No mention of Crayford then, now that was interesting to say the least, remember a certain Australian at Canterbury who rode for us and had what you might call an encounter with the first bend safety fence at full throttle in his first ride. He never got to turn the bike and walked away laughing.

So at last it is just beginning to sink in that with the new system of using NL riders in EL teams it will leave NL sides weaker when fixture clashes occur so R/R will be used even more in the season to come, Brilliant news, a flawed new system even before injuries kick in.

Perhaps Parsloes does not know, which would not surprise me in the least after last seasons cloak and dagger affair. Think some of us have put two and two together.

Sadly I think Roger Cearns is being taken along for the ' ride ' rather than leading from the front as the stadium owner and Promoter, good God it's his money being spent yet he is taking a back seat and to me is more interested in the money the sport makes in the stadium rather than the sport in its own right. I was very sad when I last spoke to him how very little he knew about the sport. Whatever anybody says Len Silver will not be around for ever, then what happens ? In my eyes the right people for the right jobs were assembling in place to take the club forward for future seasons. An interesting close season to see who fills the vacant posts is on the cards.

Yes they did Malcolm and dates would be available but the question of the air fence remains and would be needed if entering the NL.. One day perhaps League racing will return to The Old Gun Site as it is an ideal venue for this level of racing until then its wait and see.

Raiders not returning so tough.
-
That's the Press Officer through the exit door now, sweep stake on the next one?
-
I see no reason why not.

As things stand Sittingbourne ( Iwade) will not need an air fence for training or Amateur meetings, but it will mean a round of The British Youth Championship cannot be held unless an air fence is in place. As for Lydd they can do as they please as they are unlicensed. Sittingbourne (Iwade) is not closing down as work is about to take place shortly on track preparation, that is after the planned practice on Sunday 29th December at 11am weather permitting.
-
Yes forgot about that, if they don't enter the league then they will be back to plague all at CP.
-
Well that has answered what I have been thinking that the Raiders will not be returning.
-
Interesting to note that water is still laying in large puddles on the start and on the entry and exit of the first bend, that is after attending two dog meetings over six weeks apart and little rain in the meantime. A lot of work is needed to put this right and proves the point the circuit was never put down correctly in the first place.

Tim Allen is the press Officer, all details on how to contact him are on the Kent Kings website. I fear you will get little joy as he is not told very much anyway and even less in what he is allowed to put in print.

Not enough riders to go round ?
-
So what happened to the Raiders return?
-
Kent Raiders or Rye House Kings.

Seems to me that the whole future of the sport is depending on a new T.V. deal being signed, without it the future is clouded in uncertainty, with the N.L. coming off worse. If the N.L. A.G.M. takes place before hand how can any decisions be taken ?

Without doubt losing any track in this Division is very serious for the League as a whole, losing stand alone tracks like the I.O.W. is unthinkable, let alone what is happening at Stoke and every effort to keep them going in what ever form must be looked into in depth. The question of air fences being compulsory at this level and the financial implication involved must be looked at. Do we have to lose tracks or are air fences that good, we must have them. I am not convinced at all and a re-think is needed. A smaller Division than 8 is hardly viable, so will it be the end of the N.L.? Once again it is so easy to lose tracks, but getting them back is much harder.

A comment from ' Proud Potter ' would not go amiss, over to you Malcolm ?

Sittingbourne Practice - Sunday 24th March 2013
IAN2 replied to clutchplate's topic in Training Tracks / Amateur
In answer to your question Yes, you can have your money refunded or carried forward to the next training session. -
Very sad news, R.I.P. Freddie

If its going to be a Rye House side wrapped up as a Kent side, riding in Kent its not going to work. We already have a Rye House promotion running it so unless we have a new influx of thought on this its just a Hoddesdon set up riding on an away track. Not ideal for the long term by any stretch of the imagination, I want this to work but its got to be a new set up not the Raiders moving home.
