More importantly, why isn't the British Final returning to its rightful home for one last year before Brandon gets bulldozed?
-
He won't be using it this season though 😉

I was a regular visitor at Wolves for a few years when Sam was there and he did have a habit of inexplicably sliding off all on his own. Never seen a rider of his calibre do that so often. That said, when he wasn't crashing he pulled off some amazing passes that defied belief. Never a dull meeting when Sam was racing.

I don't think he walked away. Kent let him go according to this. http://www.kentkings.co/news.php?extend.570.1

If I was to give a young kid any advice it would be "don't take any notice of experts on forums"
-
Imagine as a young kid learning the ropes, all the effort and expense you and your parents put into racing, all the injuries and the pain that goes with it and then you come on here and read this..

I can never understand why so many British riders don't make the grade when they get encouragement like this from supporters.

Rene Aas' mother, Tanya allegedly rode, as did his sister Janice (pronounced Yah-nice) so I'm told. -
Nigel Boocock Ashes Laid To Rest

Peter's had that suit for a few years. He wore them (even with Booey written on the back) at Johno's testimonial at Coventry in 2008 so I guess it made sense to do the lap for Nigel in them. -

here we go.. its started.. I'm surprised Scott hasn't had the blame for the Iraq war by now And Rob has done a great job as manager already. People questioned his squad before monday but he proved them wrong.. (Although King was still slated on here for scoring 9 points on his debut!) Tonight, another 4 points and this thread wouldn't even exist, not even in the wrong section! -

At the end of the Swedish GP Nicki referred to himself as "Nicki Peedersen" so i reckon Johnno got it spot on. -
Update: 14 - DAVID BLACKBURN (Belle Vue, Berwick, Berwick II, Boston, Glasgow, Leicester, Long Eaton, Middlesborough, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Reading, Sheffield, Swindon, Workington) 10 - MARK LORAM (Arena Essex, Bradford, Eastbourne, Exeter, Hackney, Ipswich, King's Lynn, Peterborough, Poole, Wolverhampton)
-
Leicester, Wembley and Tamworth but the latter closed about 20 years before i was born!
-
I know this is now an old thread and people are probably bored with it, but I only just came across it. David Blackburn also rode for Berwick in the Conference League around 1996/7. But i don't recall him riding for either Reading or Workington, can anyone confirm this? Also, Mark Loram has ridden for: Hackney, Ipswich, King's Lynn, Poole, Wolves, Bradford, Eastbourne, Exeter and Arena Essex which puts him on 9. Where does Rick Miller come on the list? He rode for the following: Coventry

yeh i agree, but never mind pearson, what about Tony "some say better late than never, others say better never late" Millard. YAAAAAAWWWWN! Surely there must be other commentators for Sky to choose from??

The Pavillion, if i remember correctly, was still there when Long Eaton closed. They used to hold rider forums and such there, and i believe it got burnt down by arsonists along with the main bar after the sadium closed, which is when it got demolished. I think it closed down not long after the speedway closed, presumably because the speedway provided alot of business for it, but again, this is just my take on it. I first went to Long Eaton in 1984. I was then a 14 yr old Coventry fan and went because the cov juniors were racing that night. We told Darren Slater that we'd come just to see them and he was over the moon! (and probably thought we were a bit mental) My dad and i were hooked on the quality of racing we saw that night and made regular trips that year, and after and i'll never forget the night they won the league against scunthorpe. Another vivid memory was the night Hackney rode there (in 1988 i believe). Andy Galvin and Moggo got on the wrong side of the Invaders fans and i seem to remember Galvin getting into a fight with one of the fans. He never was popular there after.

What exactly is a doner kebab and what does it contain? The only one I've seen is in Coronation Street. You'll have to excuse the ignorance but I'm one of those strange veggie persons so don't know. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is pitta bread with salad and is rumoured to be Lamb meat but it doesn't taste much like lamb to me although they are nice. Apparently by law you have to have one after several pints of lager.
-
That was pavillion in that photo but it got vandalised a few years ago, and arsonists set it on fire (well what else would an arsonist do) so they demolished it (authorities not the arsonists). The place looks a sad state now, drove past a year or so ago.
-
Certainly does, i stopped going the chippy in the end and started going there for a shish doner special! Good ol days.

I remember Stekkers knocking a tenth off the track record in the first League match of 1993 vs Exeter. Think it still stands but not 100% sure. It was 61.2 if i remember correctly?
