Robert72 Is Not Rob Homer
no-brakes-uk replied to no-brakes-uk's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
So if someone came on here pretending to be a rider with the name Lee77 for example, and lots of people were guessing it was your lad and then to score points against the troll they started slagging your lad off and saying he was crap, you think that's ok do you? Thought not. And if I was to come on here and defend him, would you be saying "it's nothing to worry about?" Thought not. -

You're missing the point. Nobody cares who Robert72 is. it isn't about him. It's about Rob. You've also missed the point of the thread. -

Incidentally, whatever happened to KKS and his/her many pseudonyms? They don't seem to be as active now... I don't know what made me suddenly think of KKS. Any ideas? -

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
no-brakes-uk replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If I may just interrupt the 80 pages of off topic conversation for one second, I'm slightly confused as to the question regarding Woffinden riding for GB. He is an automatic choice and will be leading the team regardless, I have no doubts on that. If it's to do with the debate of whether people consider him British or not, I don't remember anyone questioning whether Loram or Wigg should represent England/GB and quite rightly so, yet neither of them were even born in this country. If it's to do with Woffinden's tattoos, swearing, ears; missing the British Final, sitting out EL, fund raising, publicity, accent or so called attitude then I think we all need to calm down. If it's to do with how many points he will score, then i think the debate has run its course. -

No it's not and for "The Doctor's" information, Rob has been living in California for several years so 1am here is about 5pm there. I don't wish to get involved with any arguments, the only reason I logged in for the first time in what must be two years was because I saw Rob's name being dragged through some petty playground squabble, which seems to be normal on here. -
Just to try and set the record straight once and for all, Robert72 is 100% not Rob Homer. Still, certain people are taking a few wild guesses by other members (and the fact that the only thing they have in common is the number 72) as fact and slagging Rob's career just to score points against Robert72. I spoke with Rob a few days ago and he asked me to point out that he was born Rob Homer, not Robert and has never been a member of this forum. Robert72 even messaged me on here after I posted the confirmation and said he had stated on here that he's not Rob but "people won't listen". I haven't found any posts where he's said that so maybe he could state it on this thread to save Rob being slagged off any further?

Again, he is NOT Rob Homer. Rob was born Rob, not Robert and has never been on this forum. -

I suspect Robert72 only ever rode against world champions when he played the Speedway GP game 😆 -
So far, all the theories I've seen on this are full of holes.

Mate actually. I'm not defending Robert72 at all, but Rob having his name dragged through the mud for some faceless troll is out of order and I'm sure anyone would do the same for a mate. -

I'm pretty certain this troll called Robert72 is not Rob Homer as Rob is now a successful car designer and lives in America. I doubt he has time to troll on here for a start and he's not the type to do that. Rob is a decent bloke and although people think they are slating Robert72 about his apparent career, I'm confident they are actually slating the wrong person, which is unfair on Rob. To add to this, I've just spoken to Rob and he's never even been on here, plus his name is Rob, not Robert. -
I can remember Dave Lanning commenting that "you're not really supposed to look back in a speedway race" and always wondered what he meant. I can't recall the race or who he was referring to but it was in the 80s. Shawn Moran used to look behind him more than he looked in front of him but it never did him any harm. John Cook was another 'serial offender'.. I think it adds an element of character to the riders.
