  1. Worrying news that the gypsies are encamped on the stadium car park..Hope that they get moved before the inevitable happens.
  2. If anyone knows when this is going to broadcast perhaps they could post on here.........................................................So I know when not to switch the tv on.
  3. I think you will find that the same applied to the Wolves/Cradley matches. I always made sure I got to theses matches & there was always a strong turn out of other Bees fans too. The attendances at both Monmore & Dudley Wood were always excellent, the atmosphere was something special & way above the usual. Wonderful days very sadly missed.
  4. The biggest shame of all of this is that he came back, & also unfortunately found his way to Brandon.
  5. You are correct, Brian went to Newcastle for the short period after he won the U21 final. i think he was always scheduled to be a Bee though & the move to Newcastle was one of convenience as he was in the Bees team at the start of the next season.
  6. C C at 34 years, does he qualify for Dad's Army ?
  7. What a ridiculous situation. Here we have probably the most entertaining rider left in British Speedway, which everyone knows is" scraping along the bottom",who's future is being questioned because he scores too many points.
  8. That has been the attitude from various promoters for many years "If you don't like it don't come". The issue now is that large numbers of fans have taken their advice .
  9. To me he has always appeared to be a moody character with "an attitude". I have my own nickname for him "the incredible sulk".
  10. Just Shovlar's way of reinforcing his view that Ostergaard "made a meal of the start"
  11. I would imagine he will be told his services are no longer required shortly.
  12. I am not surprised by this news at all. They are a council unfit for purpose & have been for many years.
  13. If you choose the wrong "side street "near the stadium you could find that when you return to your car later it might not be in the same condition as it was when you left it there, & I say that from my own experience. It's not the best part of town.
  14. Don't get me started on that one again, or this thread might just disappear too.
  15. Reminds me of the trip we made to Poland in 2000 where we took in the final GP at Bydgoszcz, & on the Sunday drove up to Pila for a league meeting. When we entered the stadium we were told that because we weren't local we must go into the fenced off section reserved for visitors. Very intimidating area !! Fortunately someone involved in the Pila club found out we were there , they came round and rescued us & took us to sit alongside them in the better seats where they kept us involved all afternoon & even took photos which they put up on their website .Turned out to be a very decent afternoon.
  16. Why is it I wonder when clubs are having a tough time (and I don't mean just Birmingham)& fans are getting more upset about what's happening, that people like you spring up spouting all the aggression? I never realised that anyone needed to put money into the sport to become an expert either. You might be close to the internal proceedings at the Brummies but you are no "expert " on public relations from what I have seen of your posts on this forum.
  17. Does the 46 service still run? It did when I lived there & it would stop at Ray Hall Lane which is just a short walk to the Hotel
  18. No problem, the hotel is on the edge of a small upmarket housing estate . So much better than Kingstanding. edit ... There's a bus service from Hamstead village that will drop you very close the Hotel.
  19. Not sure how much you want to pay for a room but "The Great Barr Hotel" do rooms for around £50 . It's a nice part of North Brum & a 15 min walk along the Newton Rd to the Scott Arms where there are regular buses to town which stop very near the stadium.
  20. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-stadiums-owners-face-new-23984645
  21. He was left in a very unexpected situation due to the very sad circumstances that we are all aware of .He was only ever going to be Nigel's co - commentator & he will need to learn his new role. But he is already doing a better job than you ever managed in your time at Coventry.
  22. Easily solved then. Just ring the brummies number , ask for retentions & tell them you will be leaving if you don't get your discount.
  23. It might be, but that just highlights the issue of the unfairness of the re -entry conditions that appear to be applied this year, ie if there is another abandonment after two races for instance the huge financial loss to the fan through something that they have absolutely no control over. If the clubs choose to take the risk with one ambulance then they should take the risk if it doesn't work out.
