What about Northampton?
Dave Jones replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's all part of the slow indoctrination process that is regularly used by conspiracy theorists. -
I'm not certain but i believe Belle Vue Rangers played Rugby League there up until the mid 1950's. The BLRC speedway meeting always took place around my son's birthday date so it was always a regular family day out for us. Arrived there early & spent the afternoon at the Zoo,then the evening at the speedway, completed by a few hours at the fun fair. Great memories, some of those BLRC meetings wil never be forgotten.😊

Looks like we have a spammer on the forum

I like to think I have a good sense of humour , but this guy just wants to post silly comments on almost every topic. He contributes very little to the forum , & often stupid remarks are the last thing that is needed. -

Yep, he just can't help himself.. No doubt he'll be back soon with another "Nom de plume" -

Correct, & Middlo too if we being sensible. -
Nothing that sinister. He was definitely a Wolves fan.☺️

I'm not sure whether it's case of a very bitter Wolves fan with a massive grudge , or that the guy is just incapable of understanding the plan for the stadium & just how much support the consortium have ,and not just from the fans

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2026
Dave Jones replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes , it's a sign of how rapidly the way we watch our tv is changing.. I'm sure I read recently that Sky were after ITV & we all know what that would mean , the broadcasters maximizing their income whilst minimizing the subscriber's bank balance. -

As far as I am aware Warner bros are selling some of their business , so i think TNT will disappear. I have a tv deal that includes TNT so if the transfer to HBO is going ahead next month I would expect to hear something official very soon. I'll let you know if I do😁 -

I would hope that anyone that has a tv package that includes TNT sport would be swapped to the new provider for the remaining period of their contract . -
Let's hope he can find his way to all of those venues. He gets lost at the end of his road if Sandra isn't there to show him how his satnav works.😁

Oh yes, dear Erica Buchanan who stated "she was minded to accept the planning application" & almost immediately left her post at Rugby Council. As we all know that was voted out by RBC at the following planning meeting.

Very likely you were asking questions that were much too difficult for whoever saw them at " Rugby Towers".😀 -

That skirmish probably did the sport more good than harm. I quite enjoyed it myself as it took me back to the times when that type of thing was quite a regular occurrence. It certainly created huge interest.😃 It makes me smile when I see the authorities quote the rule book as it just makes me wonder where it has been hidden for most of the season. -
The phrase "sounds like a broken record" comes to mind

Riders are no longer considered assets of clubs
Dave Jones replied to bigdave's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I've absolutely no idea what the highest transfer fee is , but I do recall a story told to us by Ole Olsen & his transfer to Coventry in 1976. He had a verbal agreement with the CO to go there, but rider control sent him to Hull. Ole refused to go & stated that he would sit out British Speedway that year. Shortly afterwards he was informed his move to Brandon was sorted out, only to find out later that Coventry had paid £30,000 for his services, ironically not to his former club Wolves but to Hull to get him released .🤣 -
Very much so

Refuse collection in Brum has been awful for so long now I wonder if it will ever get sorted out permanently. The operatives are a militant bunch & have been for 30 years or more, I say this as someone who lived & worked in the area for all of this time & have seen the problems first hand.
-
That's brilliant, I'd already sent my email using the "old fashioned method"😄 . Every message to the council will count . i am just getting the impression that we could see Brandon back up & running again in the not too distant future, fingers crossed.

Thanks. I couldn’t get any sense from my computer when i tried 😁😁

There's a new update from the savecoventryspeedway group on their website. For some reason i don't seem to be able to add a link here. The message sounds quite positive & they are asking for fans support via email or post to help the cause. If anyone could provide a link to the item it would be a great help.
