  1. my personal opinion is that a deal will not happen because keith denham will not sell the club unless its a very high priceafter all what is for sale a couple off tractors some track grading equipment starting tapes but as for assets lets face it who is contracted to workington nermark, ingalls ,charles wright the 2 branneys ? stoney not sure if theres any others maybe kyle howarth became a asset aswell but if keith shuts shop before selling all the assets become the property of the bspa so theres not any real value there is there
  2. maybe keith denham only jocking before you all hang me
  3. this thread is about workington v ipswich the link is there to show the reduction not the story about takeover which looks to be a false hope
  4. in the local area theres a lot off talk about this and has been all week maybe auntie sue has been getting a little excited so with all the talk maybe thats why its gone to press at this early stage
  5. harry and craig have turned the northside training track around and saved it from closure and maybe they can do the same for the comets but lets just see how much keith denham wants the comets to continue if he is asking too much for a club hes said hes gonna close then just like the mallets he dosnt want anybody else running "his club" keiths hart was in it but his atitude was all wrong for it to succed
  6. only £10 if theres more than 900 in come on speedway fans show your suport and save this club read the folowing link http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/comets/moss-bay-metals-linked-with-workington-comets-speedway-team-take-over-1.1000043?referrerPath=sport
  7. looks like there is interest in the comets http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/comets/moss-bay-metals-linked-with-workington-comets-speedway-team-take-over-1.1000043?referrerPath=sport
  8. it seams a comon thought that £10 is about the right price for prem league speedway
  9. i will say i see 2 different groups that were regulars at derwent park but havnt been for 3 to 4 years nowsometimes there is only 2 in 1 group but sometimes there could be 5 or 6 another group theres usually a family of 4 all adults and thats just the ones i know there are others i recongnise but cant say for sure if they still go to workington as they dont go in the same part of the ground as i do so they could still go but i havnt seen them in the bar like i did years ago but i dont go in the bar now as i go speedway straight from work so its a long day and just want to get home but i always stop for 2nd halfers if there is any
  10. well said and i know i see workington fans at away matches that dont go to derwent park anymore so you are right when you say there are fans still there even if they dont go
  11. hope it works out for all the glasgow fans
  12. if you can afford it its not too expensive for a good meeting but if your not that well off with little or no spare cash after paying the bills yes it is expensive especially if its a poor follow the leader meeting with a under strength team put together on the cheap
  13. yes but my point is riders ridinng in the swedish league wouldnt want to sign for a tuesday night club and bspa might not allow a club to stage meetings on a tuesday because of this ever wondered why no one rides sundays(poland) and tuesdays(sweded) in the eliete league
  14. can you remeber when peter karlsson rode for workington and the isle of wight were in the prem league he had to ride in sweeden and we could only use conference league rider as guest
  15. think you may find that the teams who are on sky have big reductions in people through the gates as the fans stop at home and watch it on tvalso running in the so called eliete league would be much more expensive also all the people who work shifts like my self and about 4 or 5 others who work with me would not be able to make mondays every week the prem league sees diferent teams most weeks with only cup matches seeing teams returning where as the eliete league sees all teams returning as there is only a very few teams in the league whitch goes against why you say you dont go in your own words its a bit samey and as for the x factor if thats your choice then you really must get a life
  16. thanks for that thats how id figured it out but seams strange idea that 1 team picks 2 others that race against each other so wasnt sure if it was just home and away with the teams that had the picke or as it is
  17. if workington run under new ownership next year i would think kauko could be interested in a return to the comets
  18. ipswich league cup semi final 2nd leg next sunday at workington not berwick food and drink income does not go to speedway at workington but as said last nights gate brought in more than what he said he would be happy withrusty harisson and family was in the crowd last night showing support first time ive saw him down since he stopped riding this year dont think ive seen a date yet for the berwick match at workington
  19. yes was something like that it was 7-9 or 79- something the pa was poor as always so couldnt pick it up over the people taking in the back ground on the 2nd bend but it was definatly high 700's as far as i could make out i hope it does then we will get a fiver back
  20. workington getting back to strength kyle howarth returned tonight 18 pt max after 8 weeks out and adam roynon might be back in 2 weeks
  21. no news really crowd was given as just under 800 so no discount but worth the £15 to watch kyle howarth return from 8 weeks out to score a 18 pt max hope something happens comets are too good a club to disapear
  22. think the actual figure given was closer to 800 im sure it was 779 given out but the pa was poornot a bad meeting kyle howart 8 weeks out with some pritty bad injuries and a 18pt max what a rider to have at reserve
