  1. Surely better sponsors the money would be used on better machinery to use in the GP's and in the leagues. Let's not forget that Tai is a 'factory' Jawa rider or JRM as it is now
  2. Big fan of Tai's he certainly has the skill and he can gate (must be the aussie in him) but i think he shouldn't be considered for the GP's yet until he either is a wild card at the British GP or is a few more years older. He's doing well over here and in the other countries but i think he needs to continue as he is for now
  3. slightly off topic but i'm looking to get my hands on copies on the 92 and 93 world final and then the Gp series from 94 onwards and was wondering if anybody knew of anywhere that i could perhaps get these
  4. I had a bit of spare time at work and started thinking about how to improve the competition that is the SGP however that spare half hour soon became a whole morning and the competition then become the whole national championships and GP qualifying rounds so here goes....... Get rid of the whole SGP format for starters then in it's place select a whole week in the season (like is done for the SWC but towards the end of the season like end of August early September time), then choose a country this country will then hold the Speedway World Final of that year, however instead of a one of meeting or 11 meetings held over the season choose 3 or 4 different tracks in the chosen country and have them hold a meeting on the same format as the old world final (each rider has 5 rides and rides agianst everyone once) so that the World Final is then held over 4 legs in 1 country in 1 week (obviously chosen country will change from year to year) and highest total at the end of the 3 or 4 meetings is the World Champion. This then led to my thoughts of qualifying for the event and brought back great memories of the Overseas Final at Coventry back in the day. Anyway the World Champion would automatically be entered into the Final for the next year so no need to qualify. Then obviously bring back the old format of the British Final and the top 7 from that then go to the overseas final with the top Americans and Aussies, then the Scandinavian final with the top 6 or 7 from the Danish Final, Swedish Final so on and so on, then the Intercontinental finals and top 6 or 7 from each go to the World Final. But then thought to give more importance to the British Final (same applies to Danish and Swedish and others) that the winner of the Final automatically qualifies for the World Final meaning that the further you go in the qualifying process the less places in the Final are available bringing more importance to do well in the competition. Bit complicated but in my head it works fine
  5. i was thinking about changes to the world team cup the other day and thought more along the lines of leaving as it is with 5 man teams but instead of having 1 rider from each team in a race it should be 2 riders from 2 teams in a race this way it can involve a team riding aspect into the meeting as well after all it is the world team cup. only problem is for everyone to race against each other it would take about a day to complete a meeting
  6. For me i think that if you win a GP then you should automatically qualify for next year so that they can defend that GP that they won, however the flaw with this is that is possible that with 11 GP's you can have 11 different GP winners and only have 5 spaces left well 3 after Nicholls and Harris get there spots in the GP as usual without needing to qualify. Only other thing i think would be good would be to automatically put the winner of the National titles into the GP's this would put a greater emphasis on the National Title and hopefully generate more interest in them as well
