  1. I think the major difference here is the "opportunity". Belle Vue have had to live with an awkward track since the the day they moved into the greyhound stadium, and it has already been stated that the track at the new stadium will be totally different to the current one. CVS missed his opportunity when Monmore was re- designed, and he had pretty much a blank canvas on track design. However he finished up with something very similar to the track that had been there previously, when so much more could have been done. Incidentally the fact that Wolves are so poor this year doesn't bother me , quite the contrary in fact.
  2. Well judging by the crowd reaction last night, Nicki P only had one fan in the stadium. That was the electric one that his mechanic waves under his nose in the pits between races.
  3. I must say , having seen this it leaves me feeling a bit blank.
  4. 3 more years like this and you could be ready for suicide
  5. Perhaps you could change your name to "white flag",
  6. Unfortunately I don't expect it will create the slightest impression with the clowns at bspa towers. They are more into vendettas than they are trying to help a very very good british youngster.
  7. You mentioned the shape of the track. This is something that has puzzled me too. Sometime back I worked very close to Monmore , around the time of the stadium improvements, which included a new dog track being installed, freeing up extra space around the back straight area of the speedway track. One day a" big wig" from Ladbokes left his car with us for some work to be carried out. I offered to drop him off at the stadium, and whilst driving round there I quizzed him about the layout of the new speedway track. He was very clear with his reply, the extra space created could be used for the new track, and the decision was entirely in the hands of CVS. The extra space wasn't used , which is a shame really because monmore could have had a bigger circuit with a much better shape.
  8. Must have been. Half of them were Coventry fans.
  9. But nothing like the number we get when the pirates visit .
  10. Max Fricke , a developing talent in my opinion. Would very much liked to have seen him in the Bees team this year
  11. As will the Bees, given the present form of HA & Robbo.
  12. Bomber just needs to find a little more straight line speed and he could be in business.
  13. That's quite interesting. I was only chatting to a couple of speedway friends last night about Mondays debacle, and I said to them that given what was happening at FIFA , we might have to re-introduce the death penalty in this country in order to suitably punish the administrators of british speedway if ever they got brought to book
  14. Hans Nielsen used a laydown engine at Pocking in 1993. He finished second to Ermolenko, and probably would have won it had it not been for a couple of doubtful decisions from the referee.
  15. Perhaps Starman could spend a couple of weeks there to help improve his grasp of the English language.
  16. It will take a lot more than that to make me feel sorry for Horton.
  17. Based on previous experience, something makes me think that it will be a complete waste of time and effort, unfortunately.
  18. It will be interesting to see what sort of reception he gets from the south coast " mafia chief" when they next meet.
  19. It's all down to BSMS. British Speedway Mushroom Syndrome . Prevalent at most tracks these days.
  20. Looks as though the offer has ended. I got some on Friday , but having just checked again the tickets for tomorrow have disappeared from the page.
  21. From the same guy who reckoned he could walk from the centre of Prague to Marketa in 15mins . Don't think so. Actually getting the tram back from the stadium after the meetings was all part of the fun for us, I remember when one year it was so full (2 carriages) that it felt as though it might tip over going around the turn by the castle. One guy who was stuck in the middle of the tram couldn't get off at his stop and had to go down to the town, we saw him wandering around about 30 mins later looking completely lost. Great fun and a wonderful city Didn't realise the metro went to Marketa now, and we were only there in October . Must try it out next time we go.
