  1. was it not national league guest for ass riders in the old days maybe wrong but sure thats what it used to be but who knows at present
  2. 30 mins to start time 9 mile away still no rain but clouds building fairly quickly but not too dark
  3. track looked good tonight but it was the driving rain they were not happy with how the track wasnt under water i dont know but it really did look ok to race
  4. im 9 mile away looks ok over my way but which way the weather has been this week anything can happen
  5. when peter karlson rode for workington whenever workington were at the isle of white karlson had to ride in his homeland sweeden and the only option for workington was national league guest so has the rules changed
  6. about 15 mile away from derwent park but weather all around has been awful so wont take much rain tomorrow to call it off
  7. well if its around the same or bigger as stated in a later post then it must be classed as succesful as midweek meetings as a rule dont get as many in through the gates
  8. teams using newport riders at start off season were only given a set period to use them as double up riders if they didnt find a team place in the prem they had to go full time or step down from the double up role there has been other riders in past years that have lost there prem league place and no longer allowed to double up but this is speedway and rules are not there to be followed by all clubs
  9. if sedgeman hasnt got a prem league place he cant double up so must be full timeif he has got a prem league place then he must be a double up rider as prem league would take priority if the 2 have a meeting the same night
  10. dont think sam masters is interested in the prem league poole is where his loyalties lie and thats proberbly had a say on him being dropped some clubs will drop a rider like masters to improve there team where some others will keep a rider scoring well below there average just shows the difference in ambition from promotors
  11. what sort of crowd was there compared to a normal race night
  12. maybe is but workington signed tero aarnio and he wasnt allowed to ride in the fixture against leicester i think it was and that was more than 48 hrs after signing was anounced
  13. so if he makes his debut on thursday when did he sign i thought it was you had to declare 5 days before first fixture before the signing took effect
  14. very good move from berwick they understand that money is tight and a midweek fixture will stop travling fans who have work to think about workington next week are riding friday and saturday but i bet there is no reduction at workington well done to the berwick promotion for trying to get people through the gates edinbrugh ran friday /saturday the other week and any one who produced a friday ticket on saturday got reduced admitance shows some promotions understand people just havnt got endless supplies of money
  15. this should be tried at all grounds a few have tried promotions recently if you get more in by cutting the gate price then it has to be good for the future
  16. ive been saying the same for years there should be a rule as where the start marshall moves riders in in a set order (nothing stopping the others to take there place before) as youve said maybe go gate 1 first then 2,3,4 or gate 1 then 4 then 2 then 3 but think its about time there was a procedure to follow which would make it easier to say who was delaying the start
  17. it dont matter if they get a cheap guest or a very expensive 1 they still have the same 3pt average just the same as everyother team who is missing there lowest averaged reservejust accept it and stop making posts in everythread about it
  18. peter waite was a master in finding new 3pt reservesnot afraid to go looking for talanted riders yes he could wind people up and to a point i think he enjoyed doing that but when he was interested he served berwick well wish other clubs had a backer/owner with the same passion to improve the club instead of trying there best to run it into the ground so no one wants to take it over when they pull out
  19. After he was at workington he went backwards. maybe its his lifestyle. now shaved fancy hair styles and designer sunglasses are of more interest than winning races
  20. lawson will find better form im sure unless theres something wrong behind the sceen were not seeing thats afecting him
  21. have rye house booked a guest or just gonna go r/r if the rain dont come
  22. theres more than plymouth fans thinking the same
  23. its not new for plymouth they turned up at workington a couple of years ago with only 5 riders and only 1 reserve lucky for them the meeting was rained off theres no excuess for no reserves theres plenty of national league riders willing to take there chance even if they dont score they learn how much they have to step up if they want to ride in the prem
  24. not too far from the truth there i would think
