  1. I think you'll find it's often Wolves supporters on here that keep resurrecting it, especially trying to blame Aces riders for the unfortunate accidents. It doesn't matter now why we lost or how fair or otherwise it was, we lost, we weren't in the final and most of us have moved on. My concern is that things are calmed down before we meet in the KO Cup.
  2. So you thought the best course of action was to join in and write another goading post yourself! We need either to ignore these idiots and Wolves fans have also been disgraceful on social media, or make sensible and reasoned posts to calm down the situation. With the likelihood of both teams meeting in the KO Cup the last thing Speedway needs is people trying to further inflame the situation. Suggesting that Belle Vue riders are to blame for the unfortunate injuries to Lindgren and Thorssell isn't going to help. Back on topic. Even though I wanted Swindon to win after finishing top of the league table you have to feel for Wolves but at least their fans can take a lot of pride in the fact that their decimated team fought hard and did remarkably well to lose by a single point.
  3. There are Aces and Wolves fans who are a disgrace to their clubs with their behaviour and comments on social media. Fortunately, they are very few in number. Despite the question marks you are again risking inflaming the situation by suggesting that Aces riders took out your top 2. Just as you did with your post claiming that Belle Vue had a deliberate plan to injure Wolves riders. The situation with Thorssell is seen by many as a 50/50 situation and as Adams said, it was a racing accident. Unfortunately, Lindgren was wholly at fault for his accident. The video evidence shown by BT. Particularly the clip shown when Tatum was discussing it with Natalie Quirks shows that clearly and as Tatum commented, Bjerre had nowhere to go. What is needed are the voices of moderation and common sense on both sides. We know the overwhelming majority of fans of both clubs are well behaved, decent people. It doesn't help when sensible fans from either team try to stoke the fires.
  4. You have to feel sorry for Wolves, especially only losing by one point but Swindon topped the league table and deserved to win. Not many expected them to win at Wolves because of their home advantage but they never gave up and just about did it in the end. The track was well prepared, the racing wasn't brilliant but it was ok and the closeness of the score and tense atmosphere made good viewing. A special mention for Nathan Greaves who showed what he is capable of achieving.
  5. I think the word you were searching for isn't big, most might think that notorious is more appropriate.
  6. Tactical skills can be learned but the motivational skills and respect of the riders that Lemon has are much more difficult to acquire. Many of the junior riders have also gained from his knowledge and advice and that may prove to be of tremendous benefit to Belle Vue in years to come. I doubt you'll find many Aces fans who would want to lose him.
  7. No. The difficulty in attracting top riders willing to race in the UK on a Monday was one of the reasons Belle Vue changed to Friday. Wolverhampton have also said the same. We seem to have a good relationship with Denmark and I am sure we could work around each others fixtures. Whatever days we choose the Poles will disregard if it suits them to do so.
  8. If it's a 42 point limit Wolves will have to lose about 5 and a half points from this year's team. Swindon about 4.74 points and Belle Vue 2 points.
  9. I don't agree that anybody choked. Wolverhampton just did so much better than most expected and deserve all the credit for a remarkable performance. Swindon had one of those nights when they couldn't get their act together and Wolves kept up the pressure to make it harder for them to do so. It's sport, it happens. Suggesting Swindon choked just detracts from Wolves excellent performance.
  10. Interesting tweet from Craig Cook after heat 3, "Going to stick my neck on the line and say Wolves are going to run Swindon close, track looks very inviting for an away rider."
  11. Wolves definitely deserved that. It would be difficult for Swindon if they had a small lead but with Wolves home advantage they need only show the same commitment and determination again in the second leg and they will be the proud winners of consecutive championships.
  12. Who knows but with fixed nights it will be easier for him to manage and fit in nicely with Poland and Sweden.
  13. 3 years. I'm sure we will but Northerners tend to be more down to earth and not inclined to underestimate human frailties. We don't place absolute faith in any person. A few years ago some did in someone called Ferguson, I think he was something to do with sport but very few of those came from the north.
