  1. would be good if one of the 2 had to be their home league . riders from countries without a league could adopt a league which would then be their primary home , and always have to be their 1 st choice ..
  2. Elrc nothing meeting . no -one wants to ride in it .and no one wants to run it . so crap meeting on a crap track seems about right .
  3. Shame it was not announced earlier , could have been the (financial) shot in the arm that brought the I.O.W. back . . because it looks like the Isdlanders are consigned to the history books now ,, shame
  4. This member odf the public is defintitley getting what he wants .. next up . thieving eastern block scum
  5. I have heard this story . but with a completely different rider , no suprise you have heard it was Briggs though , nice little anecdote to put in a book . might even sell a few extra copies
  6. but however you get the Nitro into the engine if you dont increase the exhaust flow . it will have a negative effect . anyway scratch that .. what would I know ..
  7. you like taking a risk calling a bitter hanger on mechanic and forum antichrisdt " my Friend", you will send at least a couple of forum members into shock that was the work of a supposed former world finalist ? good job he was a speedway rider , because he would never have made a living as a spy novelist , they at least need to slightly believable . anyway better move on to pastures new since the forum technical committee have difficulty coping with my nonsensical posts about things I obviously have no knowledge of ..
  8. Interesting . and when was this ? I assume it would be the round slide carbs to have enugh room above the slide for the sponge , then of course you would need a hole in the slide to allow the nitro through ,or was the needle drilled ?. of course some sort of one way valve would be necessary to stop air travelling back up this new aperture instead of going into the engine ,, I should think the sponge would need some speicailised trimming so as not to interefere with the throttle cable or prevent the slide going all the way up . it must have been fairly recent i should think as up until recent times nitro was undetectable with the equipmebt available to speedway scrutineers. well unless you got caught filling up with it , not least because it evaporates so quickly that by the time the race has ended all trace has evaporated . I would definitiely like to know a bit more , have you ever seen this sytem used succesfully and if you have what was ther era of it's use ..?
  9. Nitro today would be of little or no help .. to benefit from ther extra heat generated by the nitro burn . larger exhaust volume is neceesary to clear the spent charge . with todays silencers the engine would effectivley stifle itself over heat and size if not blow up from the back pressure . In the 70s with straight through pipes clearing spent gas was not a problem ... Never heard such a load of complete rubbish in my life ,, practise before the world final ? . when was that because I went to quite few and never heard of any practise . have you any idea how much bigger the barrell would need to be to increase the capacitity by 50% to 750 . . bikes are brought into the pits and are not allowed to be removed until the meeting is officially closed . do you think for one second that the riders of that era would not have pointed out bikes leaving the pits or being brought in ? there were ways of cheating back then , but none of the above was one of them
  10. the most recent cheating was with advance switches for the ignition . allowing rerade ignition off the start givng massive grunt then advanced with the switch to give extra drfive once away .. martin smolinski was using one and got reported by the some other riders who were dissapointed about being outcheated Total BS... how many of them have you paid for ? . none ... how much do you know about the techniical side of speedway ..Nothing ... some people just have a Briggo fixation and you are one of them .
  11. Thats because both the Star and SCB knew it was just about Briggs making more money for himself . Like the trouble and expense he caused claiming the Poles were faking his over priced dirt deflectors . the only difference between the Polish Briggo's and the approved one was a slight difference in the colour of the plastic and of course the poish ones did not include £100 for Briggs in the price . nonetheless the brainless turds at the BSPA and SCB insitsed on Outlawing the Polish copies so that Briggs can continue to Bleed money out of speedway 45 years after he last rode a competitive race .
  12. Oh dear we cant have that , lets start a campaign to get John Sampford to drop Danny Ayres next week and give Shepperd his place , The lad turns up every week to his local track . gets in free and if time allows gets some track time after , but if he's going to walk away it's probably best to demoralise someone who IS a prospect because they can always get rides elsewhere ,
  13. Start winning MDL races , and equally as important finishing them and taking part in ALL his programmed rides . stop thinking that all you have to do is turn up to get a team place . his sisters boyfriend is not Tai Woffinden and this is Kent we are talking about not Scunthorpe , so he shouldn't expect anything handed on a plate . if he wants it he will have to earn it like 99% of other kids do .
