  1. Are they the same owners? I thought Oxford was owned by a greyhound man and Berwick by the Courtney brothers?
  2. John Campbell was the fixture compiler for many years if not decades, maybe still is. Teams have an input from day one and then a draft is circulated for consideration. Poole/Plymouth are suffering the same fate as Edinburgh/Glasgow have done over the years except the latter used to be worse with the Spring Trophy and the Scottish Cup (neither of which seem to be raced for these days). But, just imagine what it would have been like with two home and away. (Unless Poole and Plymouth meet in the play offs of course!)
  3. I think all of that says more about you than me. Time to move on….
  4. I accept my arithmetic was wrong - I thought the score was 39-51. Don’t know why!!
  5. Fair enough. I’m sure Edinburgh tried to get him to change his mind.
  6. If ever there was a chance of beating Poole, this has to be the meeting for Plymouth. Steve Worrall, by his own admission has become Mr Second Place, Richard Lawson doesn’t seem to be 100% fit and Roynon seems to have lost his early season sparkle. But I’m usually wrong!
  7. Don’t know how you work that out. What I said was factual. He scored 14 and 13 from his first two home NDL meetings and 4 last night. Do you think maybe his heart wasn’t in it? 11 from Kyle last night would probably have won the meeting for Edinburgh. IMO
  8. Bad timing by Edinburgh - last night’s score was Kyle’s revenge.
  9. Wasn’t he also Ben’s landlord?
  10. Would Pickering fit when he recovers? Maybe that’s the plan. Or else Pickering gets his place back and Klindt goes to Peterborough? I have no idea if the averages would fit
  11. Now that makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up
  12. I’d be surprised if Garritty was out yet. He was arrested in April 2020 sentenced to 7 and a half years in October 2020. Assuming he was remanded in custody in the April and his sentence is deemed to start from arrest rather than conviction, the best he can hope for is a release after serving half his sentence, so that would be 3 years and 9 months which would take us to January next year. In view of his crimes, I would hope that his licence has been permanently revoked
  13. Could you give me details of the charity, please? I checked the Charities’ Commission website but there doesn’t seem to be one under that name.
  14. Steve Johnson had DILLIGAF in gothic letters on his backside. It looked like a sponsor’s logo. I think Tai Woffinden has also used it. Fans of Western Australian comedian Kevin “Bloody” Wilson (not suitable for children) will understand….
  15. Updates site say it was Connor not Nathan that had 11 + 3???
  16. Would Poole want to take on a weakened team, especially one without box office Basso? Or has the win at all costs mentality spread from father to son?
  17. Thank you. At 5.7, so quickly, he certainly hit the ground running. Huge potential but will 2023 be his last year in UK?
  18. The assessed average was a red herring though as he’d just failed to get an official average. Does anyone know what was his true, not official, average at the beginning of 2022?
  19. With the exception of Berwick, I’d say that every team in Championship has money, but some spend it better than others. Do you think that Douglas, Allen and MPT are significantly cheaper than, say, Stevie, Lawson and Ben Cook? Or Howarth, Richie and Barker? It’s not what you’ve got, it’s what you do with it that counts.
  20. Cracking GP from the first heat. I’m not a Holder fan but he must feel robbed, and rightly so. The referee had two decision to make, both involving Zmarzlik, and my view is he got both right. The first one was cut and dried, the second one seems to be controversial. If you watch a rerun and keep your eye on BZ from when he drew level with Doyle as they came off bend 2, then you’ll see he didn’t deviate from his line. After he was ahead of Doyle, Doyle turned into him and Doyle did the Chris Harris jump off (something Doyle criticised Harris for doing!) Doyle is usually the master of histrionics but he seemed to take his disqualification more calmly. No pushing cameras away or flouncing into his pit bay. That suggests to me he knew the disqualification was fair.
  21. A few, but only a few SCB fines are publicised, like for Basso and Kerr, but hearing about BSPL fines just doesn’t seem to happen. Perhaps because BSPL fines are only levied on teams not individuals? And this would have been a BSPL penalty. I don’t know if Glasgow were fined any more than anyone knows that they weren’t!