  14. If Harris gets 9 or 10 from 5 rides he has done as well as Lindgren has at Swindon this year.
  15. Poolebolton may have overlooked the first couple of words of the last line but it was all meant. Poole fans do have this optimistic belief and blind faith in their leader. Ideal subjects for one of these religious cults.
  16. It's always good to read Poole threads about who they want or have signed for the following season, they're always so optimistic. Whoever they sign is going to be committed to the club, always wanted to ride for them, Middlo will work his magic and they'll make their current dismal performance a temporary blip on their way to the GP, never put off by a poor season because Matt will use his superior team building powers to ensure they're returned to their rightful place and win the play offs. Often deluded but good on yer for having faith.
  17. In the real world, the official green sheet averages, King isn't in the top 20 in the Premiership but in the top 5 of the Championship.
  18. Max is certainly improving fast but I think next year may be a bit too soon to achieve No.1 status. He has been on fire since returning from injury but needs to be much more consistent away from home. I'd certainly have him back though.
  19. I can't be bothered to read through it all again but if you read all of the comments you will see that comments on Facebook of that type were made by a very small number of "fans" and who were condemned for doing it by other Aces fans. I have also read the Wolves Facebook fans page and there are equally disgusting comments by Wolves fans on there. Every club has its share of idiots and it is this type of incident that tends to bring them out of the woodwork. I like to watch Freddie because he does give 100% and I wouldn't put him in the same category as NP but his upturn in form was accompanied by him being much more aggressive and on occasion a danger to others. People have commented on it previously on the BSF and didn't Woffinden say much the same? Having said that there was nothing deliberate about his accident at the NSS, it was a racing accident or what Wolves fans tend to call over riding.
  20. It's devalued because the rules don't allow it. It would be yet another example to support those who say that it is a mickey mouse sport. Whether it is a sensible change to make for the future is a matter for debate. As for tonight's meeting I don't think Wolves have been weakened as much as some say. Lindgren, by his standards, does not do well at Swindon. This year he effectively scored 8 from 5 and 10 from 5 rides and Harris is capable of a similar score. R/r for Thorssell is unlikely to replicate his score, 9 and 12, both from 5 rides. So weaker but not necessarily the walk over some are predicting. It is an entirely different situation at Monmore where Lindgren and Thorssell can be brilliant and often are. Even with their home advantage I can see Swindon keeping it very close there or even winning.
  21. I feel very sorry for Wolves losing their two best riders to injury, particularly at home where those two would drop very few points. As an Aces fan I know how you must feel, having lost Bjerre to injury in the play offs in 2005 and not being able to replace him. I know you are asking particularly for the views of Swindon fans but this would affect all of us. I believe that you can't now change the rules that everybody has/was supposed to, abide by this season. A lack of credibility is one of the major problems with the sport and to allow such a change for the final would be farcical. Imagine, if Wolves then won the final, the competition would be totally devalued. If rules need to be changed then make those changes before the start of the season.
  22. So in your little world referees are 100% correct no matter the video evidence, no matter the opinions of others. We are fortunate indeed to have recruited such a group of infallible people to officiate in British speedway or perhaps these super human qualities are shared by speedway referees everywhere. Meanwhile, in the real world most of us know that, just like us, from time to time they get things wrong.
  23. The facts are that there were a very small number of Belle Vue fans in the South Stand and even fewer in the Grandstand, who thought it appropriate to boo the Wolves riders. It may be childish, it is not something I would do or like to hear but fairly harmless. Nobody that I heard cheered after the crash in heat 13, it was a heart in the mouth moment because it was obvious that someone could be hurt and why would fans cheer when it could so easily have been Bjerre or Cook who were injured. The referees decision was met with astonishment and jeers, Bjerre was cheered when he walked back to the pits and gestured to the referee and Lindgren was booed by a very small number of fans as he walked back but the vast majority of fans clapped. My impression was that the few boos were most likely because they thought he was responsible for the crash. I don't see anything particularly terrible or reprehensible about any of that behaviour. I don't like the booing but it happens virtually everywhere. What is unacceptable is the throwing of the plastic bottles. A look at the Belle Vue fans Facebook page shows how many Aces fans have made clear that they consider it totally unacceptable behaviour and want the culprit(s) identified and banned.
