Maybe Cottham at Buxton and Powell at Coventry may work better. Strudwick was shamed by little Tom. I've been going to Eastbourne for around 9 years and he hasn't got any quicker in this time. Connor Dugard and Freemantle were quicker when they first rode a 250 than Strudwick was on his 500. All excuses and no balls . Harsh but true

Gary Cottham looked a shadow of what we know he can do but I guess he's had a long time out after a nasty first turn crash so it may take a few meetings to get back on it. Hopwood did what I expected. I see Dugard didn't pull up any trees at the Laurels, back to soon after injury? He looked ok in the pits Sunday... If George is injured will they use Powell?

I have a feeling that motor in Cotthams bike was the one Freemantle used to good effect at the island. Shame the Eagles couldn't have tempted him back too. Although he looked a shadow of himself at Kent when he retired. Maybe he thrived on the team spirit on the island and felt at home . Never has done any good riding for Len Silver

Cottam and Hopwood are out and out tryers and never give up. Will suit the team well. Plus if what I saw a couple of years ago on the island is anything to go by the team spirit will only benefit from having these two in the pack . Hopwood is a real team player, just ask Freemantle, he scored more points on Hopwood bike than his own after smashing his own bike up in heat 2 nearly every week .

Whilst I'm a bit gutted for Kelsey I see this as a masterstroke for the Eagles. Gary Cottam is a quality rider and on the first class bike he will no doubt have from Eastbourne I can see him scoring heavily reserve. Him and Ben in the team makes the Eagles a real force now. Watch out Birmingham your days at the top are numbered. Well done Martin and Connor. Good to see the bad old days of Eastbourne sticking by riders just cos Bob likes them are over.

Get rid of Len and get someone that gives a hoot. The team is far too top heavy and the track isn't conducive to good racing . Could be though quite easily. Good little track with a bit of banking and some dirt. Also why do they insist on watering the blue groove ? The dust comes from dirt not rubber . I like Kent speedway, shame it's not run to its potential.

I did notice Connor straight on the phone while the medics took an eternity to get Dave off the track. Hats off to him for getting busy. Bellaby gave it all that old bull about no stone left unturned a year or so again and we gor sweet f a from him. Nice to see the management getting off their backsides now. Also better with big Glenn as manager than Mr Interesting Geer. Martin Dugard was flat out helping just about every rider in the pits. Good team spirit all round.

I thought Kelsey stepped it up well last night. Don't know what's changed but he rode better than I've ever seen. Seemed very determined. His last heat where he was a distance last and reeled in Verge to 3rd was a very mature effort. If he can do the same at Mildenhall on sunday I'd say he's turned the corner toward being a real contender to go up into the team. Also he looked to be pulling away from Owen in the heat before . Not sure why i got the hashes in that post???

The Eagles will be pecking the eyes out of the Raiders. Andrew Silver will feel like Kirk Douglas in that old film 'the vikings' lol
