expects some kind of drama and entertainment when they go to the matches. They want something for the money. A drama can be defined as many things: The excellent gating of more than one rider going into the first bend and the battle through and out of the second bend. The excellent racing through more than one lap by the riders with lots of overtaking. The extaordinary ride by one rider making all the right lines and getting close to the track-record. The excellent riding by two riders from the same team, (teamriding) to save the 5-1 The "letting steam out" by the rider who was excluded unfairly either as the cause to another riders riding or being the victim. And all the other situations. I don't believe anyone deliberatly will go out in a meeting and, as you say, knock the opponents of the bikes. But during the race, a lot of steam is on the kettles and in many situations it is a matter of who is having the most "guts" and keeps the throttle on. They are all riding to the limit, and sometimes over the limit. I believe there is a big difference between "riding dirty" and "riding hard" What are you actually looking for in the matches ? The parades, the race or what or just the bikes ? I'm going for the race, the competion between 2 equal riders going for the 3 points, and the "show-of" by the riders. Or just the drama on the track, so to say. -
Try Danish then, it is an easy language, when you are brought up with it. In the school we are taught several languages, or having the possibility. English is the first priority, and then we can choose another one too. Your English is quite good, in the written language. Thespoken language I cannot judge. cya

Was meinst du damit ? Ich verstehe kein Wort. Das verstehe ICH nicht einmal... und ich bin Deutscher...! ;-) Dann ist mir ein Stein vom Hertz gefallen. Ich hatte gefürchtet das meiner Deutsch gestorben war.

Aaahhhhh come on ! Don't eat all these "sour grapes", they goes to the brain and from there through the keyboard to my screen. . What about the other riders gating from the same positions ? Did they do well or . . . . . ? You can't say that the Wild Cards wasn't riding superb. I think KB is a quite good bet as the new U/21 World Champ, and if not then in the top 3.

Are you suggesting that the Polish riders will get favourable treatment Garf and that they will be "dirty" when you talk about being on the "safe side"? I don't think it matters where the final is being held. If a rider is good enough to win it they will. I just believes that it takes a very strong referee to have the guts to exclude any Pole in a situation of any doubt. Meetings in Poland are usually watched by very many people, which might put a lot of preassure on the referee. I have seen a few matches with poles in, and funny enough they are seldomly passed on the outside. I believe the riders don't dare to as they might get "fenced" then. Regarding your last remark, I'll say you are right, but only if and when the referees on the track is strong persons being able to put themselves through.
-
I don't think you can rule any Pole out of the competition as long they are allowed the "very tough, almost dirty, riding" which they all seem to be practicing for the moment. Furthermore the final is in Poland, which do put on a lot of preassure on the referee as well. Hopefully there will be a strong ref. with a very strong sense of fairness. Actually I think that to make a good result in the final, KB has to stay out of trouble with the Poles during the final, and then just be as fast as possible, which means that he has to be on the "safe" side of the opponents away from the fence.
-
Great result by KB. He did show his opponents the way of riding in the Semi and the final. Maybe it was the "near-fenced" he had in the heat he was excluded in, that made him so determined. Looking very good for the final later this year.
-
I believe you mean "The Tape"

Probably for the line-up in the final!
