Remember first race is 7.45 not 7.30....although if loads turn up it could start later. Made me laugh in the league playoffs when people were turning up at their normal time (just before the parade or tapes up) and were expecting to walk straight in and to their usual spots and being disgruntled that they had to queue and their spot had gone.

I like a few too but unfortunately, they too are off the menu!

I'm absolutely gutted, I won't be able to make it tonight due to a blooming horrible cold someone gave me which has had me laid up in bed since Monday and has now developed into a raging chest infection. I was hoping against hope I would recover enough to go but it's just not to be. So bloody ****** off.

From my spot on the home straight, the back straight stand looked more than 3 quarters full, there were very few seats free at one point. Very very busy on the home straight, almost to claustrophobic levels for me as I am unable to stand for meetings and all I could see around me (apart from in front of me) was lots and lots of legs and bums!

We explained the rules (well the ones that people can understand) on the way up in the car and then told them which helmet colours to look out for and the names of the riders to shout for before each heat, so got around that issue. The PA was one of the reasons I moved back to the home straight and right in front of the speaker, didn't miss a thing said (apart from when the mic was playing silly beggers in the beginning), did miss Kevin though.

That was our issue with knowing what had happened with Nicholls and Greaves, our only pointer that something HAD gone on was the amount of noise from the fans who could see clearly.

They announced there would be a slight delay at around 7.30 due to the amount of people still waiting to come in....but then started right on time! I disagree with the second point, the fence was put back up very quickly and I would have felt shortchanged if the meeting had been abandoned at that point, I've paid for 15 heats so I want to see 15 heats! It's why I can never understand the ones who leave before heat 15 is run, you may be losing (or the meeting already lost) but you could also miss an absolute belter of a heat by leaving early. Also just to go back to a point earlier in the thread, admission price was the same as any other meeting tonight.

Not all Ipswich fans.....I was getting a tiny bit annoyed at those doing it. Good meeting, brilliant atmosphere (apart from the aforementioned booing), huge crowd and lastly, well done Sheffield...you so deserved to lift the title.

I should be there on Saturday (health willing) and bringing an extra 6 people with me as eldest is celebrating his birthday and him and his friends decided that the perfect start to their night out would be a visit to speedway...only one of them has been to speedway before, eldest!
