  1. I think EIA needs a reminder of what was going on around that time.Ford was unhappy that Coventry had managed to keep Shamek at reserve for so long, IMO they used the very same criteria that Ford himself used many times (ie they played Ford at his own game)and he didn't like it .Pawlicki's 16 +1 did for Poole on the second leg meeting and Ford reacted by taking in his firework display, turning off the hot water to the visitors shower room & removing the Champagne from the bar area. Hardly the reaction expected from a mature person. Then came the sudden rapidly arranged meeting by a select few who connived a change in the conversion factor for lower league riders moving up, effectively screwing up bees deals for two riders already in place. I've seen comments that the teams shouldn't be selected before the AGM but we all know that it was the accepted way of doing things for years ,and probably stilll is now. We also had the re assessment of Pawlicki's average, another very unfair decision. Despite all the protests to the contrary it seems blatantly obvious that Ford was the Prime Mover in all that went on in the winter of discontent, & to add insult to injury he then proceded to register Kildemand as a poole rider whilst the bees were in the middle of a team shuffle mid season 2011. Kildemand went public and stated that he had no knowledge of his transfer to Poole as he hadn't even spoken to Ford. But it did have the desired effect as it stopped Coventry using him again. Those are just some of the moves of a very underhanded & bitter man.
  2. Methinks Shovlar doth protest too much.
  3. I had it in my mind that it was more about the conversion rate for riders moving up a league which was agreed prior to the AGM at a meeting that Coventry weren't invited to.Consequently that screwed up the bees plans as they had got deals to take two riders from the lower division Kenni Larsen being one (can't recall the other ).
  4. Indeed , & if he starts making too much noise on the issue he won't be long for this sport I fear.
  5. I doubt you will get your wish. It is something that is part of the history of the sport & as such will continue to be a topic for discussion. It highlights the actions of certain members of the BSPA & their attempts to put others out of business using gutter tactics.
  6. Oh well that will be the end of the discount on my tv package. Even my bank sent me a message via my phone app recently , concerned that my Virgin bill was so much lower than normal ..
  7. A very forgiving person is Rick Frost.. After all it takes a big man to get involved with one of the guys involved in trying to close him down when the bspa offered Coventry a route back in 2011, if they agreed to dump their stance with Peterborough. The guy you are trying to accuse quite rightly told them "to do one"
  8. No doubt , but it looks as though the money I spent there might be, judging by the current situation.
  9. Well Ford hasn't seen any of my cash since the fateful winter of discontent & I used to visit quite often prior to that. I doubt that I'm the only one that has given him the cold shoulder either .
  10. If only we had realised at the time, the amount of conniving & underhandedness the result of that final would cause .The shenanigans that followed had a huge impact on British Speedway, & not for the better I might add.
  11. Oh yes, it has . Adds new meaning to the phrase "flat out"...
  12. Jeff Davies' comments today. Jeff Davies@jeffdavies170 After yesterday’s fire, thank you to all those who offered messages of support. To those who were negative about the prospects of a return to Brandon - you’re wrong. We HAVE made progress. We WILL continue fighting it. We remain OPTIMISTIC.
  13. Shovvy wouldn't put the link up for that meeting as he wants to forget all about it . He might be more prepared to put up some photos of his trip to Rome though.
  14. Don't worry he'll be back as soon as he removes his head from within Matt's posterior and he spots your post.
  15. Perhaps we should resurrect the " Penal Transport System ", & put him on a boat to Aussie.
  16. Only those "hovering" waiting to get started on the next run of new homes .
  17. Ah, so that's the reason. I thought the standard of this topic had improved recently, but i hadn't worked out why.
  18. That's as maybe, but without the necessary skills to do the job he will fail. I saw plenty of Havvy during his spell at Coventry & concluded he wasn't cut out for the job , I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only person to think that either.
  19. Tough as nails was Ron. I remember seeing him racing with a plaster cast on his lower leg , didn't slow him down though. I had a few dealings with him after he retired, via his garage business, and always found him a great guy to chat with. When the ESO engine hit the UK in the mid 60's Ron was always keen to tell everyone how many more races he could get out of the engine before any servicing was required in comparison to the old JAP motors.
  20. Hope Rosco checked his top pocket after that photo shoot finished.
  21. From the riders point of view I would say the fact that the ESO/Jawa unit was so much more reliable and would do many more races between services. From a fans point of view, they could be pretty certain that when the riders came out of the pits to start a race that all 4 would reach the startline.