  14. Adam Sheppard is not of a good enough standard to be riding in the National League . he cannot string 2 decent races together in the MDL , so why would any team be throwing opportunities at him ? speedway at this level should not be run on sympathy votes .if you cant cut it you dont get it IMHO.
  15. From looking at the averages on BSPA site . the riders averages have not improved at all . you could believe if you were that way inclined that Danno Verge for instance has Improved , but he has not. He is no longer 3 points by virtue of collecting guaranteed points . 3rd places and others where riders fall or ef , Steve Jones average has dropped from 5.58 to 4.00 so the team average has actually dropped since March . Scunthorpe as a promotion have profited from this exercise , since they have been collecting extra revenue from charging people who would not go if it were just NL extra for double headers , whereas all other promotions have lost when people stay away from one sided thrashings of basicly an amateur team and having to pay their own riders for 60+points . The actual damage as far as new and improving riders goes will not be seen until the minimum points rule gets put in place this winter to prevent farcical teams being tracked , and as a side effect closes the door on any team taking a risk on a new rider for fear of falling foul of the new minimum which was brought in to protect clubs who are not playing poker with the lowest division and most likely wont be affected by the new rule because they wont be running a NL team . one thing for sure if tonights meeting goes ahead . a one armed man could count on his fingers, with some to spare the amount of "Paying" Scunthorpe support attending
  16. If I were a national league promoter I would refuse to promote the meeting , simple enough concede the points and either put on a challenge against worthy oppostition , or an individual meeting ,
  17. Even hotter news , Woffinden has insisted that Wolverhampton employ Charlie Dimmock as his personal start tart , she is to come complete with spade ,rake and whacker plate , and will be responsible not only for Tai's gardening but also for obscuring the view of the other 3 gates with her huge appendages , There is also speculation that Woffinden is having his own changing room built complete with Tattoo and body mutilation studio and a room for a stylist to use between races , until its completion the Pits have been demolished to make room for his Winnibago and a marquee for his entourage , the rest of the riders will be provided pit space out in the car park behind their own vans , CVS assures all the riders who make up the numbers at Wolverhampton this is only a temporary measure , and they are guaranteed pit space in the shadow of the world champions building ASAP
  18. Diva !! what a great way to describe him , I can't wait to see him pull his diva stunt at the Next GP , well that will be the obvious next step up of course having got away with it at his home track and with a weak referee , It won't matter if he gets penailsed because he can just go back to his pit space and have a few of his blue only M and Ms . and shout at some of the lesser mortals who work for him
  19. Haha jealous of what exactly , surely you could have put a little more thought into that poor attempt at an insult ,
  20. And when he had finished gradening , threw the shovel down . (not to worry heh ? some pleb will clear up after me because I'm Tai Woffinden ) probaly so he could stand at the gate hands on hips, posing while waiting for a servant to bring his bike like little Lord Fauntleroy ,
  21. If i had been the ref I would have put Woffinden off 15 metres , and said if you want to show off and act the big man do it from back there ,
  22. Tracks can cope with Stock cars bangers and speedway , Probably the best racetrack in the country KIngs lynn , Has stocks bangers go karts amateur meetings with 100 races etc , but on a wednesday night it's better than most for elite league , just needs good managment then all sports can live happily together .
  23. With Colin the blade coming and some new shale Stoke should be a good racetrack once again , The top 4 of the team look like a solid scoring quartet .and once the wheat is sorted from the chaff with the bottom 3 and necessary changes put in place , Stoke could well be a winning team , I think Stoke fans should be looking forward , If not a good season at least a better one than the last few
  24. Far better to drop to scunthorpes level ,........................................ Not. down to a level . insteead of up to a standard , glad I dont have to do business with you
